The blower exhaust gas fumes from the engine bay before starting snd then you can turn it off. Open the engine box 5 minutes before adding spark and get a blower assp
@@josephcarino5829 jetskis should, but never come with blowers. Ive never seen one added either. Its suprising there isnt more explosions on them.. gotta pop the seat to be sure your not sitting on a bomb lol.
Brilliant, take the blower out which is one of the more important features of an enclosed engine boat so you can have entertainment. I suggest putting a blower back in to evacuate any combustible gasses
Put the bilge on an automatic float switch and get the blower working. Does that thing have tilt and trim? Learn some boating knots also so you don't look like a goof ball sliding your bow line up the dock post!
I am not sure what the previous owner thought the blower was used for but it is arguably the most important safety feature on an inboard boat. Without it you take a chance of exploding the boat every time you start it. The blower removes any fuel fumes from the engine compartment that may have built up that can be ignited from a spark generated by the starter, ignition or electrical systems. It's also good practice to remove an engine cover for a few minutes before starting. Also, like all boats on public waters certain equipment is required including life jackets for all on board, a floating throw cushion/ring, boat paddle, horn, and a fire extinguisher. (You may have had these and I didn't notice) Also that boat needs a marine kill switch with wrist lanyard. Check your local requirements. Happy and safe boating with a very fun little boat.
As a boater for the last 27 years I only have two recommendations. Always wear the kill switch when the engine is running. And for the love of god wear a PFD when running. Everyone. Not just in case of your own stupidity, but the stupidity of others. Things can happen in an instant and unconscious people tend to sink, until they float a day or two later.
@@fordfan6474 when some idiot plows in to you, knocks you unconscious and out of the boat, at least have your will written. Unless you live under a rock, people die every day from boating accidents because they weren't wearing a PFD.
I noticed the cracks around the engine hatch. That’s from jumping off of waves. I had the same issue. I reinforced it with several layers of glass and resin and no more issues. I also had a stainless impeller but it ventilated badly on hole shots. Sanded and polished the original aluminum impeller and polished the pump housing and it worked better than the SS impeller.
That guy's garage is sick that you picked it up from. Also make sure you always crank over with plugs in the boots you will fry the coils and pickups. Also try and find non resister plugs you will gain a mile or two an hour.
Glad to see you and your brothers having a good time together and making memories. Cherish them all. I lost my brother when he was 31. And now I am 57. Great little machine in my mind that was a bonus
Nobody on that lake, has one of those! Probably, never even seen one! That's the cool thing! All eye's will be on you! Get ready for the questions! 💯 Very awesome find! Congratulations!
That’s exactly how I blew up working on my jet ski. Checking the spark on the plugs and they ignited the fumes in the engine compartment. Burnt my entire face and 1 arm up to my elbow and all my fingers. It was bad . So it freaks me out watching people do that even when they are being safe. Thanks for the content
Amazing, although Ol' Joe loves his dirt bikes and quads, the variety of this channel is Amazing. Thank you, had looked at a Yamaha jet boat, but I am old-school and stuck with a traditional outboard. Great video, nice to see your brothers. Chuck not wearing flip flops poping wheelies
I use Klotz BENOL in all my 2 strokes. The castor bean is amazing with protecting cylinder walls. The only problem is it can gum up our foul plugs if you don't get the engine to temp often. Look up a video on what castor bean oil does when burned.
I suggest, chop the aluminum off, put in a Fish finder, and a retractable Trolling motor up font, and you are Set to go Anywhere! Espectially tight creeks! Sweet find!! Love it!!!!
Rewire that stop button to another location. The alternator on those thongs are not meant to run accessories. Best to have a separate battery(solar or charged at home) for stereos fixed tabs(about a foot long) will help stabilize the boat(porpoising)
Looked like a blast! Super rare appearance from Mrs. Vintage. Hi Jada! Vintage Jr. Brother Chuck. Surprised it didn't go down like a submarine with 3 guys in it.
Right up my alley Joe. Right up my alley… These along with the super chickens, The Kawasaki SC's have completely acquired a cult following the last five/ten years. Amazing how the popularity of these and the super chickens have skyrocketed.
I just got to the point where you said it was not very cheap. I can imagine. That one seems to be in very good condition and like I said in my previous statement, they have a literally developed a cult like following. I would imagine you paid a pretty good price for that. It's even got the "cage" for lack of a better term which escapes me right now. Not cheap at all considering how old and antiquated they are.
I bought one brand new from the dealer. He gave me a good deal because nobody else wanted it. It was great as a boat for taking the kids back-and-forth to the cabin. having at 7:50 motor is a big upgrade. Make sure you have a very low pitch stainless steel impeller that will help a lot.
Your best video yet, great to see your family. The hard-core collector pays up sometimes. A friend of mine sold a stock, low hours sand only 86' ATC 250R for $2,400 the buyer has a large collection of only Honda ATC's so I get it, but I got a 250R basket case for $350.00 I hope you get the windshield cuz where ya gonna find one?
Joe there's a wheeler in Minnesota you might be interested in. Not sure the year, but its a raptor with a 600 rocket motor in. Very well built, and comes with an extra motor. He's asking 5 grand.
That thing rips! Looks like so much fun. Built to go flat out. Whoever put the swim deck and wakeboard tower on is a legend. Might as well add some mini davits and a radio controlled tender.
5:57 ok Joe.. that thing is AWESOME. I've never seen one and I worked at a ritzy marina for years up just outside of NY.. I've seen a LOT of cool water toys.. I'm guessing you paid 8500 for that thing, heck I may be off by 10k though, I didn't look online, but man.. I know it wasn't cheap but I also know you're no sucker for overpaying even on rare stuff like that. It's not like you NEED that thing.. it is a nice to have though!! Let's see how she runs! edit: oh.. your friends asked how much it was and the tone of your voice says it was a LOT more than my guess.. maybe 12k? You know what, it's TOTALLY worth it Joe, you work SUPER hard man, CONSTANTLY putting out content AND everything else you do.. you can spend a little change now an then!!
I remember those new as a kid, my dad ran a Kawasaki dealer for 30 years. We used to take a "demo" out on Sundays in the early 90's, they were a blast to drive with the joy stick.
2vintage and coffee on a Saturday morning love it Joe !
