It saved my bike from getting nicked I had 3 locks on that's the only one they could not get off so only managed to take my bike a short distance and I was able to recover it.
It’s a more than decent alarm lock. All these people commenting that it would still get stolen if they want to... of course. It’s called a deterrent alarm , not preventive theft alarm. But it will give me time to arm myself and neutralize the thief. A couple of seconds is all I need.
hey! great review! I know I am a few months late but I just thought I'd add that: while you don't need it on an alarmed lock and it makes unlocking it without the alarm going off harder, the shape of the keyhole makes it harder to pick the lock!
Thanks for the video, i just ordered mine... every lock will open under the right pressure, but this alarm inside a garage or in front o my office will clearly draw attention..
Another issue is you can cover those grills with your fingers to dampen the sound. Other than that looks like a solid piece but you do need more than one good deterrents
Another + on this lock is that the shackle is big enough to fit it on a big chain. If someone tries to mess with the chain, the alarm goes off. 💪🏻 I got the Kryptonite Fahgetaboudit 1415 and the Abus Granit Power Chain 37 14KS black loop.
had one of these for 10 years still going strong it outside all year as well i don't use the alarm so not sure if thats still working chunky lock though 👍👍👍👍👍
Good review! One thing I had done to help with keys like that is putting a red sticker on one side. So I know if my right thumb is on that sticker, I know I am holding the key the right way. Prevents a little embarrassment!
Bent two disks first two months after buying my bile because i was lazy to put the reminder cable. Once the disk is slightly bent the front wheel will not turn freely and will make noise. Forget about fixing the disk once it's damaged.

Ofc, that's an option. However, I'm pointing out what the pro's and cons are. Everything can be fixed by yourself, that doesn't make something a good product.
I have one of these locks ,but even when the key is inserted the correct way around I have to jiggle & struggle with the key to insert it fully & turn it .The Alarm is for me to hear ,the general public will take no notice of any alarm ,they are not going to risk struggling with the criminals over a strangers motorcycle & possibly getting stabbed .If anything the alarm going off is more likely to annoy people .Also a disc lock on its own will not prevent your bike or scooter being lifted into a criminal gangs van ,you should always lock it with a secure chain to a secure immovable object in a well illuminated area in plain view of CCTV cameras .This will only put off opportunist thieves ,if professional thieves target your bike they will get it one way or other .
You should still put a high quality motorcycle cover over your bike even if you have chains or locks with or without alarms cause at least they can't see anything at first and they might just keep it moving cause it's not as easy since they can't see it. I put a big huge quilt over my motorcycle and then use the all seasons high quality motorcycle cover over top of that especially if i have it outside thru the winter. Don't make it easy for thieves And also use a tracker just in case is does happen.
It gives you about 5 seconds before the alarm starts. Lately the alarm is sounding for even a little bit of wind so I'm not as happy as I was when I first bought it.
Thank you, great review. Although I wonder why indicate on the lock if it's alarmed or not? Kind of a flaw, if it shows you the red arrow positions it also shows them to the thief !!!😂
Good question, didn't think of mentioning that! It uses a few (4 or 5 not sure) button cell batteries. They come with the package at first. I've had my alarm for almost 2 years now and didn't have to replace them yet. But I don't use the alarm super often since I only ride for pleasure. If you use it on a day-to-day basis it will probably not last for 2 years.
@@pauldavies9360 Most times jobs like that happen when it's dark 😨 and not often in broad daylight. With all the lock picking shows out there and how fast it could be done, the only only solution that came to mind is giving an obstacle.
I think best security is a tracker device that when the alarm goes off it sends notifications to your phone so you can run outside with a weapon and protect your bike even when you’re sleep
I obviously didn't try that, but it's thicker than my chain so I think it will do just fine :) Everything can be cut, you just have to make sure that your neighbour's lock is weaker ;)
Would be thief, oh look, the arrows arnt on the same side......what a stupid idea...Would have being better to mark the end of the U bolt so when its locked you cant see what state its in.
You mean that they will be able to see if the alarm is armed or not? That's true, although I doubt that many thieves know this. Plus, it's not a bad thing as long as you lock it with the alarm in place! I only use the 'non alarm mode' when I'm transporting my lock or when it's just laying in my garage.
This should never be your only lock. Takes 30 seconds to smash off with a hammer, easy to cut, thieves are so brazen the alarm is only minor deterrent… get a ratchet strap and a bag for the back.
Mark one side of your lock and one side of your key. Then you will always insert it correctly.
Totally agree ... As those Cons were being described i just said to myself get some coloured electrical tape ... Sorted.
It saved my bike from getting nicked I had 3 locks on that's the only one they could not get off so only managed to take my bike a short distance and I was able to recover it.
Keith Dainton not even joking but this is the exact same thing that happened to me ! Besides the fact it was my moped !
How cheap were your other locks 😅
@aps-pictures9335 yes pretty cheap if I was going to buy a lock today I would only buy a diamond standard lock .
No bull sh*t and rambling about non sense. I appreciate the straightforward review 👍🏻
New locks now have a red ring instead of the arrow on the shackle
Fijne recensie, dank je tim👍🏼
Great review in a matter of minutes.

