Norm is way too modest. He should play and perform a lot more. Still waiting for ”The Norman Harris allstar band” with Norm on his beloved Hammond B3 organ.
Honestly, that was good! Always impressed when bass players or drummers sing as they’re basically singing something that has different notes to what they’re playing.
There's two theory's on the color shift of the light colored paint colors. 1) Fender put much more clear paint on the body (many coats) than they did on the head stock. Clear yellows with age, the more there is, the more it will yellow or 2) the Alder wood leeches different enzymes than Maple and that effects the color over the years.
Bring back Thumping Thursday! The yellowing is actually the top clear coat of nitrocellulose turning yellow, if you were brave enough to strip off the clear coat, the original color would come back.... and your vintage axe would be worth a lot less.
@@philipklug7784 yep only the body, that’s why you can see the decal lay on top of the headstock. and discoloration effects more when lacquer stays in dark like in cases. This Olympic White JB is in mint condition but yellowed so much so No way smokey clubs and nicotine did this.
Started out on a jazz bass decades ago. Never cared for offset designed guitar bodies, But those Jazz Basses still turn my head after all these years. That thing is gorgeous
I had a 77 in natural with a black scratch plate back in the mid 80's thought to mid 2000's. The first thing I did was take the pick up covers off. There so annoying!
It was great to see you doing GOTD Norm and doing Thumpin Thursday at that Learn more tunes and do another Thumpin Thursday every now and then Jen how bout a dare for you and host a GOTD in front of the camera? I think you would make everybodys day if you did!
Like the way Norm play ....with his hearth ...just a simple tune with a lot of felling.....me as a bass player im more focus in the felling than any acrobatic slap bullsh......you did it great....keep playing
I love that you were playing Norm regardless of how bad you think you are you're pretty good but I'd love to hear you do another video playing that 1959 organ that you got

Well whadda ya know , we finally get the old man himself out front and layin it down , well done Norm , you should plan these and be the regular thumpin Thursday guy , have someone prepared to play the rhythm and maybe share the vocal , and have a couple songs prepared to demo , I mean you did great off the cuff , the bass sounds great , and the song was recognizable when you were singing it , a little preparation would have made it so much better , thanks guys.

Just curious, do they not clear coat the headstock?
