    Thank you Pat for the really good videos. I like that you don't edit out the troubleshooting steps.
    Quick question on WDS, how would you pre-package application software into the install image? Or is there another method to package apps such as a web browser/PDF software/ Ms. Office so that they are installed together with the OS?
    I'm thinking of a use case where WDS is installed standalone (independent of Active Directory) and used to prepare computers before they are delivered to a customer.

    I really appreciate your videos and i have learned a lot from them. I wish only to suggest that you answer these 6 basic questions of who, what, when, how, where and why in each videos as your listeners may not know whst a concept is and why use it, and in which scenario might it be useful....Maybe my teacher mindset, but I only guess what NIC Teaming was after looking at the video and surmise what it might have been.

      Great suggestion! I really appreciate your input that means a lot to me. Thank you so much and that will be something I will consider when making more videos and tutorials.

    Thank you for this video. Would these steps work if your image file is customized? Or would this work only with an Windows installation ISO file only ?

    • @InfoSecPat
      @InfoSecPat  Год назад +1

      You should be able to customize it, and re-upload and deploy yet. I haven’t done that to be honest but I’m sure you can give it a try and keep me posted.

    Hello sir. I followed the process, but the remote install directory isn't creating. I selected the "integrated with active directory ". There is no service enabling tasks. How do I fix it?

  • @RK-ly5qj
    @RK-ly5qj 3 года назад +1

    Ok. If WDS requires a DHCP then it might get conflict with existing one.. Am i right ?

    Any plans for an updated version for Server 2022? Would be a bit difference since they are depreciating WDS and can no longer deploy a windows 11 image

    • @InfoSecPat
      @InfoSecPat  Год назад +1

      To be honest, I’m pretty much done with the 2022 playlist I have one more video to upload. But if there’s anything specific you want, just reach out and I’ll make a video on that topic.

      @@InfoSecPat Im looking to learn and implement a way to have a PXE boot with custom window images, which would be me booting to windows 11, installing things, customizing this and that and then creating a backup image and then deploying it via network boot using Windows server..
      I followed along on your 2019 series and got my DNS, DHCP and Domain all up and running... the way you teach is perfect for a person like myself..love being able to follow along with exactly whats happening

  • @fireaussie7511
    @fireaussie7511 5 месяцев назад

    It doesn't work. I'm not able to get PXE boot to work on my client machine. I get an error PXE-E53 no boot filename received. My server is not running as a dhcp server and the modem/router is running as the dhcp server.

    My question is if you are using WDS & WSUS, why would you use SCCM? is there a BIG Difference?

    • @InfoSecPat
      @InfoSecPat  4 года назад +1

      Cause its built in windows server and its free. SCCM is not so easy to setup and its paid product.

    • @RK-ly5qj
      @RK-ly5qj 3 года назад

      Sccm is waaaaay much complicated.... Cuz it can do much much more ;)

    Hey InfoSec Pat & friends! How do you make a virtual machine without an OS in vSphere as shown in the beginning of this video? I'm using vSphere/ESXi 6.7 and the step-by-step creation wizard doesn't allow this...

    • @goodforyoutv8320
      @goodforyoutv8320 3 года назад

      @alexisK23 I just used ESXi 6.7 for this. I created the blank VM by not adding an ISO to the CD/DVD Drive 1. I left the option at the default "Host Device". This created the VM with no OS. The default network configs were already set for PXE so I did not have to change anything there.

  • @christopherchiampas1958

    How did you setup your virtual network for this? I'm having a hard time booting to UEFI

  • @tecproductions7175

    Guess this doesn't work for deploying windows 11.. very disappointing they would do that

    • @InfoSecPat
      @InfoSecPat  Год назад +1

      Yeah, I don’t believe it’s gonna work. Deploying windows 11.
