- Lever action blasters! I finally got enough to do an episode thanks to Jake and the Curator (which sounds like a movie from the 90's...) I finally had a blaster break! This is the end of Season 4 so I will have a special episode soon and then start on the next season.
The small thing I found in the Slingfire is a Lego wheel.

The rapid tech was my first "nerf" modding project back in university. The magazine broke so I took it apart. Replaced the spring, made a leather sling, and modified the breech so it loads from the top in honour of the martini-henry. It served very well as a back up for several zombie survival games, and a personal primary for melee vs single shot rounds (forming firing lines with single shot long arms was a popular tactic as most of us were reenactors and history enthusiasts so we had the discipline and inclination to pull it off).
nice dude
wish I could find one these days, i have a really old one but almost no luck finding a new or even broken one on the internet
Bf1 flashbacks
You should make a video about it if you still have it or at least post pictures im interested into making one
Ah jammed good will blasters. Brand new rapid strike for 3$ why? because a kid managed to jam parts of a mega dart in it. No idea how or why but hey 3$ for a 5 min fix, no complaints here.
Whered you get it?
CourierDoge good will
Lol
But what if some 5 yr old kid who dident know how to mod got that jammed blaster it would be a waste
I got a hyperfire with its drum mad for 2.79 at an Idaho youth ranch, all I has to do is put some hotglue on the flywheel switch
That gold piece from the slingfire is a lego motorcycle wheel
Desc. Says that. Also apparently it's a sledgefire.
@@selenamarkham3093 nah the sledgefire is a shotgun. this is the slingfire. look it up
@@shronkthestupendous4737 yeah but @Selena Markham apparently doesnt
"Apparently"
Selena meant the description.

Me?
It’s soda not beer I’m pretty sure
ITS ORANGE JUICE
It is actually an Orange Cream Soda.
The rapid Tek is one I actually own and have a k26 in it with almost all of the internals made from metal I did it as a personal project in my machining class in highschool.

Skittles
Coffee
K26
Blasters
Bolt cutters
Actually...despite living in the Seattle area...I do not drink coffee...the rest is correct. :D
Ralph B don't forget fanta!
Oh I thought that's what the drink was whoops XD

Free LEGO!!!
Catpirate hello again
Literally upon seeing it roll out I was like "The hell is a LEGO doing in there?"
Yees free lego
Correct
I always enjoy the words "For those of you keeping score at home...."
Yeah?
The Sentinel looks so much nicer with an extended stock. Sentinel Union!!
Am I the only LEGO nerd that laughed at the slingfire xp
Brain loaded
Reagan’sWildWorld I did
I just laughed my head off because of that
Nope
Nope
I've had shells like that for years and never knew what they were for but now I know
If you have both the rapidfire rifle and a spare predator that you don't care about, you can use the predator's spring and intermesh it with the rapidfire. You can also use the predator's o ring in it, as the predator's ring is slightly thicker. Then just do the AR removal from the shells and you get stellar performance while maintaining tacti-cool shell ejection.
hello captain.
HUZZAH
Huzzah...indeed...
Captain Xavier can a box of skittles take a k26 :)
Wyatt Kane yes, but it doesn't improve the range much :(
huzzar is not really what i do, a battlecry yes, huzzah nah
EnderBoy 03 0
that cut was clean. I had to rewatch it to see it
I have an idea that I know will be an absolute challenge and probably a pain
Do a nerf centurion
blackdog1232 its reverse plungered and thus will not work.
Teleportato Bulletstorm if that's true, that's a load of ass. honestly, a centurion (if it were direct plunger) would be terrifying with a K26 sprong in it.
Its overly complex gearbox would just explode. I suppose if you did a big change to the internals?
rebarrelled well sledded for elites and they are fairly scary stock tbh
i know its reverse plungered, and sealed, that's why it would be a challenge,
Does anyone wonder why someone put a lego in a nerf gun
Was he/she like ‘hey imma put a lego in my nerf gun! What a great idea!’
Ik right
Just laughing my head off about that a lego wheel jammed the sling fire
Speaking of metal casting, i know it'd be heavy as all hell, and very impractical, but could you theoretically make molds out of and make a full metal copy of a nerf gun? I'm pondering the idea out of boredom
For the slingfire it would be pretty easy to make a stronger lever, the only problem would be the gears.
The intro of him slamming his hands on the table scared me to death! 😃
Also, SKITTLES!!!
Hey that Golden thing in the sling fire was a Lego wheel
The lad who donated it to Goodwill, STUCK A LEGO IN IT! *BOI!*
who remembers when the slingfire was really new and cool and stuff
Yopedi P just got one for free, favorite blaster so far
Loved it got one for my birthday and I made needle darts so fun

