As a reminder for knowledge on voice acting, This is the first time that Lex Lang 'Who did voices on Power Rangers' voices Dr Neo Cortex throughout the rest of the series, Also the final time that the late Mel Winkler 'R.I.P' voices Aku Aku.

Lex Lang has voiced quite a few prominent characters in Dynasty Warriors too, mostly Zhuge Liang. :)
Also, for any anime dub fans, Lex Lang has been doing voice work for various animes within the last 20 years, including Naruto, Lupin III and even Rurouni Kenshin back in the early 2000s (Fun Fact: Lex Lang was part of a band that got commissioned to do the first ending theme for Rurouni Kenshin when they started the English dub).
Apparently Lex Lang is also the voice actor for Goku and Black in the Bang Zoom dub.
I'm sorry but I prefer Clancy Brown over Lex Lang.
Twinsanity is one of those games I really appreciate the ambition. But yeah, what's there is not amazing.
The opening section is really really great though, infact it carries the game imo. I love N.Sanity Island in that game.

I find Twinsanity's Acapella soundtrack to be very refreshing honestly, is the sort of thing that you don't see often in video-games, is just sad that the group who made it broke apart :/

Its alright Johnny this ain't a glitch, he is just showing his dominance to Crash.
Johnny, just to put things into perspective, Twinsanity is a literally unfinished game, but it is still considered one of the best post Crash 3 games and is considered by many to be the last good Crash game before N Sane Trilogy. Just let that sink in for what's ahead.
Expectations: If Sonic's 15th Anniversary was the literal high point before the Dark Age.

@Chandler Burse it was barely a crash game, it was already a bad sing to see the wumpa fruit replaced (you dont see a sonicand mario getting ride of ring and coins respectively). I had my fun with it as monster beat'em up but not as a crash game.

“Unfinished”... huh that makes sense. There are a few dead zones in the game we’re you just die (if you run into Frozen coco you’ll just keel over), and the masks not allowing you to blow up nitro boxes
Yeah it’s really sad, there’s also videos on RUclips that show just a few pieces of the cut content that’s still in the data. I wish with all my heart that it wasn’t rushed but sadly it wasn’t to be.

When it comes to explosives still harming crash, It was made this way to avoid tanking through the gem challenges

@@Skitz0frenix MVG did a video where he shows some evidence regarding 3D All Stars being not a port but an emulation. Yeah, all three of the games, even Galaxy.

Even with the game being severely unfinished, I have loved this game ever since 2004, and if there were ever a remake to include all the cut content, that would be wonderful, because Twinsanity truly deserves a second chance.
But dang, you know when a game is rushed when they poke fun at it in the game (It should have been two new dimensions, but we...ran out of time...)
@@MSCLeap75 Disagree, the new ideas with the added storytelling were fun and also good to break away from what was already a stagnating series at the time. Now with 4 coming out a remake of Twinsanity would be even more fitting to come out now to make it that more unique.
@@islandboy9381 All Twinsanity basically did was strip away nearly everything that made Crash unique in the originals and become late to the open world story-based gameplay which was done tons better in Jak & Daxter which came out 3 years before it. Only thing really unique about Twinsanity was the humor elements which made people just like Cortex more since he carried the game, but besides that it really didn't do anything good for the series but alienate old school fans and create new fans who love it for straying away from what they perceive as limited gameplay cause the OG games weren't open world. But ironically Twinsanity was barely open world and felt more linear than the classics especially since it didn't include level select. WOC was literally one mainline game that followed the OG gameplay so I don't see how the series was kept stagnant when Twinsanity was literally the next mainline adventure game to change everything we knew about the series and then later games changed it more.
I know you seem to really love this game but a remake isn't realistic since Twinsanity sold so poorly, and greedy Activision isn't gonna bother with something that won't guarantee big profit. Why would Activision remake a game that got rid of what people love about Crash in the first place just for the sake of it being unique? They're better off just making new games maybe borrowing certain aspects from Twinsanity like they did with other games like the titans games, plus while still building/expanding the OG gameplay with new ideas to keep it fresh. Twinsanity basically changed the series into something else instead of improving on what worked before, and it pretty much fell flat cause it's so rushed and janky.

For me, this game follows the same category as Super Mario Sunshine. While an good game, it's very flawed & alot if content were cuted down that could be fixed with an remake.

The greatest thing I've ever heard about this game is "so people ask me when I speedrun this game do I run it 'glitchesless' and I always kinda laugh because I dont think you can play this game without encountering glitches"
This game and Crash of the Titans were the crash games I played the most as a kid both being some of the first games I ever completed.
Looking forward to crash of the titans when that happens
Crash of the Titans is one of my top favorites in the series and is imo way better than Twinsanity.

You’re right. Cortex was the BEST part of the game. My favorite was when he’s asked who the bad guys are and he says “I’ve ruined the lives of so many. I can’t be expected to remember them all”.
16:14 the reason why tnt and nitro crates one-hit kill you even with Aku Aku was to prevent players from cheesing the challenges to get the gems. Why they did this when the gems are optional content? No clue.

