    How'd you guys miss the extremely obvious token theme for the Imperium deck? There are tons of cards that make tokens from straight up 1/1 soldiers to the squad mechanic. I feel cards like Anointed Procession and Smothering tithe should have 100% been in the non-budged recommendation section.
    Other than that thanks for the awesome content! :D
    Edit: Looked through the deck and it has: 12 creatures, 3 sorceries, 1 instant, 2 artifacts, 2 enchantments and 1 land that produce tokens for a total of 21 cards. It also has plenty of cards that don't directly produce them like Hour of Reckoning which is a board wipe that hits everything but tokens.

      @@coltinyancey6420 Ah yes, she enables miracle. Unlike Marneus that allows you to draw cards everytime you make a token. And can make you 2 tokens at instant speed anytime you tap 6. Surely just a support for Greyfax.

  • @jo6253
    @jo6253 Год назад +22

    Forces of the imperium clearly has a token theme with these miracle-dudes. I'd Add Anointed Procession, Divine Visitation and maybe an Elesht Norn for the lategame-beating ("Maybe" because, she could kinda be a mess with skullclamp). Also: more spot removal like path to exile, anguished unmaking, despark and all the 3 commander- spells from the ikoria-presets. Plus: fetch- and shocklands of course since the colors are very bad at finding the right mana for the cause 😀
    The Necron Deck seems kinda bad at drawing cards, so I would add a Pact of the serpent and a Blackmarket-connection or Phyrexian arena, and maybe an OG sheoldred to get more things out of the graveyard. Also replace the removal and reanimation spells with actually playable cards like animate dead, and reanimation :D

    • @ArmageddonAsh
      @ArmageddonAsh Год назад +1

      I wouldnt add Divine Visitation. Due to the fact that some of the tokens such as Space Marine Devastator have ETB effects which can be useful. You also have the one that draws cards on ETB which again would be lost with Visitation. Ultramarines Honour Guard Gives all creatures +1/1 and if you make tokens of them and they become Angels instead, say by to all that +1/1. Anointed Procession and Elesh Norn would be fantastic options though.

    The tyranid deck is amazing by simply using Lucea as the commander and moving Swarmlord to the 99. She is so good with Ravenous. Draw two cards every time and double the ETBs and have two big creatures. Cut the irrelevant tyranids for hydra and big x draw spells and red finishers. Super good.

      @@ArmageddonAsh Ravenous is great actually, you make your deck to have as much mana as possible, and if you use Lucea you get double the cards from the ravenous.
      My hydra deck usually ran into the issue that spending 10 mana for a 9/9 is kinda shiiit, even with Zaxara giving you another 9/9. I had gigantic minions, but ran out of cards very quickly. Instead, for 8 mana you can get 2 8/8s, and draw 2 cards. The draw is what makes the deck, since you have to accept that your commander WILL die.
      Comparing to the OG hydras, ravenous is something fun and adresses the lack of resources X decks usually have. Squad is probably better, but I have no interest in running a token deck.

      There are vids showing off the foil decks. Both vids revealed the decks were pringled top to bottom (which is an improvement...?) before even opening the wrapping.
      You can fix that, sure, but it's a pretty bad offering from WotC for a super premium product. Also, the tokens are only foiled on one side. Beyond that there is the cheap cardboard counters, the standard cardboard/plastic mix life wheel, and a sense of "where's the premium here?"
      That all said, take a look. You might find you like the look of the foils.
      Personally, I can't stop thinking: For something people are paying a very large sum of money for, WotC really cheaped out.

    Entrapment maneuver is sometimes awesome against decks which are build around single attacking creatures, voltron for example. In many cases these creatures have hexproof and or indestructible and can't be blocked. Sacrificing the one attacking creature is like a nuclear bomb against this decks, often they have other support creatures they could/would sacrifice if you only would cast "sacrifice x creatures" before they would sacrifice their pumped up commander. A player in my playgroup played sometimes a Voltron Knight deck with Syr Gwyn, which was brutal if enough equipment and auras was put on her (which is quite easy to do with that commander). I had some cheap ass cards like that in my Deck which totally nuked that deck out of orbit. I guess they put the card in it for the Mono Black commander.

    Every time wizards prints cascade in commander precons they always go the route of “oh you can cost reduce big spells and then cascade into other big stuff”. I wish they would widen their view on cascade, in my opinion cascade is more fun when cascading for cheap mana values, it becomes a sweet storm enabler and you can plan out your one and zero drops to maximize your chance of getting specific stuff off cascading. Just look at yidris cedh lists and see the shenanigans they pull, cascading off five one drops in a turn

    Swap the commander with the alternate in the esper deck and add an anointed procession. Seems like just doing that would make it pretty gross 🧐

    I feel like for ruinous power a rakdos lord of riots would be perfect.. It let's us cast high mana cascade cards for less, so we can cast more.. Also sunbirds invocation.. (if it isn't already part of the deck?)

    The forces of the imperium face commander is garbage but Marneus Calgar is the true commander, the deck is basically token creatures and board wipes, and stuff to buff your own troops and more board wipes

    It's so weird that you never mentioned out of the tombs, in my deck without changes has the easy combo to bring with any card draw all creatures out of my graveyard, and kill all opponents creatures 😅 and while that actually kill all other opponents permanents including lands if I have a sac outlet on the board soooo.... But without these combos just a super fun card.

    Its painful to hear y'all completely ignore Marneus Calgor's existence. It is, in my humble opinion, the entire reason the imperium deck is the best of the four. A couple of tokens matter cards and you're cooking with grease.

    Can someone explain to me why Bolas’s Citadel is better than Necropotence? Is it the fact that you can cast the spells this turn instead of just getting a full hand of cards at the end of the turn?

    • @B1gBingus
      @B1gBingus Год назад

      necropotence is better than citadel you're right lol. Probably top 5 cards in the format.

    • @genious7714
      @genious7714 Год назад +1

      in my opinion, I prefer Bola's Citadel because you can cast the spells for free, paying with life. In my Magecraft deck it's a huge gamechanger, specially with sensei's diving top, that takes out your lands. You can go infinite if you have permanents that make you gain life when you cast spells.

    The decks are not good. Especially at the “premium” cost point. For an Increased price they should have had better cards. If they were worried about actual cards/reprints they could have just made the mana bases good…. Cabal coffers on the Monoblack Necrons as a Tomb World anyone?
