Even though it's meant to be for smaller children and not meant to be groundbreakingly powerful, I do like the look of these Elite Junior blasters. At least the Rambler
Honestly I kinda want to get a bunch of flyers for a "bucket of pistols" game, just because it'd be a hoot for how ineffective these blasters are.

I feel like the upgraded pistol at the range with the chili/watermelon darts make it quite obvious how much hasbro needs to improve the elite darts.

@@user-crane They don't even need to make just Accustrikes. Either fill the hole in the side or add a second hole. Adding a second hole would probably be the best bet so it could stay hollow and soft, but improving accuracy. Mega XL is fairly accurate, all things considered and has two holes in the head
@@dogdog357 Unfortunately, my understanding is that the hole in the head doesn't actually do much aside from letting it compress more easily. the problem is that the heads of elite darts are too light, causing a poor weight balance.

I prefer calling them watermelons as well, but I _think_ the reason they're called chili darts is because the long narrow body and short tuft of green at the end can evoke the stereotypical image of a chili pepper at the right angles.
Rambler sure is pretty
looks like the grip is a separate shell assembly, so potentially could replace it with a larger one....
I think there's a niche for modding these, for people who have reduced motor function. Not enough that they need something like the Prometheus' you molded years ago, with the one big "slap it" fire button, but enough that they lack the manual dexterity to use single-finger triggers and pull-primes.
I'm shocked it's not solvent welded.

I didn't even realize Elite Jr was a thing until this video, and yet these somehow appear to have better overall construction than a lot of the 2.0 series. Quite odd. No o-rings is another odd one, I haven't taken apart many blasters yet but that is one of the first times I think I've ever seen such a thing.
It was quite common in most vintage blasters. I hadn't seen it in a long time either. I assume it was a cost reduction thing as it eliminates an entire material (rubber) cost. Who knows.

@Hans-Dieter Krebs Interesting! I'm still fairly new to modding but I did rip apart a Tiger DB-2 I got for literally a dollar at Goodwill and it (I believe?) had an o-ring for the plunger head, so seeing something with no o-rings definitely caught me off guard. My collection is miniscule as well, so that doesn't help I guess. lol
This is the one I was actually interested because the big priming handles.

One thing I noticed recently is the nerf gel blasters are in the toys, but the other brands that only do them are over in the locked case with the bb guns

Stock Rambler is just shy of stock Elite which is a surprise
I would say for the Rambler. I would take the dartpost out to make it half dart and then brass the barrels.
The Rambler actually looks pretty good for what it is.
Better plastic because they are made for little kids who are going to drop them and throw them around.
Yes Im glad this is black now I can see what blasters I can get for modding. Nerf will never leave me. This hobby is here to stay forever. I would really like to see K26 episodes for the Fortnite, Minecraft, Some new Dinosqaud, Elite 2.0 and Roblox blasters as well as rare blasters like the Brainsaw.

Now I see that the drop-in K26 is the hot mod and all, but have you done research into progressive springs? More often used in suspension but could improve priming "feel" while still getting the final energy? Also, have you experimented with stretching stock springs? Sometimes its great! others, not so much - and I don't know why.

It really is built strong af. Heavy plastic.. absolutely no range/power. Kids will easily get frustrated how short these darts fall

There must b a significant amount of time and effort to produce these things; think about it
Hopefully nerf keeps all their stupidly tiny grips and short stocked blasters in this series and keeps stuff for an older audience in the other series

I have a suggestion for a set, the realistic shotgun type on Amazon I have the m1887 and loving the way it operates but I'm wondering could it be upgraded?
I kinda like the aesthetic maybe cram a more powerful blaster inside?
It's kind of a shame they don't have a line of older-kid/adult blasters that use this same friendly aesthetic. It looks really nice.

Some of the new nerf blasters are garbage with no O-ring to seal the plunger. I k26'd my Fortnite 1911 blaster & only got 90fps because it has no air seal
You speak of barrels being too short for the spring power, but how can you tell? Is there a technique (other than trial and error) in determining the correct barrel length-to-spring power ratio?
You can tell because of how erratic the darts fly. This is a result of excess air pressure hitting the back of the dart after it leaves the barrel and throwing it off. Trial and error is pretty much the only option.
If they are "making elite blasters for kids".... why make a junior line?
I suspect they were either marketing really young kids or kids with disabilities. Since either might have trouble using a regular blaster

No. It is not nearly solid enough for that. You would need to fabricate a whole new plunger if you wanted to do that. The seal is actually not bad, surprisingly.

Perhaps someone here can help me. There is a very particular blaster I'm looking for from my childhood. I think it was like a Maverick, but it was teal and I think it had a yellow cylinder. Any ideas? This would've been in 07/08 at the latest.
Sounds like a blue Maverick. Might help if you define the time frame of your childhood.

Well, early episodes had 4 blasters per episode. Later, I reduced it to 2 blasters per episode. I have never repeated a blaster and there are still many blasters I have not done. So...yes.
