Ayurveda is a kerala's Traditional treatment style. Don't think all kerala people go for ayurveda treatment. Some poeple belive in ayurveda treatment. Others goes to hospital for treatments. In kerala there have private hospitals and government hospitals. Government hospitals provide free treatment and medicine. But private hospitals are more advanced. Rich people goes to private hospital, and middle class poeple goes to government hospital. Some peoples goes to ayurveda hospitals. Kerala has the lowest poverty population in India. So poor peoples are rare in Kerala.
That round sweet doughy thing with jaggery and coconut inside is called “kozhukotta”. Its a common evening snack that is very healthy since it use all natural ingredients and is cooked by steaming.
The combination in Kerala is Tapioca and Beef Curry. I'll suggest some other authentic dishes that are unique to Kerala. 1. Pathiri & Chicken Curry 2. Appam & Ishtew 3. Appam & Fish Molee 4. Thalasherry Biriyani 5. Mutta Mala (Egg garland) 6. Erachi Pidi (Kerala's gnocchi with chicken) 7. Payasam (Rice pudding) 8. Appam & Prawns Mango Curry 9. Fish Pollichathu 10. Sadhya (Kerala platter) You'll also find Naruneendi (Sarsaparilla) Soda Sherbet everywhere in Kerala. I recommend it in summer heat.