Wrath of cortex could use improvements
It probably would and it probably won't cause the game just has too many ideas that were just on paper so there's no guarantee that a remake with those ideas would be successful, plus it sold to poorly for Activision to see profit in it. They're better off making new games from now on.

This game is one of the most funny and entertaining crash bandicoot games of all time.
I honestly hope this game gets remade if crash 4 it's about time is good.

Unrelated to the game but hey, Sabrina did a pretty good job with the editing! Only criticism is that a few of the gameplay clips drag on for a bit instead of cutting away to a different one. Other than that, she did great!

RUclips recommendations:
Quick note on that Spyro game, it's his equivalent to Twinsanity in a sense. First Post-Insomniac gave us Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly which was a bugged up mess like Wrath of Cortex, while Hero's Tale is the semi-redeming 5th game that fixes the last game's issues but doesn't compare to the OG, like Twinsanity
Twinsanity is just as buggy as Enter the Dragonfly tho lol. WOC was just jankier than the originals but was the most consistent in classic gameplay.

Heroes sucks for the flanderized characters and lack of cohesion. Heck, I find the flight formation to be the dumbest thing to have on the ground, it should’ve been only for the air.
Twinsanity is actually the first Crash game I ever experienced and that was on my friend's PS2

crash twinsanity is actually the first crash game that puts on a fully cartoony style as it fits a crash game , regardless the bug and Glitchs, it would've been a historical crash game if universal just Gave them a second chance to Finnish it.

From what I remember, the nitros being instant kills were so you can't cheese through the "puzzles" needed to get gems and stuff. But there's got to be a better way than that... Maybe a third explosive type?

Despite not growing up with it when it first released, Crash Twinsanity was a game I desperately wished had more time to be finished. I'm thankful for Crash 4 and all but I do wish we'd get another Crash game with similar level design as Twinsanity because I think that truly is the next natural evolution for the series to go in.

if we get another crash remake i want this game to be next(outside the gba games this is my favorite post naughty dog crash games & cool that even one of the makers wants to bring it back,i hope he sees this.) with all it's original content after it's about time has enough "time" to have it's success as i love it's music(along with sunshine my favorite acapella.),ambitious open areas,the last time we saw aku aku's voice actor before being voiced by grim's,dr. neo cortex being even funnier(i love both voice actors for him,really enjoy him as much as dr. eggman/bowser in the rpg's and twinsanity's humor in general felt like a nickelodeon/cartoon network around the cn city era game especially with the music.:3),nina cortex(would love to see her be playable again & kinda prefer her here than later games where she's basically Wednesday addams mixed with mandy.) and the continuity lead in it has with the previous games.(all the villains including strangely crunch and the polar bear in a neat nod to that secret showing up even though i wish you got to fight them all,cortex knowing wrath of cortex flopped trying to haggle with the penguin minions and him/his base/uka uka being frozen from it's ending.)
The last two games beore the remakes were Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant; they are such a departure from previous games, but i find them actually really fun to play.
They really feel like Activision had a game concept and placed the Crash license on top of it to see if it would sell well

my personal favorite crash game & a game i asked johnny to review nearly a decade ago. crazy thinking about how long i’ve been a fan of the big guy.
Yeah, Aku Aku not shielding you from Nitros and TNTs is a bit odd, but i'm guessing the developers quickly realised how easily you could cheese/speed up the gem puzzles if you could just run face first into them. So it was probably the right decission.
I love twinsanity so much despite the cut corners ^_^
I really hope one day it gets the insane trilogy treatment with the cut content added in

If I recall correctly, the Vice Verse Reverser Device was indeed the subject of cut content. I think there was supposed to be an ocean level where Crash would pilot the Mecha-Bandicoot in order to destroy it. I'm guessing they couldn't just remove the reference to it since it's in a prerecorded cutscene. The prerecorded cutscenes appear to have been finished way ahead of time, since you can see some stuff in them that's inconsistent with the in-game graphics. For example, in the cinematic where we meet the Evil Twins, Farmer Ernest's farm is on the beach rather than up on a cliff.
I remember being in a special needs summer camp and seeing the other kids playing this on the Xbox. I didn’t play it as I wanted to play Sonic Mega Collection Plus.
Twinsanity is my favourite crash game ever. I remember playing through it with my sister and loving all the hilariously stupid shit that happens. Glad to see another review of it, keep up the good work man.

This game and WoC are held up on such high pedestals yet they're glitchy, floaty messes.
No it's usually Twinsanity that's held up on a high pedestals and is the most glitchiest. WOC just gets dissed on a lot for being similar to Warped.

In original storyboards when he knocks her out he's already in a set of her clothes, but in the final version you see his arm in his normal outfit, so... as weird as it is, I guess he did

If you ever decide to dive into Spyro I'd like to see your thoughts on Hero's Tail. It's much like Twinsanity in that it's a better game than it's broken/unfinished previous entry. It's also a diversion in a gameplay sense like Twinsanity's more open world design.
Love this game so much. The characterization, how much screen time Cortex gets, how best girl is one of the 3 main characters.. if it got remade and was properly finished I'm sure almost no one would dislike it anymore. Such a great idea for a game that never got the chance to be fully completed.
Hearing the development of Crash Twinsanity made me think of the same thing that The Emperor's New Groove went through before it was released.

