tried this... it's really effective either as a throw or set up for single leg as opponent tries too peel off your collar tie.. keep these videos coming!! much love from the UK
awesome, Jason! thanks for sharing! I really like that overhook lock from the Russian. I looks like you could hit a number of different throws with that. Also looks similar to a standing arm-triangle
Jason, what do you do when you have the russian and the guy creates distance by stiff arming your head or shoulder? I will try to pop the arm up and hit the double if I catch the stiff arm early but once it gets beyond a certain point I usually have to abandon the russian. advice?
That's a good set up to the double. I also let go of my russian and then grab it on the arm they are pushing with. This can get annoying to the opponent if I keep switching sides and it opens up takedowns. There are also throws from there depending on where there body is moving. You can let go of the russian and hit a head and arm using the arm they are pushing with. You can also grab that stiff arm with both arms, step through with your outside leg, and use your hip to push them over your leg while your leg sweeps their lower body. The last one I mentioned it very difficult to do as it require precise technique and timing.
If I force it and I am much stronger than my opponent. Otherwise, it works much better if they are pressing in since you can use their own momentum against them. I would not try it if they are stronger/larger than me and backing up.
@@JasonLayton I'm so glad you took my precious time and answer me In fact I have tried to confirm it several times. But due to lack of proper methods I cannot apply this I see all your videos your way of explaining is very amazing Your explained thing will be understood very quickly

You have any success with that head and arm finish when they are kind of backing away while stiff arming?

@@89barindersingh that was really cool; It must have to do with feeling the guy leaning into you. I’ve never done it or had it done to me...

If he posts on your head you pop the arm and hit a duck right to the body.
