@@PoindexterLounge the reason why "Vader" moved a lot better in Emipre and Jedi is because in the lightsaber battles was NOT David Prowse but a guy named Bob Anderson (since sadly passed away) who at the time of Empire held a 7th dan blackbelt in Kenjutsu (Samurai battlefield swordsmanship)

I loved how you could really feel the weight behind the strikes! It gives me chills! It really adds a new flavour to the dynamic between Vader and Obi Wan!
Question asked why Vader didn't use the force to open the blast door, it's because Vader thought Obi wan had played a trick on him. When Ben raised his light saber Vader wasn't sure if Ben was tricking him but saw the opening and took it. When Ben suddenly disappeared instead of being a dead body it confused Vader, he thought it was a trick that he hadn't seen before and that Ben had learned more from the force and it scared Vader into thinking that Ben was stronger than him. This is why Vader steps on the cape wondering where the body went !😉👍✌
These guys did great! Love y’all video, as always! And Vader didn’t use the Force on the door there, because he had the tracking device on the Falcon (member?!😜😂)
Also, others have commented that they “heard” the force on the door, meaning that Obi Wan “held it,” thus Vader’s pause at the door. I don’t know though... another point is that Vader says, “Kenobi,” that he heard him speak to Luke or that he sensed him holding the door. Thoughts?
That’s an interesting idea because it seems Vader could have removed the door if he wanted to. That’s a good question for discussion. Might have to do a video on That.
What I like about this fan film is capturing how a final duel between Vader and Obiwan really would have been after 20 years. The original didn't show Vader as that angry and hateful, which he was. He fought with the rage and sense of vengeance that I would imagine Vader having
You are the coolest family! As for this re-imagined scene, I was so impressed and blown away by it, I have become addicted to watching its reactions! LOL! It seems everyone feels the same way about it as I do. First, I understand that these people did not have the budget of a Hollywood studio. But what they did was still amazing! But, I agree that most important of all, they added to the story and the characters here. You can FEEL the near 20 years of anger, rage, and thirst for revenge in Vader the way they did this. And you can feel the guilt and regret in Obi-Wan and that, again, he did not really want to fight Anakin, but, again, had no choice but to. And you can feel the history between the characters in general. It is just fantastic how they did this. And, as much as I love "A New Hope" as it is / was, I would still love it even more if Lucasfilm went back and re-did this duel much like this. I know the technology wasn't available at the time of the original filming. But starting already with "The Empire Strikes Back" the lightsaber duels became much better and more intense with both effects and emotion as the films went along. To the point where the "New Hope" duel looks a bit out of place by comparison to even the "Empire Strikes Back" duel. And now we have Vader's powerful rampage in "Rogue One" that takes place literally just before "A New Hope". It is also great watching your whole family enjoying this together. My parents got me all the "Star Wars" toys as a kid - especially the action figures, but they weren't into the movies WITH me like this. It is so refreshing to see that. But, at least now, my line of business turns me and my cohorts into living versions of the action figures on a regular basis. I don't think it's that they didn't like it. I think it was more or less that those of us who grew up watching the OG trilogy, we've been seeing this fight for 42 years now. at 9:00 ERROR: Dad.exe has stopped working. XDDD Now, seriously this is an amazing reaction. The way your eyes opened wide the second sabers began swinging was priceless. There's only one "but" with this sequence. Honestly Star Wars must be seen IV-V-VI and then the prequels, and then Rogue One (and then you stop and watch no more because whatever Disney has produced, other than Rogue one, is not even worth storing in the can for dog turds). The ending of this reimagination pretty much cripples and spoils the big reveal of Empire Strikes Back, which is one of the most emotionally gripping points of the whole franchise. You just can't put this in Ep IV DVD, it destroys that reveal and that's a no go...I mean for those of us who have seen all the movies of course that's actually a highlight (makes the fight so much more emotional)...but that can't stay in the actual movie. Other than that...yeah, it's perfection. I don't know how they managed to