Kidd doesn’t get mentioned in the best all round players enough!! This man could score from the paint, midrange and decent 3 point shooter, great rebounder for his size, top tier play maker and one of the best defensive pg’s.

      2. Nash- it's really insane how people underrate Nash's passing. He would make passes around bodies that nobody has ever imitated. He was the best fast break dime guy since Magic and his PnR threading the needle is better than anyone else EVER.
      3. Larry Bird - His half court passing is brilliant. If he played in today's era they would run the entire offense around his passing and he'd easily average double digit assists.

good takes, I personally love Kidd even over those cats because of his creativity pass to pass. The ways he manipulated the ball with his spin passes was wild. Plus, how you describe Bird in the half court is how I saw Kidd growing up a PG. Also just loved him as a hub bc he didn’t dribble out the shot clock like most high level PnR guards. He didn’t have to have the ball the whole possession to create good looks. I would basically switch him with Larry and move Nash to 4. Definitely some bias growing up watching Kidd and not Bird, my pops would say Bird as well.

Even though Steve Nash is a 2 time MVP, I would still pick Jason Kidd over Nash on my team, he is just so well rounded and just the better player period, he would make a huge impact on any era, or any system the coach would like to implement, sure being MVP is great but it does not automatically mean your the best player, because if the number of MVP awards will be the sole standard for greatness just imagine Nash is a 2 time MVP but that doesn't mean he is better than Shaq, Kobe, KD, KG AI & Dirk just to name a few who only won the MVP award once, also Nash became MVP right after some rule changes and Nash really benefited from it. Kids, watch how patient he is with the ball, and how he isn't doing any sort of dribbling other than to hide it from the defender or to move in a direction. He doesn't chuck the ball as soon as he sees his teammate. He'll take another dribble left, right, or forward to get a better angle, and he'll hold it on the break until the defender commits. Small things, but the difference between somebody like Tyrese Haliburton and the other 10,000 PGs with similar size and build who aren't as good as him.

Not completely true. Kidd in the early 2000s was the fastest point guard with the ball in his hands, which is what made the Nets so deadly in fastbreak situations. He was also a huge point guard at 6-4 and 210+ lbs. Kidd was the strongest PG in that era aside from Billups.

He had that hop in his lob pass to make that much more efficient and precise accuracy. Similar to slapping down shooting arm coming up on shot to make it more accurate on drives or moves under the board. What an underrated legend that 100% had impact on 2011 Chip Run.

Still wish the Nets could’ve figured a way to work with the Knicks and did this trade on draft night instead of what happened
Nets receive: Marcus Camby and draft rights to Nenê
Knicks receive: Keith Van Horn, Todd MacCulloch and Aaron Williams & 2nd rd pick
02-03 Roster: Jason Kidd, Kerry Kittles, Richard Jefferson, Kenyon Martin, Marcus Camby, Lucious Harris, Nenê, Jason Collins, Rodney Rodgers, Brian Scalabrine, Anthony Johnson, Brandon Armstrong, Tamar Slay, Chris Childs and Donny Marshall
50 plus win team, and gives Kidd his center for years to come instead of consistent inconsistency his entire tenure

First time I heard of Jason Kidd I was in Alameda taking a break from Cal. My younger brothers friend was talking up this guy that played at Saint Joe's a few blocks away from our house. Said he was going NBA, etc. I remember my comment was no way, he can't be that good. A couple years later who shows up at Cal, of all places, Jason Kidd. He was phenomenal at Cal bringing them to tournament and winning some games. Followed him in the NBA, great player.
