I'm in love with those quartz dominant agates believe it or not! The first one looked like so spacey with the quartz egg and black agate ring around it. Or like a crystal dino egg. Love it! Also loved the bonus cuts. Your son has great taste in rocks. Thanks for sharing dad ❤

I really like the little slabs and I'm so happy that you're making free form cabs from them. That method makes the most of the rock I think.
(What do you mean, "it's just a bug?" While weeding a flower bed today I got hissed at by a weird green and white striped beetle thing! Thought it was a snake! 😆)

I've been through 25 pounds of the pre-tumbled Bots...most of them went straight into the tumbler, but some were big enough to cut. Got some spectacular tumbled stones out of the lot, including an almost solid black stone with faint banding and a pink eye in the middle. Thinking about ordering another 25 pounds while they still have them.

Maybe that quartz bomb w eyes would be good to try + grind the husk to make a polished / partially polished eye agate?.. not sure how tricky that is. Some of my favorite Botswanas are thin flat nodules w the flat sides polished, especially w eyes 👀
