That’s a very good question. DFS, or Distributed File Service is a collection of file servers that share a common namespace. For example: FileServer1, FileServer2, FileServer3 are 3 distinct file server resources. Doesn't matter where they are, what size they are, physical or virtual. Now a DFS namespace can combine the resources of all 3 of these to look as one logical chunk of space, say myfileresource.com. The end user when connecting to said Ilmyfileresource.com\DATA, for example, does not know, nor care which server or where that piece of data is coming in

I will be making windows server 2019 video for a little bit finishing the playlist. I will soon.
Very clear and straight to the point. What would be a reason to have multiple namespaces?
Thank you. It was something I was testing with.
what happens if you type: " \\INFOSECPAT.LOCAL\Public-FL " instead of " \\INFOSECPAT.LOCAL\Public\FL" in the RUN ?
Mmm...what is actually the difference between a File Server and a DFS Server then?
