Not sure if this was mentioned. But right before Obiwan "died", he looked over and smiled. He would have seen the children of Annikin reunited! For the first time since they were separated at birth. And it was the only time that I recall that Annikin and his children were in the same room in all the movies combined. Not counting force ghosts.
This same group is also going to be reimagining the fight scene between Vader and Luke on Cloud City. Hopefully it will be finished sometime next year.
@Star Wars Choices Yeah if I remember right the lightsabers were held with 2 hands because they weight like 10 kilos and had power cables running in to them. That's why everyone uses 2 hands because you literally can't swing it with one hand like in the prequels.
In my headcannon when Luke says he thought Ben was dead and Obi Wan looks up, I imagine this is what he saw in the future, then he looked back to Luke and said "Not yet."
It would be INCREDIBLE if this team could go through the whole original trilogy like this! Something like this SHOULD have been for the 90’s special edition re release
I love the power of Vader's back handed swing, and of course the light saber throw. Also love the prequel voice adds before his death, it ties everything together so well. I'm sure others have recommended, Shards of the Past, and Maull - The Apprentice. Universally recognized as the best fan films along with this one.
The moment when they both remember their last duel many years before... "You were my brother Anakin..." tears and chills... heartbreaking. 💔💔💔 Awesome visual effects, music and editing! Great reaction as always! See you in the next video! 💙
So glad you watched this. If there is ever a time when us nerds get choked up, it would be the "You were my brother, Anikin" or Spock telling Kirk "I have been - and always shall be - your friend". These lines are iconic and always get me where it hurts. Great vid, Kazzy!
was getting a lot of flashbacks to ROTS. i like how vader was using his more aggressive style of dueling like he did on mustafar but he seems to adapted it more, due the limitations of his body and armor. obi-wan was still using his defensive style as before but i don't think he was ready for just how aggro vader was here. but yeah. "you were my brother, anakin!" hit me right here. thanks again, kazzy.

If the duel between Prowse and Guiness had played out like that in '77, the audience would've hit the roof! I'm sure both men would approve of the change were they alive to see it. This is the kind of alteration that Lucas should've made when he tinkered with the originals rather than having Greedo fire first! After I saw this the first time, I immediately considered it required viewing for anyone making their way through the saga. I include it in my suggested viewing order after the Prequel trilogy.
Darth Maul: Apprentice by T7pro Kenobi by Jamie Costa Vader: Shards of the Past by Star Wars Theory Each of these is better, and is made with more love and respect for the source material, than both Episodes 8 & 9.
Absolutely spot on. It's amazing what creative people can accomplish if given the proper permission by the Disney Overlords. Out of the ones you picked, I can't choose which is my favorite. Gotta give a shout-out to Heroes Fan Production, too. HFP knows how to cut film together. Those character tributes are amazing.
What I like is that I had a question finally get answered by this video. Why didn't Vader break into the hangar and murder everyone? In that moment between the blast doors finally closing and "Run Luke, run!", they included the sound of a Force Push. I believe Vader tried to force the doors open, but Kenobi, in his "More powerful than you can possibly imagine" state, counters with a Force Push of his own. A Force Push from opposite directions means the doors stay shut, separating the Murder-borg from the fleeing rebels.
Kenobi also caused Vader’s TIE Advanced Fighter’s shots to miss Luke’s X-Wing in the trench run despite Vader having a target lock on Luke’s vehicle during the Battle of Yavin
Kazzy Got to remembered that no studios did not foot the bill for production until 20th Century Fox decided to join the production. 70's technology was not top like is today. That is why Lucas created his effect houses such as ILM, Industrial Light and Magic. I wondered who created Re-Imagined scene? Alec Guinness (Obi Wan) , Shakespearean actor 1st thought that this movie as Fairy Tale Rubbish with Good Morals.
There is a treasure trove of Star Wars fan edits that are great like this, a few somehow even better. Heroes Fan Productions, Darth Porg, and many others have made some truly incredible videos that I couldn’t possibly recommend enough.
This has always been my favorite scene in all of Star Wars after Obi-wan is struck down Luke’s reaction the powerful music the doors closing with Vader approaching so emotional! Even watching at the theater in original release loved it! Thanks for reacting!
I know I am 2 years late, but this reimagined makes that scene so much more powerful. If I was Disney I would of said get this guys info and get him here. Were are going to clean this up were it needs it and add it into the original.
Just imagine a handful of Star Wars fans created something absolutely brilliant in my opinion far exceeds anything Disney made in the last trilogy. I would’ve rider seen films created by these fans with low budgets then the multi million dollar crap Disney pulled out.
All of the new footage was shot on a green screen set. There is a "making of" video that explains how they did it. There is another fan film that you should see. It's called "DARTH MAUL - Apprentice - A Star Wars Fan-Film" and it's (in my opinion) the best fan film ever made. Others might argue, but I loved it. Really happy that you're checking out the fan stuff. Just for fun, you might also appreciate a Lightsaber Duel film (an award winner by someone who is now a professional FX filmmaker) called "RvB2: Ryan vs. Brandon 2". Not star wars, but amazing lightsaber stuff.
If you enjoyed this, you might want to check out Astartes. It's a short 5-part series all made by one guy (which is why parts 1-4 are really short) but it's got some of the most amazing visuals I've ever seen. It's based on the Warhammer 40k series.
This is exactly how skilled and powerful Obi Wan _should_ be! He may have been old, but he was the most powerful surviving Jedi other than Yoda post Order 66!
There are two more fan films on par with this: Darth Maul - Apprentice, Vader - Shards of the Past. Both show that throwing money at something doesn't necessarily make something better for the fans, we know what we really want!
Great reaction! This fan made scene is a must watch for any Star Wars fan. Vader should always be shown when fighting as more brutal, more direct, and more powerful. Obi Wan in comparison should always be shown in battle as more thoughtful, more strategically subtle, and with more finesse - especially when he is past his prime. This Star Wars SC 38 Reimagined shows those comparisons well IMO.
One of the small things that I like about this reimagining is when Obi and Vader first catch sight of each other it's Vader that ignites his lightsaber first. To me being the first one to do that is a show of aggression, aka NOT the Jedi way, but, very much IS the Sith/Dark Side way. To me it's small but an important change.
Idk if youre familiar with the band oasis, but one of the funniest videos ive ever seen is darth vader being voiced by liam Gallagher, their singer. So funny