Awww yes, the orange sofa and skittles
You found a lego wheel in a jammed slingfire, damn dude what a steal!
Right?!
It's just a wheel I have 100s come get some
potato brains okay necromancer
That thing in the sling fire looked like a Lego wheel
7:50 well quite frankly, it doesnt, tbh
He did say the preference agree with him.
great video as always
That thing in the sling fire is a Lego motor cycle wheel
Why is this in my recommendations🤣
You probably search for "lever action" at some point.
@@CaptainXavier i searched "how to mod a disruptor" then your videos came
Nice
Skittles, orange soda, and k26'd Sentinel. Damn fine day to relax with the hippest captain this side of the 'verse.
I was surprised at the buzz bee rapid fire tek. Great potential for functional cosplay. Just need to get the proper dimensions to get us metal priming bars...
I also think people should look into making custom catches that fit the magazine nerf blasters that fit the k26. Perhaps another small metal project when you reach that point?
Have you got a buzz bee Reaper floating around? Would love to see how that one handles.
I agree. I want to do a Semi-Steampunk Wild West Nerf Loadout using the Rapid Fire Tek. I know the Sentinel is a better blaster but the shell feature is just cool.
I apparently have someone who might be able to make me a metal priming bar. Alternatively I could jsut not be greedy and go with a slightly lighter spring...
I would love better mag releases. They would not be hard.
I do not yet. The Curator found one at Goodwill the other day. I hope to eventually.
Nerf dubull strike is better for steam punk
olj
That's beer
yay! fanta and skittles are back!
Skittles, yes. Fanta, no. This is far fancier than that. This is Henry Weinhard's Orange Cream. :P
This man knows good soda.
I am here just to learn about modding and spring upgrades and for a chance to see blasters break XD
I had a rapid fire tek as a kid and I instantly fell in love with it
How about making the Sentinel's Lever more oval where it hits the back of your fingers like the Slingfire's lever, padded for comfort, and still made out of metal as an upgrade for the Sentinel?
The only reason why I would get the Slingfire is the shape and comfort of its lever. So if it was made out of metal, it would also need to be padded.
ive seen videos around somewhere for some hardware to fix up the clutch in the Slingfire to do a spring upgrade. it does however, as you said, restrict the ability to fling it around and do tricks -- which is the reason i personally want the blaster. it looks really fun to play with.
I have a few ideas in mind for a back up primary that is based off of the sentinel either a spencer carbine repeater or Winchester model rifle. It is difficult to distinguish what the exact one I want to is as in the movie, White Fang, 1991 it is unclear what the main character Jack uses as his primary. And yes, it will be stock performance and color scheme.
i love these videos
Beer and skittles best combo ever
Ayyyyyy there's the orange soda and skittles
I did not think to put a sling fire stock onto a sentinel thanks capitan!
Can't wait for rival blasters
Imagine stock blaster only round and you run around with a retaliator stock just hitting people!
With the sling fire I have ours jammed up also and I brute forced my way through it and now the gears are striped
Edit: didn’t know there was a clutch probably go to try and fix it after this video that is
I had one of those buzz bee blasters, the plunger rod also broke on that one with the stock parts.
first I thought it was a black longshot XD ... but cool episode !! keep it up !
The slingfire might be mine I remember jamming mine and taking it to goodwill
when i was little i didnt use the magazine i just inserted a shell each time
"boink! i'm a force o' nature"
MTB made a really good brass breech for the sentinal so that coupled with k26 would be INSANE
The Rapid Fire Tek K26 failure is exactly how mine is broke.
I know this video is a bit older at this point, but I've just watched it.
One tip I could offer is that while I see many people upgrade many aspects of blasters, not one in memory has taken the stance of getting a good machine shop involved in making much more durable internals.
In the case of wanting to simply go all out, my idea would be as follows (I come from a background of working with machining and hydraulics for the past 6 years or so):
The Buzz Bee Sentinel could use a steel priming rod with either a integrated piston head, or a brass piston threaded onto the end of the steel rod. Pair that up with a brass plunger tube/breech assembly and you'd have a bullet proof setup. Now I want to do that, lol.
There are folks who have go to that level. Either machining or casting metal parts. I would love to have some metal parts for some of my blasters but honestly I don't feel it is worth the money or effort. I don't play in competitive enough games to justify that level of fine tuning. That being said...if you do manage to come up with those parts...let me know!
I'm both surprised and not surprised that the rapid fire tek (and yes that's what it's called, I had one) couldn't take a k26. I had taken mine apart and knew the spring was pretty beefy. But the reason I had taken mine apart was because the plunger rod had snapped and caused the lever to get stuck.
Reeks of AvE! Haha! Nice work sir!
That wobbly Slingfire lever happens to stick to a magnet.
...Brilliant!
life is obviously all beer and skittles in your world :P
sweet thanks captain
That gold bit in the slingfire is a Lego motorcycle wheel.
Somewhere, Somehow, he has a pile of nerf blasters jacked up with k26s.
To the sentinel was my first dart blaster, and that looks exactly like my friend’s design cause I gave mine to him
On the Slingfire, you can run a Magnus sprin for a sizeable increase in power. It'll bring the Slingfire up to Elite stanards, but that's as far as I've ever taken it.
It is called the rapid fire Tek I know because mine has a sticker
The gold piece you found is from a lego motorcycle wheel. It's a rim.
