Sue, I have run out of superlatives for your art--it's that stunning. Thank you for sharing it for those of us who can't afford it or have no room to try making it. The beauty of your art is eclipsed by your kindness, helpfulness, humility and encouragement for artists, complete with showing us how to become successful like you! Can't thank you enough for that, too! Then there's all the people who can't sleep/are in pain and are soothed by your voice, sense of humor and your process in creating art. May you and your family continue to be blessed with good health and success and love in these challenging times.
Thank you for your very kind words. I believe my purpose in life is to help others through art. I am grateful that I have been given this ability and will continue for as long as I can. When I get comments like yours, it fills me with joy, knowing that I am on the right track. I hope you and your family come out with good health and happiness at the end of this terrible time. 💕
We are all well thank you 💕 I don't like being on the other side of the world to my parents. Thankfully, they are well too. I hope you and your family are well also. 💕
I have several of these types of lamps and a few have broken shades that I was just about to send to the trash. I am now so excited to give this a try so I can recycle/upcycle instead of filling up the trash with them 🤗.
Hi Sue, you never fail to amaze me. Obviously, because you are such a fantastic artist whatever you do looks easy! NO, it's not. Whatever you do it is always fabulous. Thank you for sharing yet again. Please stay safe, best wishes to you and your family. xx
At first, my OCD was not embracing the uneven shape of the lampshade...lol. But after watching the video, I love how its appearance mimics the movement of water! 💖🌊🌊🌊
I have an heirloom family lamp I would like to make a shade for, but I was worried that the heat from the bulb would make the resin melty. This looks lovely Sue.
Your videos are the best and your ideas are original and inspirational. I love the time lapse with voice over. The result is effective, informative and to the point videos that are easy to watch. Thanks Sue! The Lamp is amazing. I am off to make one now! Thank you ♥
Привет)) хочу сказать: спасибо за видео, за твои идеи) очень красиво, креативно и вдохновляюще)) и хотя я не знаю английский, но смотрю сам процесс)) успехов тебе)
Hi Sue! I am so sorry if this has already been asked, but do you have any idea what the total amount of resin was that you used? Or maybe for each color? I plan on making mine about the same size as you have. Thank you so much for your help!
Hi Sue! I am learning so much from your videos. You are such a pleasure to watch and everything you make is simply stunning! I have a question... I'm new at working with resin and I tried to make a resin sculpture, with drips, and I moved the resin too soon and some of the acrylic diamonds have fallen off. As I type, the piece is still on the form. What can I do to attach the diamonds, if there are obvious holes on the edge when I unmold it tomorrow?
This happened to me on my first attempt, I just put it down to experience and waited longer next time. I did save the run offs and used them in another project. 💕
That’s what I did, I scooped up what fell off and saved it. When I removed the piece, I noticed there are a few areas where the “flashing” is deep, so I decided to try to brush resin that has thickened for a bit, onto that one section and adhere the missing diamonds. It’s curing now so tomorrow I’ll know if it worked! Thank you for replying. I live in Orlando, not far from all the theme parks. If you ever want to visit Orlando, let me know. I can host you and in exchange I can pick your brain. I have so many questions being a newbie. I’m not a crazy person...google me :) Jacquie Sosa.
I buy them from a wholesaler in Australia. I will be honest, it took me a while to find and set up an account with them because I had to show that I am a reseller. So for that reason, I am not going to give away my sources. Sorry!
For this one, I used cling wrap, for others I have used cellophane. It depends on the look I am after. You need to test your resin on plastic, to see what works best for you. 💕

Hey Sue, amazing as always! I also watched your stunning poppy sculpture! Wow! I looooove! Wondering about mineral spirits? Is this like turpentine? Or what is it? I would love to get some! Could you send me a link? Or maybe even a Canadian version link? That would be amazing!

I also like that it isn't perfect 💕
It's the imperfections that make it perfect in my opinion.

Hi, beautiful piece. What are you applying the resin to? I seen your video and you used cling film, but what the material your using here? Thank you x
This was cellophane 💕
Hi Sue! I am so sorry if this has already been asked, but do you have any idea what the total amount of resin was that you used? Or maybe for each color? I plan on making mine about the same size as you have. Thank you so much for your help!
I used around 300ml of resin. I use an online calculator to get a rough idea of how much I need. www.uresin.com.au/art-calculators/
Thank you so much!

It worked out to 390mm in diameter and 40mm for the hole. 💕

White spirits is similar to turpentine. I would recommend trying a small amount and see what happens. 💕
