Great idea, but the movie makers forgot to mention who pays for the running cost? Nice boats, great vests and shirts and tools and freindly people working on the clean up. How many tons per day do they make and where does the recovered plastic go? Is this thought to be a substitute for an orderly waste management? I lived in Vietnam, which was a very clean country in 1995 before plastics arrived in the country and very fast it became very very messy. Who sets up sustainable waste management and who pays for investments and operational cost? Will Vietnamese citizens pay for waste removal or prefer to throw waste into the Mekong? Is there law enforcement? Will people be punished for misbehaving? Will they have another option but throwing plastics into the Mekong? They should ask other countries how they manage and what appropriate deposit systems exist. And get the producers of packaging and plastics to take responsibility for their products!
A small 25 hp 4 stroke outboard motor runs pretty clean. Just build the boats and keep cleaning. Dont worry about it being solar. That solor boat probably ran for 1 hr
Gary Vallone that’s what people don’t get. Solar isn’t that good for the environment. On top of that, getting the selenium for the panels creates tons of waste. It’s a rare earth metal that doesn’t sell for a reason.
The idea that protecting the environment is a responsability of everyone and that we will overcome this problem when people realize it it's absolute BullSh_t! Now how do you stop places like China and Russia to stop polluting more and more annually while the rest of us try and cut, they make up for the difference and then some.
please come to bekasi, Indonesia our rivers are so much polluted and to the extent that garbage piles up at times and residents can only be silent and do not act if they are prohibited from throwing garbage into the river they will hit us so we also only surrender to the government but the government only talks only and do not follow up, I know a lot of government work but at least they pay attention to the Indonesian environment. Thank you for reading and listening, I beg you one time to help us in Indonesia so that we can live healthy again. Thank you
It’s sad that this is necessary. Why do people living at the river not understand that them throwing their trash in it is the reason why they live next to a stinky brown swamp instead of a river with clear water they could drink.