thirty-third. JK. great to see you finally got around to the lever action blaster. #sentinalmasterrace
I found a jammed slingfire at Goodwill too! It was terrible. They had clearly attempted to force the mag out by prying at it with a screwdriver. The mag was pretty much ruined but I got the blaster functioning again.
They are finicky beasts. I think I have found 2 or 3 jammed ones at Goodwills so far.
After I fixed the jam it still felt sticky so I figured the mechanism must have just been really picky and that's what led to the jam. Oh well, I didn't get it for its modding potential I just like it.
When the levers jammed their is a button on the side. Hold that button down and push the lever forward.
The sentinel was the first nerf gun I ever owned. It stayed with me for 6 years until my friend got mad and threw it to the wall breaking it
I haven't upgraded the spring my Sentinel, but of the guys I know that have, they reinforced the loop on the plunger tube that the lever hooks to. Those who haven't have reported it failing, including when using a K26, if I remember correctly.
something you can do if you have a long shot front gun you dont care about you can take it apart and the barrel inside the front gun fits perfectly in the barrel of the sling fire
Nice use of the mountain king reference
Oooh, love the add-ons for that Sentinel! Might just try that out for mine...
For concerns, I'd say 'Reinforce your Sentinel's plunger Rod, and pad it'. Even if the AR's in there, the padding can help keep it working longer, and of course you'll want to reinforce the length of the rod, the divet in the head, etc with some sort of strong putty or epoxy. I use epoxy for lightweight reasons.
Alongside that, the things're stupid easy to brass breech, and work wonders when using either those pre-made stefans or full-length darts. Every little bit helps.
Thanks! I plan to do some work on it here in a little bit so I will take all your advice!
T3XT3ZZY_NERF have you considered chopping off the front section of the buzzbee blaster and using that on the sentinel to make it look more lever gun like ? I might have to do that myself if I can get ahold of a sentinel
I've actually opted to use the front end of the Ultra-Tek Predator, given its' wide diameter and the neat venting up front, give my brass breech some protection and style. The front of the RFT might look better though, I'll do some work of my own, there. Best of luck, either way!
Skittles and beer hell of a combo I guess
When he shoots his gun I lean back
another great video! wanted to give a heads up about those buzz bee magazines, they are great, but they are not 100% compatible with all blasters, at least stock. the stampede has a funky magazine lock that can refuse to release the buzz bee magazine. I had to butterfly my blaster to diagnose and fix it. not sure if any other blasters have that issue, most seem to be fine..
PS, just checked and it's the lock closest to the trigger, the thin shim above the magazine release gets caught
Good to know! I was not planning to use Buzz Bee mags in my Nerf blasters but rather Nerf Mags in my Buzz Bee blasters. Thanks for the heads up!
It was a lego. Wow I never knew that could name it
2:14 at the moment you said this I immediately looked at the stock end, which was orange in the beginning of the video and now it's green
The weird object you found in the sling fire is a Lego motorcycle tire.
ohhhh shit the slingfire, niiiice
I love his k26 series
Sling fire is my personal favorite blaster
Imagine how good the Slingfire would've looked if it had a long barrel
I don't have to imagine. Check out my long barreled Slingfire video. ;)
The Slingfire can take the very beefy spring from Andrea's Rifle from Buzzbee. Definitely gains performance but loses accuracy on not waffle tip darts. It's ctually the same spring as a stock Alpha Trooper except the Slingfire is two coils longer.
Love dem skittlez
The first zombie strike gun I sawed off a part of the stock so now it has a little resemblance to the model 1887 mares leg
@11:10, don't bother metal casting it - get some valves w/stems for a V8 or something else that'll fit (with as many engine manufacturers as there are, you can find one that fits) and hook an adapter to the priming mechanism (plastic socket epoxied to the stem, etc). You can seal the gap with gasket, and have a metal plunger. The reason you can get away with a valve stem is that you're not going to explode anything in the blaster, and you don't want to try a full-on piston because you don't want to deal with the excess inertia from the unneeded mass.
The yellow thing you pulled out of the first one was a Lego motorcycle wheel without the tire.
I have a mod for the Sentinel. Add a switch that allows you to make it slamfire. A sting for the bolt to the catch with some slack and a tensioner on a switch.
oh jeez Rick you doing this again
I think i hve a good lemon because mine functions perfectly and even pinches a little bit more than other blasters
You should 3D print a new stock for your Slingfire since the stock and already one piece you can make it look like a sawed-off shotgun make it have a stock point so you can put a different stock on it
The slingfire is one of the most common Nerf guns that can get jammed my cousin got one for Christmas next day it was jammed but that is very easy to unjam it if you just forcefully push forward the the reload thing and then pull it back that's the easiest way to fix it
that my blaster I hope have fun with it
that gold thing in the sling fire is a Lego wheel piece from a car.
YAY SLINGFIRE K26
There were 15 to 17 of the rapid fire tek brand new in box at my local goodwill.
Okay, so can you do a series about how much spring all blasters can take until they break? You would say what is the max, and what happens when you go beyond that. I really want to see you do it with the doubledown.
buzz bee shells automatically have air restrictors so that was not the cause of the breakage probably.
I have one of those rapid fires that feed the shells
