How do you topstitch around the areas where the elastic bunches? Stretch until it lays flat?
    Good, simple tutorial. 👍

Thank you! To topstitch around the elastic, pull the elastic until it lays flat and then sew along the inside edge of the elastic. Make sure not to stitch through the elastic, as that will really stretch it out. You're basically making a casing around the elastic. Please let me know if you have other questions!

How much liquid do they hold?

How much liquid they hold depends on the fabric type and how many layers are sewn in :) For example, heavy fleece holds a lot more liquid than flannel. And diaper flannel is heavier weight than regular flannel. Most online places will list the weight of fabric, so you can compare as they are different from place to place.

I used heavy bamboo fleece on this one, but you could use any absorbent fabric.
