NICE.!! I'm very surprised those tyres held together at those speeds.! When you remember the top speed of the RC they were originally fitted to was around 30 mph.! 😂
I really like this test. It's fast on 2s, I wish they would sell a little bigger foam tires. Do you think the esc was holding the 5200 back? I thought you would get @ 75mph.
Thanks for watching! The ESC is capable for these motors but the huge body shell (Desert Buggy) is holding back the speed. Im sure the 124019 will be much faster with this same setup.
@@darkki94 Yes, this test is just to show what speed you get with this rc car on-road if you use those motors and tires. For a really fast speedrun the 124019 is way much better-
I think it would be more so the stock 2200mah 2S battery. Given it would only be about 25-30C the max output would only be about 400-500W of power. A 5200kv 3650 can pull up to 900W of power so the battery will not be able to deliver enough current to get maximum power and speed.
@@druscanam I agree, also with RC Modwerks that it's getting to the speed aerodynamics starts holding it back as well. If the wind ever slows down around here when I'm off I have 4 cars ready to test. 3 of em are twin motor builds.
Hi guy ! Your video is awesome! I'm completely new to RCs, I plan to get one for my son and one for me, what do you recommend buying as a spare part for this type of vehicle? Are there any parts that deteriorate faster than others? Thx
Thanks ! Usually, the first thing to deteriorate (without crashing the rc car) if you drive it on road (cement or asphalt) are the rubber tires. If you are new to rc´s I recommend driving them first at low speed (around 30 km/h) until you get full control of the rc car. Try adjusting the Throttle Dual Rate on the Transmitter to minimum in order to drive them slower. Most owners like me usually break these little rc cars due to high speed crashes.

Try the tires an wheels from 12343 thats what I did along with a 6200 2s 80c battery stock gearing...the thing just keeps going inran out of room b4 top speed
Those motors can run 3s or 4s but the tires in this setup cannot handle the speed on 3s or 4s . Maybe I will try it using foam tires but the smaller diameter of foam tires will result to less top speed.

Nice test. I use a 3100 KV and a 120 A ESC. The wheels are the original the gears too. At 2S I have an annoying cogging. At 4s it is almost gone but extremely much power. I have a second 12418. Which engine in the same setup (120 A, original gears and wheels) do you recommend for low cogging at 2S? 3900 or 5200 KV?
Thanks. You can reduce or avoid cogging by using a good/branded ESC and lower gearing. Generally a lower kv motor has less cogging so in your case the ESC might be the issue. Which brand of ESC do you use? I recommend Hobbywing brand.

The first 124018 is for the road (racing). cogging is not so bad there. The second is then for off-road. Cogging is a big problem there. Programming with the card allows a lot.
