The real problem is pricing for many people, in canada, the integra manual is 48k msrp and ive seen dealers price them for 50k and higher too, if the civic si is 37k msrp, whats the justification for the integra? The badge? The leather seats? The adaptive dampers? You’re asking performance car money for a fwd 200hp manual, i can get a golf r or elantra n for the same money.
As someone who’s a big fan of Honda and has several Honda/Acura vehicles, I think one of the main issues with Acura is they need to find their true identity. Right now, they’re not as luxurious as the best out there: MB, Lexus or Volvo nor are they as competitive performance wise compared to the big boys like BMW, Audi and Porsche. They’re doing both just ok and have a nice lineup, but not quite enough to compete with class leaders. To me it seems obvious what they’re lacking: 1) Put in a Type S trim for both ADX a RDX (this can wait if a new one is coming soon) 2) Make 10AT optional for the Integra Type S. Some(myself included) want this car but don’t care for 6MT(even though I know it’s a good manual) 3) Axe the TLX and replace it with a new design that addresses its flaws(heavy, rear legroom, lacks power etc) or give it major HP boost. 4) Make a Type R trim available for at least one sedan and one SUV (I’m not talking 30 more hp than the Type S), I mean MAJOR power bump (ie 100-150hp+ over the Type S) to compete with the big boys. 5) Make PHEV or hybrid options available especially for their hot sellers. 6) Also important as a brand recognition, the might need a halo car aka the NSX.
Acura needs to emphasize their best sellers sales to get out of their malaise. 1. Type S is niche market. Don't chase those few hundred buyers. 2. A 10AT should be an option for all Integra's. 3. Agree. Give the TLX a refresh and a hybrid. You're competing with the ES300, not the sports end if you're making a car that heavy. 4. Respectfully disagree. High performance niche buyers is Acura chasing waterfalls. Acura has a 'performance brand' is no longer a thing. 5. 100% agree. Lexus is killing it with hybrids across the line. The ADX should have been based of the European Honda ZRV, their hybrid ADX. The hybrid Civic Hybrid Touring is arguably a better driving car than the Integra. The Integra, TLX, RDX and MDX all need hybrid options stat. 6. Respectfully disagree Acura made a strategic error chasing all electric. The market wants hybrids. Honda has hybrids across the line. Bring the same to the Acura line and the customers will come back.

the adx should get the type r engine and the 10 speed or the 7 speed dual clutch for the type s version.. and the rdx should get the 3.0 turbo.. with both their weight and the shawd it will be great cars
They should redesign their TLX and pay more attention to the RDX. TLX needs to drop its weight and offer a manual shifter like the Cadillac CTV Blackwing since this is a super competitive segment. The RDX needs a Type S trim. It’s like the middle child at this point in their lineup Also, please bring back the NSX!
Honda just hates money. They could have followed what Toyota-Lexus do, by giving Acura equivalent of their popular Honda model, especially in Hybrid, but they don’t. Puzzling.
I think an RSX version of the Prelude is a great idea - however, I would skip the anemic 1.5T and CVT all together, position the RSX as a higher performance sports car to justify a price premium over the Prelude and offer only the 2.0T with either 10-speed auto or 6-speed manual. Offer it in two variants, a more basic 250-275hp as well as a Type S with the whole 315hp+ and all the Type S goodness. That creates three very distinct sports coupe offerings between Honda/Acura with the Prelude, RSX and RSX Type-S at three very different price points and performance benchmarks. The Hybrid Prelude would simply be a better performance offering than a 1.5T RSX outside of having a manual on offer. Lean into the premium/performance name and make the RSX a more elevated performance machine. It can act as a sort of sports Halo car in the mid term until a future NSX arrives.
I was about to get a TLX, but then i saw they had this touch pad thing for their infotainment system. I puked all over the dash and ran away from the dealership as fast as i could. A track pad? In 2025?