After Antdude did this game an injustice, I'm so glad Johnny finally picked it up and gave it the accolades (and criticisms) it deserved.
It seems that Toys for Bob took a lot notes from this game and applied some of the concepts that were introduced in this game and put in Crash 4. Honestly I would love to see a remake of this game come out in the near future. I haven't played this game before, but from what people are saying it looks like their are a lot things that they can put into the game that wasn't there before.

The Oxford team being behind both this game and Super Monkey Ball Adventure makes a lot of sense, the 2D art looks extremely similar and I'm pretty sure the game engine is the same too
Oxford team kinda reminds me of Sega Studios USA ( the guys that did Shadow and Nights Journey of Dreams ) They both got to make 2 games only before closing down
I remember getting this game as part of a 3-pack that also had Nitro Kart and Tag Team Racing bundled together.
If memory serves, one of the writers for this game formerly penned things for Ren and Stimpy, so that might've been where much of the good comedic timing came from.

Younger me would highly recommend Spyro A Hero's Tail.
One of the things that was cut from this game was an Evil Coco, and sure, we've seen Evil/Dark Coco pop up in a few other things...but not like she was gonna be in this game. 10th Dimension Evil Coco was like fiery red, wore skimpy black leather, fishnets, and was overly flirtatious ("Mom says real men prefer their Coco hot and bitter." - Evil Coco)
And sooooooo...yeah. If it means we might get her back, I am 110% on board with this game getting the N. Sane treatment.
for the sake of Combing characters, why not make The Fakes Crash & Coco's Evil Counterpart.

tbh I always wanted to see the Traveller’s Tales mascot in a Crash game. He looks like he would totally match.
Ah yes Twisty, another childhood game I admire the most as a kid and the 3rd Crash Game I enjoyed the most unless ya wanna count The Huge Adventures. I'll always admire the Soundtrack Itself and before ya ask; yes this was my very 1st time I got to hear the word "Acapella" (and for some reason It reminded me of Nickelodeon's Doug *pretends to forget that the Disney Version doesn't exist despite remembering the movie the most as a kid but again I was still new around the early mid 2000's back then*) and have been admiring ever since and now In normally listen to some other Acapella all thanks to *Saturday Morning Acapella With Doves!*''
If Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Times does well enough then who knows what Crash 5 would still be like rather It'll borrow some similar elements to Twinsanity or not but don't mind a Spiritual Succour outside of just some any old Remastered that other that were begging for years. Even If they still wanted to make a remastered version of Twisnaity at one point I wouldn't mind seeing all the concept being unscrapped and retooled to good used along with the story they originally were gonna good for despite ripping off some elements to Ratchet and Clank but If not still want see Crash 5's newfound take of the series. R.I.P. half to the characters of Twinsanity that couldn't been reintroduced Into Nitro Fuelled; mostly Madame Amberly, Evil Crash, Evil Coco (If they ever planned on reviving and retooling her abit her), The Farmer and of course one of my personal favourite underrated villains; The Evil Twins.

Oh a different editor? I was wondering why the editing on this video felt off. Cuts and timing felt off so some of that Johnny dry humor gets left on the cutting room floor. Definitely don’t want to put anyone down, I just hope they continue to improve if they’re going to be a regular editor for the channel.

Sabrina did an excellent job on the editing on this one. Really good review, glad you finally got around to this one. It's one of my favorites...even if the rising acid level in Classroom Chaos caused me to break a PS2 controller. Glitch or not, kid me was NOT good at that section.
3:43 - 4:20 feels a bit off. It feels like someone took some random footage from the game and put your voice on it, instead of it being related to what you are actually talking about. Some random footage from the gba games would fit better in here. Is this bad? No but for johnny it felt a bit off.
yeah i'm glad the ending told me i wasn't going crazy when it seemed like johnny himself wasn't doing the editing this time around, no offense to sabrina but i definitly prefer johnny's "personality(?)" when it comes to how he edits his review videos
@@Exmotable I disagree, I think Sabrina did a well enough job for a first timer on this kind of thing. Though, I do agree that there were times that I felt like she should've used more appropriate footage or have more cuts. There were several times where it was just Johnny talking over long, uninterrupted footage that kind of gave me amatuer reviewer vibes. Though, Johnny also admit that he isn't good at directing either so perhaps next time, he can also improve on that front.
I think she's almost there, just need to improve on some smaller things when it come to editing.
Yeah, the video edits don't feel have the same energy as previously, before I learn that you outsource it to Sabrina. Not a bad editing by any means thought, it's good enough. I do hope she can manage to capture to Johnny's editing style.

You've never heard of Spyro a hero's tail johnny?! That's one if my favourite Spyro games! Definitely hope you could review it's in the future soon maybe even next:)
