James R Smith I always considered that the way he looks at Luke before it happens make me feel like he had this plan for a while and I think in old canon (legends) he knew he couldn’t beat Darth Vader from the beginning especially after 20 years of mostly watching over Luke.
Bro, this was 10 months ago but I'll still say it . I'm pretty sure he says "Could it be?" or something similar and the force sound probably wasn't him holding the door. I think the force sound is him sensing Luke through the force and he says "Could it be?" as he learns that that's his son. Which makes sense since in Episode 5 he's already looking for Luke as his son
I think its awesome to see vader go from his anakin acrobatic style to an enforcer style. I feel you could really see in the way they fight how much he wanted to kill obi wan.

George did not have the time or money to make HOPE really the way he imagined it. He wanted to stay independent, but needed a big money studio, 20th CF, to get his film into production and into theaters. He was hard pressed to get the movie done, and we are lucky to get what was in the original. Even George had no idea how the film was going to do, much less what it did to cinema. Even with the success of HOPE, he was again pressed in getting EMPIRE released and with the vision he had, and not losing control to the studio. He became what he did not want happening to him early on, a big monolithic entity so engrained in the films that we got 1, 2 and 3, and the films suffered for it. I wish he could have stepped back and did what we saw here, engrained the angst in Anakin at the very onset of when he first appeeared, not the shy, timid boy we got, or the brat in the clone wars, they just didn't work. And by then, he had the budget to make anything work, its just disappointing it didn't get done, but with what you see here, and the budget they have, it can still be done.
To your comment about it "not being in their minds when they 1st made these movies" where the saber duel was concerned, I would venture that it was likely more that it just wasn't possible in '77 to give the kind of fighting that we got later with the Prequels....Alec Guinness was 63 in ANH, and while that's not old for someone that stays in shape, he would not have been able to pull off the moves in this re-imaging. The technology was also not available. Even the duels in ESB and ROTJ were less acrobatic. I think, this should have been something Lucas "fixed" with the special editions to be honest. As was said, some of the additions were good, but some of them were just unnecessary.

The awful CGI Jabba was hard to watch, and while it gave scope to ROTJ, and allowed Boba to be in it, it wasn't that good visually. Yeah they have since "made it better". We knew Han was a smuggler, smugglers often get in trouble. Also, what, did Jabba gain like 700lbs between ANH and ROTJ? I could do without that addition. The silly droids on the approach to Mos Eisley, and the stupid Jawas getting knocked off their ride were not needed. If Lucas wanted to "fix" some things....it shoulda been things like this fight, the escape from the Death Star space battle, and making someone of the other space scenes look more realistic.

"Impressive, ...MOST IMPRESSIVE!" Almost seamless editing, outstanding computer graphics, and dynamically fluid action. Somebody, call Disney and have them re-shoot this fight scene, paying and using these guys "reimagining" as a paradigm. Then re-re-release the movie again, using the new fight scene, on DVD and/or stream. They'll make 10-20X the money their investment. We've been waiting for this kind of Episode IV fight scene for over forty years.
Thank Disney for not taking this video or the original FixItInPost video down. This is wonderful and it enhances A New Hope greatly, makes me appreciate the OG movies much more.
I don't agree with altering the duel in ROTJ (or TESB, for that matter) given that a) Luke was still a relatively novice Force-user, and, thus, likely wouldn't know how to do all those fancy moves, and b) Vader is holding back somewhat in those fights, since he knows he's facing his son, and is conflicted, since, of course, he still has good in him.

One bit of trivial gripping: Vader's helmet was not that glossy in the original Star Wars" (1977) or its later "Special Edition(s). It wasn't until ESB that the helmet became glossy. However, other then that pettiness, this is a GREAT looking video, and the battle I've been waiting for, over 40 years.
One thing i hated that got changed was changing Jason Wingreen voice. Is voice was great as Boba don't get me wrong i like Temura but if i want to watch Empire i put in the Special Edition Empire VHS or the orginal Empire cut VHS

I don't fine most of the light saber fights (including prequels) to be very good. They never seem real to me, in the prequels they just dance around and attack each others weapons in the new trilogy they constantly do that backward sword holding grip that makes no sense and everything seems to be in slow motion. Here this actually seem believable. Awesome.

No, you're wrong to this day we do not have a digital remaster of the original cut and non special editions of the original Trilogy. The last thing we got since has either been a rip of the Laserdisk version. The 2004 DVD that had the unaltered films are just letterbox laserdisk ripped and burned to a DVD. No other director and/or company is that full of themselves as George was. E.T. has the walkie talkie special effect version but they include the original. There are multiple versions of Blade Runner and Brazil on Bluray. I don't hate George or wish ill will on him but that is one of the things I dislike most about him.
And now the main question...why were you laughing the whole time. You thought it was so weak or what??? Because i think this change was way better than all shit that Lucas has put in the whole classic trilogy together ( i mean only changes) .

I love how Obi-Wan keeps going for the stab - it makes sense as a way to try to negate Vader's heavy slashing style.
Even more so knowing that's how he had defeated Vader in the finale of the Obi-Wan show. Reimagined SC-38 may as well be canon by this point!

I realized that and I thought that was an absolute amazing addition they put in. Vader eventually realized what Ben meant by becoming more powerful.

"no" was yelled in both Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith. "No" was added during the Blu-ray conversion by George in ROTJ.
