      Only the collector's versions are getting a limited run. WotC said they plan to print these decks for the foreseeable future. The professor clearly recorded this video before hearing that statement, and didn't update the video accordingly. Pleasant Kenobi's video about these decks however does mention WotC's statement on the print run for these.

      Yall didn't learn this the hard way back in the booming Commander tests introducing to us Timely Wisdom with a huge spike, ofc you can have most of these cards somewhere else, as in sets, but cheap is not a word I would use for those Fierce Guardianship and Dockside.
      Y'all talking as if reprints always = cost less or as if those Precons were not available any more? Sure the price went from 275$ to 400$ CAD over here for the 4 pack, but still available for a relatively fair price for late buyers (yes you are, we knew this was coming a long time ago in the last 2 months especially)
      Serves right the sore losers that lost their bet again or realized how wrong they were to think the decks were gonna just be mid when the Face Commanders were spoiled 2MONTHS ago.
      Thinking they had the luxury to just wait and see how it goes. You gotta be an early buyer or get over the sour grappes that you slept on it.

    I like the idea of balanced commander cards that reward deck building choices that are falling behind competitively. Tier zero is dominated by four and five color commanders. Scepter of eternal glory might do what cards like Ruxa and companions should have done in making a bigger impact on the format. hopefully we’ll see more diversified tier zero and tier one decks.

    • @gordonross3270
      @gordonross3270 2 года назад +1

      You probably won't see diversified tier 0. They rely on color gumbo for combos, and anyone that has less than 4 colors has a very specific infinite combo(s) that that commander is capable of.

If I’ve already acquired 3 plains, I doubt I would be struggling to pay for the coloured pips of my spells, where as getting. 3 colorless mana would let me cast the same MV of spells, and it wouldn’t care if I was playing some utility lands. There’s probably a case for this card in devotion decks, but I would want 70% of the mana required for the deck to be coloured.

      Prof oversold it a bit though, in that a number of the proposed commanders it could slot into don't actually work with it (anything that lets you "cast' something from your graveyard doesn't result in those spells entering the battlefield *from* the graveyard, they move to the stack first, and enter from there).

    In regards to Canoptek Tomb Sentinel, effects that let you cast cards from your graveyard like Muldrotha or Karador will not trigger it’s ETB because it’s entering from the stack, not the graveyard

    The thing that really bothers me is how these precons had an insane amount of thought and attention when compared to the normal precons we usually get.
    Also some of the reprints have been asked for by players for years and now in the very first premium commander product we get them? Kinda scummy if you ask me. Is there any reason why Talisman of Progress missed the many WUX precons we’ve received over the last couple of years or is it due to WOTC’s concern that precons would be “scalped”? Why does that concern not apply here all of a sudden?

This is HUGE, as karmic guide for the longest time was the ONLY creature that reanimates something with no downside. Having a second one is a big deal.

    I’m really disappointed that not all of the universes beyond crossover products have had this level of quality and dedication. It is clear the time and effort put into this product. The art despite being different is still high quality and evokes that magic feel. It’s unlike the previous crossover products which’s art was lacking both in quality and magic aesthetic. Even despite Wizards pushing the boundaries of magic art though the countless new showcase styles. Going forward I hope they continue this quality, but I have my doubts after seeing the Transformer crossover cards for brothers war.

    Sceptre of Eternal Glory feels really like a worse Thran Dynamo to me. It performs best in a monocolored deck, but with a mono colored deck you'll not exactly going to be in a pinch for colored mana. It's only really to have access to other colors, when you control some permanents of your opponents with activated abilities and similar scenarios. Sanguinary Priest is a worse version of Falkenrath noble. Falkenrath noble doesn't have lifelink but gives you 1 life whenever it pings. Also triggers when enemy creatures die and has evasion and is a potenrial blocker for a big flyer in a pinch. And falkenrath noble is not a card I put in my aristocrats deck, there's lower cmc options that do the job. I prefer to keep higher impact cards for the 4 cmc slots.

    Canoptek Tomb Sentinel will not trigger if you cast it from the graveyard a la Muldrotha, etc. Because when you do that it moves from the graveyard to the stack and then to your battlefield. So you need to cheat it out and from the graveyard not just cast it from there.