Favorite part was when he said to put the reminder cable to your steering wheel.

Exactly! Glad my video helped and hope this will keep your ride safe. Enjoy!

Just get a permanent marker to mark which way the key goes in :) They got rid of the red arrow now, with something much easier to see.
I've read this lock gives false alarms forcing people to not use the feature. How have you found it?
Bent two disks first two months after buying my bile because i was lazy to put the reminder cable. Once the disk is slightly bent the front wheel will not turn freely and will make noise. Forget about fixing the disk once it's damaged.
Pretty much all keys only go in or work one way! As for the arrows, you said how difficult it was and then demonstrated how easy it was lolol
Doesn’t seem very loud on this video? How many dB is it, supposedly?

Bro that key feature makes it anti drill proof
So never thought of wrapping it with red tape, or possibly heat shrink ya self?

It would be annoying if you have to unlock it and it goes off can you try it so it does not go off when unlocking it?

Kom ik je ineens hier tegen, van alle markten thuis deze man 🤣.
Thank you, great review. Although I wonder why indicate on the lock if it's alarmed or not? Kind of a flaw, if it shows you the red arrow positions it also shows them to the thief !!!😂
And what will the thief do then? Walk further? Isn't that what you want?
How do you charge that alarm?

My nitpick about this item is that you can simply just cover the album with your finger to control the noise
True but that's going to slow the thief down and make it super awkward to get the lock off with 1 hand.

Does the alarm turn off after a period? I wouldn’t want that thing going off for too long if I’m away?
Haven't tried that since it's too loud to just try around people. I might give it a try away from the city.
Whats the model of your bike ? Looking good :)
Honda Hornet 2011 (cb600f)
@@motorgearexpert5252 also did how long do your batteries last for the lock ?
the thing about the key is common sense it go's one way for a reason so it harder to pick.
If they want you bike really bad they'll just put it on rolling stands and break the locks later. GPS along with this is great.
you r promoting OXFORD lock that's good, but can you tell me is it ANTI-ACID? is it ACID PROF LOCK?
Wtf $110?!?!?! Is it possible to cut through this with bolt cutters?
0:34 what if you just mark your key on one side and you know which is correct way 🤣
I had the same idea.
Steering wheel?? LOL ;)
My question is, if Smbdy touch it and the alarm will start, it will stay forever? Im thinking if i park the bike faraway from me
I don't know, didn't try.
No, it stops alarming after a few minutes
I think best security is a tracker device that when the alarm goes off it sends notifications to your phone so you can run outside with a weapon and protect your bike even when you’re sleep
Because theif will take your bike even with locks on it
Mate it's called handlebar on a bike, not a steering wheel!
Looks easy to cut with bolt cutters 🤔
I obviously didn't try that, but it's thicker than my chain so I think it will do just fine :)
Everything can be cut, you just have to make sure that your neighbour's lock is weaker ;)
It's 14mm thick hardened steel good luck
It’s too easy thief will cut the break pad disk
Lock Picking Lawyer picked this lock in less than 1 minute without setting off the alarm.
Would be thief, oh look, the arrows arnt on the same side......what a stupid idea...Would have being better to mark the end of the U bolt so when its locked you cant see what state its in.
its not that great with the red arrows, it shows a thief if the alarm will go off or not which i think is absolutely stupid!

Those cons are pros
If the thief put his fingers over the alarm "sound speaker" then its not that loud any more. BIG CON..
