The message you send the author on ACX is important!!
I want to tell you about a few things you can do to increase your chances of being at the top of author searches so that you can narrate more books and make more money!
1. Write a professional message in the message area!
2. Include your contact information in the message.
3. Also include your website and zoom id.

Thank you!! Susan, when submitting your audition, in addition to the message, do you say anything about price/rate at that point? They give a range, like $200-$400/pfh. Maybe you'd do the book for the high end of that range but not the low end. At what point do you state what you'll do it for?
I think it's best to wait to negotiate payment until you get short listed or get offered a contract.

What if your just starting out and have not narratated a book yet? What should you do in that situation?

Hi Susan, Can you tell how you got clickable hyperliks in the message content? When I paste in links they just come across as plain text. What am I missing?
Hi Timothy, I don't think the hyperlinks will be clickable. The author or rights holder will just have to copy and paste the url into the browser. But, authors are savvy enough to know how to do that. So a non-clickable url is totally fine.
What should I put if I'm brand new to narration? I'm talking 0 gigs. How do I get noticed?
Samples help of course but what is going to help me get to the short list in the message?

So you would not recommend putting anything in the message section stating why the author should choose you over any other voice actor? Just the straightforward fourth message with all your info?
If you have something really pertinent, like it's a medical book and you have an undergrad degree in biology, then state that.