choreograph it so well, but both Vader and Obi Wan fight styles are just believable. You really "buy" that they're fighting to death (unlike so many other movie lightsaber fights when it seems they're more worried about looking cool than actually fighting), and to be honest they NAILED their styles.... Vader...oh my. He's just such a bulldozer. And Obi Wan, who barely can hold Vader's constant attacks yet still finds moments to try and throw a trhust in here and there to try to catch him off guard (not that he managed to, but still). Choreography is perfect, the performers execute it FLAWLESSLY, camera work was spectacular (the whole sequence from the moment Vader breaks through the fire until the cut to Han, Luke and the others is honestly the best camera work I've seen in a Star Wars lightsaber fight, the ones in Bespin and Death Star 2 included). CGI is as good as we can ask from some guys in their garage with limited resources, money and equipment, doing it during their spare time. You just can't ask for anything better. In the end most people wonder why this is so much better than the "new" stuff. Well on one hand this was done by true fans who obviously love Star Wars, while the Disney movies were produced and directed by people who either don't care about Star Wars or actually dislike it (he-who-shall-not-be-named who directed TLJ is on record saying that he didn't care for the originals, much less the prequels...and he's hired to direct a Star Wars movie. And of course he proceeded to do a disaster of a movie, act as if established canon didn't exist, and put at best a half arsed effort at the fight sequences. What did people expect??). But specially, what sells the fight so much is that all swings in that fight have a purpose: they're either done to try and kill the opponent or to deflect an incoming attack. Vader as Vader was already known as the deadliest force of the Galaxy (bar the emperor), and as Anakin as one of the best swordsmen of the Jedi order. It shows here. Obi Wan was famed for his excellence with the light saber, and his mastery of the defensive styles was said to be unparallelled. Even in his old age he was able to kill a tremendously skilled opponent in only three moves (Darth Maul). That mastery ALSO shows here. Those are supposed to be two masters of the craft going at it with the purpose of get the other down. It truly *IS* an epic fight because of who's fighting. And boy does it show here...and boy did they get this right. There's no pointless fancy saber twisting, no unneccesary acrobatics, no stupid showboating: just pure agression in a fight full of violence, rage even, grit, intensity. It's the polar opposite of every lightsaber fight we've seen since Return of the Jedi (the prequels were also guilty of it, but VII and VIII just indulge in it up to stupidly ludicrous levels)...and that's why it works. In this reimagination we see two masters of the lightsaber trying to kill each other, not two guys competing for whose does the fanciest looking acrobatics or saber-windmilling for the sake of looking badass. Meanwhile Kylo and Rey...against guards swinging in the background just to give them time to come back and parry...yeah. You know what I mean, right?. That's why this fight is and feels so good. It feels and looks real...the "official" movie stuff we've seen as of lately just looks like shit because it was coreographed as shit, performed like shit, directed as shit, acted as shit and guess what...the result is shit. Pretty obvious, if you ask me...
@Poindexter Lounge I don't think they used a Green Screen Suit for the Alec Guinness CG. I think they used Face Tracking & Replacement, the same technology Weta Digital used for the Hobbits in The Lord of The Rings.
Yeah it my fault really. I had them do this video pretty late because people were so asking for it. We needed to get it done but they were really tired. .
When filming the original movie, saber props were fragile and could break. That limited anything they could do. They needed to be careful about not breaking the props. Alec Guiness was good at fencing, but these props did not allow anything cool. By that time filming schedule was so derailed that Lucas was at the edge of nervous collapse.
This is so awesome, the only thing that i wasn't a fan of was when Vader threw Ben into the wall and then did the lightsaber throw it was a bit over the top for me even though it's really cool. I think it's a shame that this particular duel wasn't this good in the original because i have no issues with the other duels in the original trilogy
They need to do a Special-Special Edition with this scene in it...with some additional scenes that expand the whole movie, and take it up just another notch or two.
