- This No Sew Sock Bear is a great project for anyone who isn't very experienced with a needle and thread. It's quick and easy and all you need are a pair a socks and some easy to find supplies.
(Please remember that even though this bear looks like a toy it's still an arts and crafts project and should NOT be given to babies, small children or pets.)

Thank you so much for sharing these. I am going to make these in an after school craft class with K-4. I am using ankle socks and the only thing I'm doing differently is instead of rolling the second sock under the string. Instead I am making sure they have the ankle side of the second sock in front and pulling it up over the top and then putting on the decorative ribbon. This way the kids won't accidentally cut too much off and not be able to tuck it under the string. I have a picture but I do not see a way to attach it.

EclispeCookie aw that’s ok. Practice makes perfect. I did a whole bunch of practice versions before filming. Every bear is unique and as long as you had fun that’s all that counts.

You just gave me the perfect project!!! I have a bunch of socks with holes I don't want to throw away because they're soooo cute.... I can't see at all, so this is perfect!!! And bonus for it using minimum supplies.... Question though: Do you have a substitute for the ribbon scarf because I have no ribbons in the house... Do you think I can trim a towel or shirt or something like that an use that? Sorry for the long ass commentary lmaoooo... I'm a little fucked up so I'm long winded as hell😂😂🤗🤗💙
I’m glad you like the project. You can substitute the ribbon scarf with a lot of things. The cut up towel or shirt is a good option. You could also use fabric from a sock. It’s really just there to hide the seam and to reinforce the shape of the head. 😊

If you actually have stuffing thats even better. I recommend cotton balls in the video because not everyone has access to stuffing / it can get pricey if it’s the nice stuff. Your bear will be even softer. 😁

i tries these and i was quite stuck on the tail and legs bit
The legs and tail can get a little tricky. Make sure that you aren’t overstuffing the bear or maybe try stretching the sock a little before. You can always try again. The bears in the video are like the 10th version I made.

Yeah. It can get a little tricky. You want the thread to be tight to make the head shape but not so tight that it’s too hard to get the sock tucked in.
Can we make this with normal size of socks?
Yes definitely. If you’re using bigger socks the bear itself will be bigger so you’ll probably need more cotton ball stuffing. You can tie off more nub for the ears, arms, legs etc. if they aren’t looking proportional.
