Wow!!! Sue, I really really love this, I make all kinds of bowls and trinkets from resin as well! Thanks for inspiring me, I want to try something like this in my style!!!! You are the BRST!!!!!❤️❤️😀😀😀👍👍👍
The lotus flower is such an awesome project, and you are a really amazing teaching always careful to tell us everything that we need to know. Can’t wait to see your kitchen backsplash.
I’ve watched a lot of your tutorials and love that you do so many different things with resin. I really love this one and the poppies ... all your pieces are gorgeous but I love the leaves & flowers so much 🥰 Thanks for sharing your expertise with us
O M G!!! Just.... WOW! I wonder if instead of hot glue if this could be done with silicone calking and the mold saved. Adding to my list of projects to try.
What’s not to love about this! Gorgeous Sue!! 😍💯👏. We made a hat band for a fishing buddy with similar ideas- it was a long straight line across the bottom edge. But the top edge we made to look like sharks teeth all pointed slightly left. Before it hardened we put the 2 ends together & placed it on a hat to cure. Later we put some fancy little fishes we made from molds all over it 😂 It’s really endless (possibilities) fun.
Sue Findlay You’re always so kind 💖. We’ll probably never get it back to take a picture. But interestingly- we did do some tests on smaller pieces and figured out that by adding a little less hardener to the resin mixture, we were able to get a mix that ‘softly’ hardens. It’s like fruit leathers. I don’t know if y’all have ‘Fruit By The Foot’ or some sort of Fruit Roll Up snacks. This comes to full cure with no stickiness whatsoever. It takes an extra day to cure but it isn’t rock/plastic hard like the normal bowls & dishes are.. that hat band was like a strip of bendable beef jerky even weeks later. It doesn’t fall over, it stands up, but it can be draped or shaped, hung over, by manipulating. Once a desired shape is obtained, it could be followed by normal resin mixture to make it solid. Js.. it’s a different way to approach making things with some flexibility. ✌️😁
I’m new to your channel and that was so beautiful and such a beautiful thing to make💞I haven’t seen anyone do anything like that, thank you so much for sharing. I’m still struggling with resin🤣I’ve had about 10 flops and 4 ok thing. I’ll be checking out your other videos💞
Love this technique, so much fun. Although, the plastic from ziplok bags I used, would not come off resin. And the only way I could get hot glue off reskn was to cut it off . Any suggestions on getting the plastic off resin?
All resins are different, some stick to certain plastics, I recommend that you test your resin on a variety of plastic to see which is best for you. Also be careful when adding heat, you can melt the plastic to the resin.
Oh WOW, just found your channel and I love the way you make your own props, molds using everyday items and keeping the cost down, great ideas., rather then having to go out and buy molds. I'm completely new to resin sculpture , can I ask how do you know how much resin to use for each piece ? Is their a calculation ? Appreciate your advice, thanks again for sharing and please keep your videos coming😍,
Thank you 💕 I started out using a resin calculator (www.uresin.com.au/art-calculators/), however, after a while, you have an idea on how much you need.
@@SueFindlay super, thanks so much. Its a terrible wet and windy day here in the south west of Ireland and I'm enjoy going through your channel watching your videos with a coffee. On a new lockdown here for 6 weeks effective today, so great to have the opportunity to watch your videos. Keep safe and keep your videos coming 😄
This is so pretty, Sue. It inspired me to tackle a project that I’ve had on my mind. I outlined my stencil with hot glue and poured my design yesterday. This morning I went to “demold” it unfortunately my hot glue border has become one with the resin. The whole piece peeled off of the vinyl sheet in which I poured it, but the resin is absolutely fused to the hot glue. Any suggestions on where I may have gone wrong?
Wowwwww Sue, this Lotus floweris stunning!!! how can you be so creative !! Its a super pretty resin piece, really!! 🤩👏👏👏👏👏🖼 question : which is the difference between glue gun and the silicone gun (hardware store) ? Lots of hugssss to you! ✨👩🎨😘 You're AWESOME ARTIST! Im your super fan, I learn so much from you! 👏✨🌷🖼👩🎨👏👏👏👏👏😘
Thank you 😍 A glue gun holds glue sticks and melts the glue into a liquid state, whereas, a silicone gun, helps to push the silicone out of the tube. 😍
You make it look so easy Sue....many thanks 😊
My pleasure 💕

That is beautiful! I've been redoing my kitchen with sunflowers and am wondering about doing this to make a ceiling light for over my sink.

So stunning Sue. 👏👏😍💜. So much better than my paper flowers. Will you be hanging that on a wall?
Thank you 💕 this is not going on the wall, it is a table decoration. 😍

I can’t even believe what I’m seeing!!! Did this come to you in a vision? LOL. Way too advanced for me.
LOL, most things just pop into my head 💕

It may seem like it is fully stuck, try trimming the hot glue off. Once you get an edge, you may find it easier to peel off. 💕 good luck 💕
So beautiful 😍😮😇 Love it and the colors you chose!!..Gonna have to try it...are they for sale?
Yes, they are. suefindlaydesigns.com.au
Amazing like always
I wouldn't recommend it. The candle would get too hot for the resin. 💕
I think one of the flickering tea lights (battery operated) would be beautiful!
Where did you get the template for the flower? It’s gorgeous by the way!
I made it and thank you. 💕
Can I use plumbers silicone please 😁😁
Yes, you can use silicone to create your shape. 💕
IPA dissolves hot glue. Brush the alcohol on, wait 5 mins and the resin will just pull away from the hot glue
Great tip, thank you 💕

Looks like tasty ice cream
Yes, like a raspberry ripple 💕
@@SueFindlay exactly..😋
I need help to know which sheeting to use.
I would recommend a thick plastic for this, like cellophane. 😍
May I ask where you found the template for your flower pieces used here? I'm having trouble drawing one accurately lol
I created it. 😁
Hermoso lastima que no sea en español para asi poder aprender precio
Lo siento, no hablo español. Usé Google para traducir este mensaje.

do you have a template for the lotus outline you could post
