Nope, that's an eye screw. See the pointy part on the bottom? It's threads are designed to SCREW into wood. Eye bolts have a flat bottom and the threads are designed for nuts.@stephenotto2294
Whenever you use a sling shot you should always wear eye protection because there is a chance the projectile stays connected to the sling and fires back at you. Lots of people have learned it the hard way, don't let it be you
So... Isn't that pretty much just how a crossbow works anyway? A long shaft with some sort of cord that you pull back, with some sort of hook or clamp to hold it in place, and a trigger mechanism to release it. The ammunition is designed to hold onto the cord well enough to stay in place but loosely enough that when the cord is released and snaps back, the projectile disconnects from the cord and goes flying. The only real difference is that crossbows, at least ones most people are familiar with, use a crank system to pull the cord back, allowing you to more safely and more easily pull the cord even further than you could manage with your fingers, providing more power in turn. But I'm pretty sure there are early crossbows that didn't have a crank and were just pulled back by hand, much like a normal bow but with the benefit of being able to lock it in place to more easily aim it.
Just gonna let you know a slingshot crossed with a crossbow is called a crossbow, crossbow is a bow that is fixed across a support that has a groove for the bolt and a mechanism to draw and release the string or rubber
lol i made one of these as a kid 40 years ago. used wire coat hanger wire as ammo and more often than not they drew blood if you got hit lol. but be careful if you make the hook to tight it can catch on the rubber band and sling back and hit you in the face.
Flatten the end of the nails and cut a notch to hook it instead of bending. Attach fly on the other head and it will shoot straight like an arrow instead of flipping in the air.
Put a shaft and flights behind the bent nail. You'll get more distance and accuracy. Thats how they made the slingshot darts for streetfights in Manila back in the day. If you got hit, theyd have to cut you up because it wont pull out
In the Philippines they’ll heat up and hammer out the tips of large nails and make a small broad head with a hook in it, like a fishing spear. They’ll take that same surgical rubber and shoot these nails after they’ve made a tail from frayed rope. I’ve never seen it but apparently there’s been numerous murders using that.
I was having am argument with my ex one day (she wasn't my ex at the time). I'd been drinking a glass of wine and I got so pissed off, I accidentally crushed the glass in my hand. Cut all my hand to sh*t.
Be careful pulling a hook back that thing could wind up in your hand before you get a chance to shoot it buuuut if you make it more like a harpoon/ arrow it would fly better more accurately and would make an ethical harvest of small game
@@OnlyFlans42 actually rubber was used around the same time as crossbows were invented, It was actually used by the olmec civilization in modern day mexico. While the chinese were making their crossbows. Most crossbows nowadays use rubber anyways. So now you and the creator can take a step back and realize he did not create anything new.
My Uncle's used to make this as kids using random scrap in Trinidad to play cowboy games lool, they made me one when I went down in 2012 and I still got it haha

ITS CALLED A EYE BOLT
This is cool but can you make it a repeating crossbow like the ancient Chinese? I imagine clips of bent nails are relatively cheap ammunition...
Really cool idea

Yeah but its not snap caps and death rays😔
Yeah it really fell off when he smashed into that cliff.

Joerg is the originator of slingbows. Respects to the GOAT

Better not hook them in
and dont have your arm in front of the “release area” things can go sideways, literally
Was going to say the same, seeing his face in line with the projectile made me tense up
@@univisiontech1same, I did something like this and the piece I was using came back and hit my ear. I would not use nails
Hah reminds me of the watermelon launch girl where she got smacked in the face
Slingshot chanell would chuckle in German, at this.

TKOR needs more videos like this,
Turning it into a fishing rod that can shoot the bait far into the water would be cool to see.

You have great ideas for problem solving and engineering. I couldn't even get started with one of the solutions you came up with. Bravo

Kinda similar yeah

@TheKingofRandom exactly the same 😂
Let's just take a minute to show respect to the original people who actually came up with this... and been using for hundreds of years .....
Vulcanized rubber was invented in the mid 1800s by Charles Goodyear
@TheKingofRandom there you go thanks 😊

I like how they figured out about spear guns lol
Yes! The original owner was like this! The other people are quirky like 5 min crafts. This guy feels right.
A crossbow is just a horizontal slingshot.
However, the original slingshot was just a string like material and a wider part for the ammo.
+99 damage
Additional rusting effect to target
-50% accuracy
we used to do this back in 92' when i was a kid. who thought it would come back to life. nice set up
Yall just reinvented the average joerg sprave tomfoolery
AHahaha! Let me show you its features.
LET ME SHOW YOU ITS FEATURES
Maybe consider incorporating a decent polycarbonate face shield/targeting reticle with the next design.
Skip to the end. Same thing just more tension in the resistance band
This is nuts... AND AWESOME!!!
Beautiful job!
Please wear eye protection! You know all it takes is that tubing to snap (which it eventually will) and then your one eyed Willy.
I'm blind in my left eye from a scissor accident when I was a kid...
"Would not recommend skipping eye protection."
90s Filipino kids made at least two of this, we just use the actual rubber as the bullet.

A crossbow was basically designed from a slingshot. So crossing the two would be un-engineering the crossbow.
Then weld sodder nail at end of hooked nail and have a point. It only needs to stay on to launch the nail pointed at target
That cackle after you shot your slingbow sounded like it could be a sound bit for meme edits.😂
Ever Heard of "joerg sprave"?

We used to make those when we were kids in the 79’s and the 80’s which thick mop handles. You can shoot nail even soda tabs.
We actually called them slingbows when we made them as kids in order to shoot varmints.
Wish he linked the original video of the people that inspired him to do this, woulda been cool
you can do
this without being unsafe, you can figure this out without being insecure
He created the Blunderbuss of Slingshots 😮
Eye protection is highly recommended with this.

It'll be fun finding those nails all over the place in the future.
You can look at establishing a climbing rope in a tree as an application. Ie have the ammunition trail the throw line behind it.
SlingBow… I like it.
This was literally me when I was 10. I built one of these. Made an actual cross bow with a real bow and then scaled up to a rocket launcher. 😂
Don't be smashing glass where dogs most likely walk 😢
I dont know anything about making things from metal but i dont think that rubber band he used to lock in the 2 nails is gonna do anything.
Must be pretty powerful to break a wineglass like that

yeah a crossbow is the next stage of a sling shot 🙈
No, rubber is more efficient & came about long after crossbows

If you bend the head of the nail, you may create a more lethal weapon to use for small game.

we made something similar as kids back in the 90s........using wodden clothes pegs and using the spring from the clothes peg as the ammo.
The reverse crossbow/backwards slingshot😮😮😮
We did that in high school with the rubber band and a paperclip
I made something similar, but much smaller and you can mount it on your arm
