My wife is from Elsalvador and let me tell you this. If she puts some food in front of me that has a Tortilla or Bread of any sort. You drop the fork and eat with your hands and ENJOY the FOOD! Period!

but both of them are made with maida. porotta is just made in layers
Porota/ parantha is a range of maida based breads made all over the country and varies region to region, kerala parota is close to laccha parantha in the North. Naan varies in the batter/dough and the cooking method.

@@JJ-fm1shIMHO, if you are really interested in authenticity, it used to be called as porotta and Irachi (meat). However, nowadays it is most commonly known as porotta and beef in most places. I have seen people in central kerala, still call it Irachi/pothu, instead of beef. So, it is upto you to call it what you want.

So I'm from Andhra Pradesh and the kerala foods here egg puffs , plantain bajji or fried plantain, parota, semiya payasam ( we even call it the same ) are all available in our state too but only beef curry is missing , we have chicken curry with it. All are amazing foods. High five kerala
I don’t know but you could get beef curry in Hyderabad, probably even in Andhra, find a Keralite and ask him, he will surely know, irrespective of his religious beliefs 😂❤
Parotta with Chicken curry is as tasty too. I like it better than with Beef.

@@SodiumSyndicateno pork is not widely used in Kerala, pork is mainly eaten by Christians and all religion whether it Hindu, muslim or Christian we eat beef so it's more popular here pork is not eaten by muslims because they believe that pigs doesn't have cleanliness as they live in clay, mud and their own waste, but prok is mainly used by Christians but we also eat goat ( mutton )but it's really cost 😂 so most of us avoid it

But they said it was the best Plantain type dish they had. And who doesn't like the crunchies made up by frying the leftover batter. Plus, even better now with the Advent of air fryers to heat leftovers. The way my mom makes it, depending on the ratios, it is different but good every time.

And those of who don’t know about semiya payasam, it’s not a food we make everyday. It’s mainly make it on our birthday or events, but more on birthdays.
1st time watching kerala recipes represented... good effort 👌
Guy what about Puttu Kadala ... Pazhampori beef, Appam Ishtu or Kappa meen vatichathu..
Hope they are presented too...
yah, the plaintain probably needs to be right out of the fryer cause when it sits there for a while it becomes soggy and blah, and the plantain needs to be super ripe.
As for the rest of it, parotta and beef is always a winner.
Things to try for Kerala food:
Kerala Fish Curry and rice
Fish Cutlets
kerala Prawn curry and pithari
Appam and chicken curry (dont know which one, but there's many types)
sadhya and fish fry (inji curry/puli inji, policheri/Moru Kachiyathu, beans thoran, mango pickle, dahl/Parippu curry, sambar, pineapple pachadi, rasam, Sambharam , pumpkin/squash erriserri)
and as for dessert, the orange and black halwa (contains ghee, cashews).

The way of eating porotta and beef 🤤the bank officer is right way of eating 😍
This is the evening snack (three p.m) after siesta, egg puff or beef puff flavoured with Kerala spices, Kerala banana (it has a red skin) and this is deep fried with flour batter and it is delicious with a piping hot cup of tea, Kerala parotta and Kerala beef fry with coconut chips prepared in coconut oil, black pepper is something we love to order as take away as the little shacks have their own little secret of preparing this and the vermicelli is a rich Kerala dessert cooked in rich full fat milk, ghee and nuts. Kerala food is yummy.
