Came across your videos as I got a little bored after my 3rd knee surgery, decided to buy an old gen server and have a play and expand my skillset. These have been very easy to follow for someone like me who finds it easier to learn hands on rather than reading textbooks. Thanks again.
Nice I am glad to help you out. You are welcome. I hope you get well soon.

thanks for the video! this will help me a lot on setting up printer server for our company. I have a question though on 17:52 can we place those printers in a folder? we have different office locations and it want to create folders for each locations
First of all thanks very much for taking your time to help people like me. I´m currently having some troubles configuring a Print server in a Domain. The Printer is Lexmark XM5163 but i´m not getting the driver from the manufactures website so i tried to get a universal driver from the Manufacturer. When configuring the ports , i´m not able to lselect the driver which i extracted to a location. I keep getting the message that "It driver installation could not be found." Please advice me on the next step to take. Thank you.
The slow server might be because of the storage IOPs
Thank you for your video!
I have a new printer that I assigned for new test user. it doesn't work and I think because there are many printer policies are applied for the same user. It shows me there are more than 7 printers popup in his computer. Do you think that is the reason it doesn't work or it doesn't matter?
Do you have a video on how to setup cac authentication?
Thanks i advance i really love you videos it is really usefull. can you please send me those 20 videos that you metioned in the last of the video. Thanks. 🙂😊😎🙏🏼
Quick question can you setup an ad server using a dream machine? I would prefer to keep the DM to issue IPs
Good Video
Glad you enjoyed
Very VERY helpful guides you upload. I'm trying to climb the ranks at work and systems admin is my goal.
That’s awesome 😎. I hope all my videos have been helpful. Best of luck with your journey
hi this is awesome stuff. My question is how can you automate the process and have users/groups access only certain printers ..Because in this video we have to go to both users to install the printers. How about A Logon Script that runs each time and add the users that are in a particular group certain printers
Why add the port and install the driver before creating the print queue when doing those things is already part of the print queue creation process?
I am guessing you were an admin on the machines you added the printers to? or did you set some GP that allows people to install the drivers with out Admin creds?
A like seeing people create this type of content, but I have to nitpick a little. It's been consider bad practice to use a .local domain name for a long time. This can lead issues. You really should be using a real, routable domain name or a subdomain of one.
I wanna install windows server 2019 in production environment where is there is almost 50 pc,10 printers, and i want server for file and printer sharing, file storage and back up, i dont know which licence i should buy, your help please
You're installing a non-existent printer. It's going to wait for the device probe to timeout while it tries to communicate with the printer.
What tabbed remote desktop tool are you using in this video or is it a VM manager/viewer?
It’s just a virtual machine and VMware workstation
You are so CORRECT! Today's would-be admins have it so easy with virtualization!! If we would've had this 20yrs ago, we'd be millionaires lol.
Yeah haha, Thanks for the support. I enjoyed making these videos for the IT admins out there.
I'm being prompted for admin creds when trying to add a printer from the print server. Any ideas how to fix that? The other printers that do not prompt for credentials.
Is the user that you’re trying to add the printer with an administrator? Does he have rights to do that? Please check the permissions
Hi Patrick,
thank you for this video!
Is there any way to create it in a safe way? With things like Print Nightmare around and never beeing fully mitigated?
Mine is says windows cannot connect to the printer
Maybe something is up. Please check the configuration. Send me pics on ig follow me @pdgitsolutions. Thanks
There's a substantial amount of time and talk being squandered.
For the love of God, can you people stop using "utilize" and "use" as if they were synonyms. They are not! Ex: You can use a bat to play baseball. You can also utilize a bat for self-defense." There you go; you're welcome.
