Ill never forget sitting in a movie theater with my friends and thinking the new rebrand logo for Kia was a new manufacturer I'll say, the new K4 piques my interest
On Korean car blog, I saw that the seltos is getting a redesign. There are prototypes out there already. Because it is a fuel cell vehicle, expect the Initium design to debut on the next generation Nexo.
The G70 has not been officially discontinued. They even said just recently, the G70 is a gateway vehicle and confirmed that the G70 sports sedan is integral to the brand
The Kia/Hyundai PHEVs make amazing choices in my area because in Canada they qualify for a full 5k off in EV revates and in my province they match that bringing the total to 10K off which makes many if the PHEVs actually cheaper (to the purchaser) than the HEV of the same vehicle. It's basically the only reason I have one but I also plug it in religiously and have a record of 4501km on a single 43L tank of gas this last summer.
Love this channel. I watch it religiously. It is very informative, and I always come to you when it comes to automotive news. I would like to see what's coming in the US market as not many channels discuss the American market as much. I know Stellantis is going through it right now, and I'm curious to know what their next game plan is if they even have one. The German market doesn't seem as interesting besides the new VW ID Buzz. Maybe they have something brewing that we aren't aware of too.
0-60 times have little to do with the overall safety of a vehicle. I get your point that you shouldn't drive erratic with a family, but im not sure where your correlation of having a 4-5 second 0-60 is somehow dangerous lmfao
I think the Elantra is supposed to get a redesign because they’ve had that geometric angled look for quite some time. They did refresh the front a couple years ago, but they’ll probably do the rest of the body.
Hey Kirk, could you ask these auto makers why they feel the need to have a bullet car(super fast 0-60) over reducing power to an average 0-60 of like 6-8 seconds and increase the range. Being able to go faster than that is 0 benefit for people using their EV essentially as an appliance.
Staria to the US, please! If so, Hyundai Motor Group would effectively offer 40% of the US minivan offerings adding to the Carnival, Pacifica, Odyssey and Sienna. Even a Carnival-based N.America van would be welcome.
Yes. Bringing back the Entourage would reintroduce a Carnival-based Hyundai van for the US market. Staria or revived Entourage would be great. @@chezzyperson3339
My prediction for the 2020s is that there's gonna be echoes of the 90s jdm boom but for the Korean Manufacturers. I have friends in almost every major American and Japanese manufacturers and they are all saying that the Koreans are the only ones that look like they have their shit together.
I always watch your channel and you respond to my comments but one segment of the vehicle market that I'm not aware of what's going on with ven fast I know that's a Vietnamese company but was wondering if you had any info on that
I don't even know that I would call 10-80% in 24 minutes on a 110kwh battery all that fast. That's getting 77kwh in to a battery in 24 minutes or an average charge curve over the session of 193kw. That's less than a 2C charge rate (1.75, actually) Where as the 2025 Ioniq 5 with the new 84kwh pack does 10-80 still in 18 minutes which is a very similar 196kw average charge curve, but the C rate is 2.33 here. which means the EV9 with a 110kwh battery should be charging at an average 256kw to match the C rate of the i5, and we know theor batteries should do it because they are doing it. So sure, in the grand scheme of all electric cars it's pretty quick to be back on the road in a half hour, but when you compare C rates on different vehicles it's pretty average.
You talked about the EV3 possibly replacing the Soul. With the K4 hatch, i think the Kia Soul will be dead. It’s a shame because it’s actually still affordable.
Unfortunately, I think owning a Kia or Hyundai without parking it in the garage might be as bad as owning a Hellcat (or any V8 Dodge in general) in terms of it getting broken into or stolen.
The Koreans do a great job at just trying new things and not being afraid to bring them to the market. Unlike their Japanese counterparts who seemingly overthink every damn thing and just gets in their own way. Like there is no reason why the excellent Lexus LBX isn’t stateside to replace the poorly received UX. There’s no reason why the Yaris Cross isn’t here either. As much as I like the Corolla cross, that thing is basically the same size as a RAV4 and not that much cheaper. The EXCELLENT Corolla Wagon and Corolla Trek lifted wagon would have been much better choices. And I can go on and on. Toyota literally angers me sometimes.
We have the EV3 on sale in the UK but looks not nearly as good as the EV9 in particular it has too much exterior gloss black plastic that makes it look like a big toy.
@@jeffs6090When you get 3 Hyundai cars and each have major problems and the Owner pulls you to the side apologizes, and tells me, he would never buy a Kia or a Hyundai and tells me the history for the last 10 years of his ownership, and difficulties with warranty and constant redesigned engine failure. “ why would HE tell me this? I definitely wish we would get the EV5 here in the US! C'mon Kia! It's the perfect size for a lot of people. The Niro is a bit too small, more in line with the EV3, imo.

The EV6, and it's siblings, are more like hot hatches versus an SUV type vehicle. Canada will get it, so I don't see why we don't. I agree with him in the video, it could definitely outsell other Kias.

That k4 hatchback is just a work of art *chefs kiss