I was on the fence about thumbing you down... I hated the silly comments throughout.. like " The Princess Bride" reference. "Family Guy.".. etc.. but I did like the fact, that out all the reactions I saw, you were the only one that mentioned what I saw... which was " He looks a little short there"... It's a great , great reproduced section.. and I'll thumb you up.
I'm with you, nerd fam. Loved this fan film. Watched it about 20 times so far. How cool would it be if Lucasfilm got ahold of the guys who did this and brought them in to work with ILM to make a special edition of Episode IV with this re-imagined scene? I would pay good money to purchase that. Love you guys, be safe 😊
Thanks man! Yeah I wonder how good they would be creating something new. That’s he only thing. They did an awesome job reimagining a scene but can they write? Can they create new characters. That stuff is much harder.
Original movie presented the scene as if Obi and Vader were just competing against each other. This however presents it as if Vader truly hates Obi’s guts and literally wants to slice off his head! Meanwhile Obi Wan struggles to fight and stay alive! Agree...lots of emotion.
I wanna watch the star wars saga again but im honestly gunna have to wait till sometime in 2020 when all the movies 1-9 are in a bundle pack and all in 4K
I tried looking through all your videos and I couldn’t find this but have you guys heard of Star Wars: The Old Republic trailers. It’s for a video game and it’s way outside the original movie series timeline (expanded universe of Star Wars actually). Those trailers are so freaking cool and it really hits the emotions!
You guys may find it a wonderful thing to react to. Not giving away too much but those Old Republic videos tells a compelling story with very little dialogue! Also, Logan you have an awesome name man!!

Now, seriously this is an amazing reaction.
I think they used Face Tracking & Replacement, the same technology Weta Digital used for the Hobbits in The Lord of The Rings.
awesome reaction you guys! should react to Star Wars knights of the old republic trailers first "return" then "hope" lastly "deceived"
These kids are robots.
I always imagined after he died, Kenobi used the Force to prevent Vader from opening the door.
I liked the lil-brother.... he is critical and knows star wars but dad is right about it for what it is
When the parents return to being a kid again, and the children look on like bored adults. Heh.
Yeah it my fault really. I had them do this video pretty late because people were so asking for it. We needed to get it done but they were really tired. .
Admit it, we are all in love with Darth Vader
When filming the original movie, saber props were fragile and could break. That limited anything they could do. They needed to be careful about not breaking the props. Alec Guiness was good at fencing, but these props did not allow anything cool. By that time filming schedule was so derailed that Lucas was at the edge of nervous collapse.
I was just like dad.
This will be a long day remembered. It was the end of Obi-Wan and soon the end of the Rebels.
Can someone PLEASE edit the original movie to include this scene ?
I was on the fence about thumbing you down... I hated the silly comments throughout.. like " The Princess Bride" reference. "Family Guy.".. etc.. but I did like the fact, that out all the reactions I saw, you were the only one that mentioned what I saw... which was " He looks a little short there"... It's a great , great reproduced section.. and I'll thumb you up.
Thanks. I don’t know if you saw but the guy who plays him watched our Video and rebutted his height. Lol
Aw the boys look so sleepy. How late did you do this video?
I was confused at the end when the dad says “it’s funny when you don’t watch the movies for a while”. Huh? What witchcraft is he referring to?
8:55 ... that says all about that preview :)
There is no Star Wars fatigue, they are just not making what fans love so much. Rather, it takes fans to make what they love about SW and stir the excitement that fans have for the franchise.
I heard that space balls reference 😂
Nice. That made Tiffanie’s day.
Yes! I caught that lol “He shot my hair!” 💀😂
I wanna see a saber fight redone for yoda and palpatine with the whole fight
Not redone exactly but...completed...would be the word I'd use! For example, how did Sidious drop/lose his saber during his fight?
You guys need to watch the Darth Maul Apprentice fan film PLEASEEE
Awesome film
Darth Vader is too legendary for actions that make sense by real world standards.