What Acura is missing in the lineup is the performance hybrid. The market is in favor of hybrid than ICE or EV but Acura does not have any. Also, it would be better to offer the 10sp tranmission and AWD option on all models to separate themselves from the Honda siblings
Kirk, You may be on to something about the demographic who may want the ADX? I'm a senior, female & will be first in line to test drive the ADX, once it's launched. CVT Si powerplant for the ADX, ok anyway. More importantly, let's remember, there was an Si Prelude. Let's wait and see if there will be one this time around.
I think their problem is they’re not making enough changes to their Honda brethren for people to count them as an option. Acura needs to lean into being a better Honda in *every* way, not just a *barely* nicer Honda. (Looking at you Integra.) They need to be offering the Integra with SH-AWD, and they either need to lower their prices on *everything* by like 4 grand, or put more effort in. A 2020 Honda Accord 2.0T Touring has more luxuries than most Acura products. Cooled seats, heated rear seats, rear vents and charge ports, and a more engaging powertrain. That’s not to say I don’t like the Integra, I just think they could have a serious seller if they leaned in a bit more. Give people a *reason* to want these products, beyond just a nameplate.
Hybrids and PHEV is their answer to their numbers. Until they Hybridized their lineups, they will only struggle. I will buy the MDX in a heartbeat if it was in Hybrids or PHEV but I will never touch it until it's in Hybrid format. Gas is more expensive now than before and their vehicles are gas guzzling machines.
Acura’s have always been the guinea pig cars for Honda, so Acura coming out with an EV first lines up. For as long as I can remember, most tech gets trickled down from Acura into Hondas (IE their front collision sensors were first used in the RLX. I remember the same issues we had back then happening now with cars slamming on brakes.) It comes down to whether or not they can execute the tech and also execute the transition from Acura to Honda once all of the flaws are figured out.
I wish Acura had a wife variety of cars. All of their cars look the same. I had a new 21 TLX because I loved how unique it looked. It would be better if Acura had a little more selection in their lineup and didn’t have the same style on all the cars. It’s 2025! Be unique. I no longer have an Acura because I didn’t like the direction they were going and I was right. I believe they can change, they just need to listen to their fan base.
Acura pig-headed unwillingness to ditch their non-initiative touch pad tech has kept me away from buying an Acura. Acura needs to be a premium, bulletproof vehicle with a user-friendly interior and tech. That isn't the case with that poorly engineered touch pad They need to get serious about fixing their tech and adding hybrid versions to get the ball rolling..
Acura needs to start making a comfortable car again, like the RLX. The TLX and Integra are too stiff riding. Make a nice cross country cruiser that is not a damn suv.
Why do ppl keep talking about a Type S RDX? They can’t put the 6T in it cause then there just a size difference between the RDX and MDX… since the price will have to be different that would kill the MDX just like when the RL got dropped cause the TL type S had the same motor and was cheaper. So until they come up with a all new motor to make a RDX Type S
Honestly Acura's in a tough spot due to their terrible decisions. One thing that sent them down was the choice of the integra being a 4 door coupe instead of a 2 door. Another was abandoning the hybrid platform and going full EVs when literally their German competitors had backtracked in spite of them saying that they were doubling down on making an EV line-up after seeing a downtrend on their sale's figures. Acura literally could've made a hybrid manual car to attract their niche customer base and probably would increase attraction. RLX failed in sale's in North America not because it was a hybrid, but because of poor and terrible marketing. Honda Legend was loosely based of the NSX tech and had potential in competing against the likes of Audi and Mercedes hybrid counterparts yet you fell flat on your face. Acura's decision of going all in on EV is going to send them to bankruptcy like Nissan and probably send them to a crossover only brand like Infiniti. They're not going to risk the money on making sedans that nobody is going to buy because everyone in North America likes to driver oversized boats.

Please fix the TLX...the only thing they need to do is trim some weight, add a larger backseat and trunk space, change the infotainment system to a touch screen and it will sell very well. Also improving a fuel economy a little bit would be nice (bmw m340i gets 32mpg compared to 25 for TLX type S). I'm literally waiting and hoping for the new generation to address these. It doesn't make any sense to drop it as their competitors all have equivalent models that sell reasonably well ( ES 350, BMW 5 series, Audi A6 C class). Acura is not premium, sporty, or luxury enough for the extra money over a Honda. Also, the dealer experience is no better than Honda.
Bloated TLX with tight interior and poor engine in Integra.
why do they even need the integra? i enjoy these sales analysis videos to.
I would love to grab an Acura Integra but with the manual only being available in the A-Spec at ~39K is too much. Would love to see the manual brought to a lower trim.
True, but the civic si...
@@KirkKreifels True but now that the Civic hatch isn't available with a manual I need that lift back 😭
I feel like Acura is a dead brand without hybrids 😕
ironically, their sport hybrid MDX and RLX sold quite poorly. Acura was a little too ahead of its time.
@@TheBreakfastLover right! It's insane how much the culture has shifted.
I think they’ll rebound! ADX will be hit for them and the TLX and Integra won’t have the production restraints. Integra should be refreshed next year as well and the ZDX will be on sale for the full year, unlike last.
lol honda always lying about production when sales go down
@@nissanhonda25Are they lying or is Marysville actually getting reconstructed and only running on one production line instead of two? You RUclips comment experts know everything apparently Lol.
@ hondas trick for its sheep is simple. In the press release blame poor sales on lack of production and inventory. Which also means they don’t know what they are doing.
Tlx sales have been dropping before the plant change. integra is a flop.d mdx dropped. Their saving grace ironically is a GM rebadge ZDX

I was gonna buy the integra but I work out of country. Was gonna wait till I get home.
😂😂Acura should just name all their ICE cars the A1, A2, A3 then the EVs EV1 EV2….of course I’m being sarcastic but their names are just about as bad as that. They should reverse course and use real names.
Im a big fan of Honda, and we love our Acura MDX
I like their exterior look but the interior needs to change, it looks too bulky...
Acura should open their sales in middle east and Asia
ADX is an embarrassing FAIL
A CVT transmission with less power than a Civic Hybrid is absolutely outrageous.
Lexus sales with this same formula
It’s definitely gonna outsell the UX and has the potential to outsell XC40, the best seller given how only the Crosstrek and Trax outsell the HRV
@@rahimi4762 Lexus had a record 2024
Agreed!!!!….
if they want, they can.
What hold them back is that weak as s hp they be putting on this sedans !!! Fake type s power 😮
Acura has become almost as irrelevant as infinity
MAKE AN INTEGRA HYBRID ACURA!
Just make it as competitive as Audi A6 with a reliability ingrained and same design language and it will sell very well. Sedans are not dead, just need to have big back seat and large trunk.
I think Honda can get rid of Acura and move everything under Honda like they do in the rest of the world. Acura is only in North America.
They don’t get all of the same vehicles.
@@AH-bm4ts agreed. This is the best idea
HEY
Cool
Acura is just uncompetitive solely for honda sheep. Mazda and Lincoln > Acura
Noc Noc

"Mazda"
Honda:Mazda who