This version is actually better than Episode 4's actual scene. Still to this day the original scene feels like the odd man out when compared to the other 5 movies (1,2,3,5, and 6). Of course the special effect weren't as good when Episode 4 came out, and George and Lucasfilm were developing a lot of their technologies over time.

If Disney wanted to remake starwars 1-6 with just making enhanced visuals, sound qualities, and so forth. Sure, get someone that knows wtf theyre doing though. The independent files were alright. but 7-9 was just. dumb. They disconnected from everything.
The original was cutting the budget so close, they simply couldn't afford stunt doubles and a professional fight director. David Prowse would barley see out of that helmet-mask and Alec Guinness was not a trained fighting actor. Also, the original lightsaber props were quite fragile and couldn't survive hard hitting,
Take a shot every time she says "wow." You'll be in the er in 5 min haha. Starting at 1:55 ending at 7:41 i believe it was 11 wows and 2 woahs. Hahan Great reimagining tho
I never really cared for this. I couldn't get past the first shot where there are stars in the foreground (where the rest of the planet should be covering them up). That kind of stuff just bugs me. Aside from that, I think it just misses the point that will be Obi Wan just basically just preoccupying Vader so that the others could get to the ship. He never intended to escape or defeat Vader. Even though Vader knew that, Obi-Wan was still able to use Vader's anger to bait him into doing exactly what he wanted him to do... distract him long enough to allow the others to escape. For me, this suffers from what the prequels suffered from (visual effects coming at the expense of storytelling). From a narrative storytelling perspective, the duel should be just long enough to accomplish that (which is exactly what the original did).
I get what you're saying. I felt that way about Mad Max Fury Road - VFX at the expense of storytelling. While the VFX were incredible in that film, I wasn't able to emotionally connect with any of the characters. There was zero emotional resonance there for me. I've only seen it once though (when it first came out in theaters), so I may watch it again 😊✌🏼💛
I agree, it also didn't fit stylistically like that low wide-angle intro shot of Vader. That is something Peter Jackson might do but you don't see that in Star Wars. And Obi Wan and Vader looked like two people in their prime instead of an old master and a cripple who would rely more on efficiency, precision and subterfuge to overcome a lack of strength and speed. I got that sense more from the original. Having said that, if I were able to do in After Effects what this guy did I would be very proud of myself and would want to share it online too.
@@sntxrrr I agree. It was a good edit. The very first shot with the stars in front of where the other half of the planet should have been, ruined it for me, though.
Yes, I've seen it - only once a long time ago in the theater. That narrative dialogue in the background is from Revenge of The Sith. I'm going to watch all of the Star Wars movies again - but this time in chronological order, because I haven't done that before. I still haven't seen Solo, The Last Jedi, or The Rise of Skywalker. So those three will be a first time watch for me ✌🏼😊
Obi-Wan was not that powerful. He was a average Jedi. Yes he did beat Vader but George Lucas explained why. Vader was still young and confused and was over confident and paid the price. Obi-Wan almost didnt make it as a Jedi. He was 16 when a Jedi master Quigon took him as a padwan. most are chosen by the age of ten.
Kazzy: He's on fire!
Vader: Been there. Done that.
Wow, that's a helluva observation
It's more like when he looked at Luke in that moment, he saw "a new hope" for the Galaxy.
Huh. I always took that as a smirk, that he knew by Luke seeing Vader kill him, it would push Luke to train harder.
All the above
100. like from me to the comment.

@@sntxrrr I agree. It was a good edit. The very first shot with the stars in front of where the other half of the planet should have been, ruined it for me, though.
You are beatifull
What happened to your new Mandalorian video? ☹️
You clearly haven't watched Revenge of the Sith have you? You should.
So those three will be a first time watch for me ✌🏼😊
You are super pretty. :)
If you liked this, you gotta check out Darth Maul Apprentice ❤️🖤🤙😉 pretty please
I'm a huge star wars fan, but this original scene was shit. They should have gone balls to the wall like this
Obi-Wan was not that powerful.
