🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

So to summarize everything in a sentence...
Sharp features = bold and dramatic colours, highlights should have high contrast.
Soft, rounded features = natural, rich-looking shades, highlights should be subtle.
Is that the gist of it?

    • @gittevandevelde2208
      @gittevandevelde2208 5 лет назад +14

@@narcissa6581 Maybe the 'pale and washed out' comes from the colours you wear? When your overall value is pale, a lot of colours can be too bold for you and make you look washed out...Red is a lot bolder, which makes it easier to pull off many colours. Maybe you should chekc out this : www.prettyyourworld.com/thecolorbreezesystem.html

      Same here!
Actually, I'm having a little trouble figuring out what exactly my body type is for some reason, but I think I'm a soft gamine or a romantic. I'm always changing my hair color. It's naturally dark brown, but it's been blood red, dark purple, a lighter more vibrant purple, and now it's a sort of pink color. Next, I'm probably doing bright green or blue.
Granted, she never outright banned bright colors for romantic, and certainly not for soft gamine. But I always get a little annoyed with fashion-type videos, because they never talk about the kinds of hair and clothes I like, lol. They just assume everyone wants natural hair colors and normal-looking clothes, when I want weird black outfits and bizarre hair colors, gosh darn it!

I am really enjoying this B series. Something I have not found is how our age plays into this. I am 48 years old. The pandemic has allowed me to ponder on all the “time, money and effort” involved in me chasing away my natural evolution. One simple change is my hair color and Chasing my gray halo since I was 30 years old. I am still struggling on what my B type is which is Soft between Classic and Soft Natural. Of all the celebrities out there, I am always compared to Jennifer Lopez’s body and face type. My body and mental health is being attacked by all the Natural hormonal changes a woman my age grapples with. It’s bananas! My natural color for 50% of my head is gray now. In fact 85% of that half is almost platinum. It’s beautiful. I am searching for solution that allow me to embrace all the changes and feel confident. I hope you consider a Maturing Series to expand your reach. Thank you for your hard work on this channel.

Another exception to the rules here🙋🏻‍♀️, I'm a soft natural but I have been rocking the blue black most of my life. My hairstyle is very typical soft natural (undone waves, random braiding, loose side ponys, messy), but I also have to honour my bright winter colouring (one of the most high contrast types, think snow white). I've tried more natural colour and apart from jet black it just looks, well, unnatural, and wrong with the colours I wear. Also, going grey has been a bonus because the salt and pepper shows through under the colour, giving it a slightly more organic, multi toned look even though it's blue lol. I think breaking the rules comes down to choosing the right rules to break for yourself as an individual.

While you make some very good points here - and thank you - it's very disappointing that Natural Gray Hair is looked upon as something to avoid, which just underscores the beauty industry's manufactured low self-esteem of older women AND, women in general. Stated with respect and as a master artist pioneering that natural gray hair does NOT equal old and washed up. Thank you for your understanding.

*definitely* romantic 👌🏼 by the way, if you have pale skin, doing something super dark or bright might only make your skin look more pale and wash it out. Also, don't choose a color that is your skin color, something soft and subtle is an even balance to bring out your skin color!! It is the same with makeup, wearing reds or dark browns and purples will wash it out but peaches and light browns will bring out your color and add a great balance!

Hey Aly, I've been subscribed to you for a long time and I LOVE your videos about makeup! I wanted to ask you, would you maybe consider making a video on skin care?
I have pretty oily skin and although I'm already 26 I've always been struggeling with adult acne and no matter what I do (mild facewashes, antibacterial ones, wearing no makeup at all, expensive products), it doesn't really seem to go away! And I've been a healthy vegan for 5 years so it can't be my nutrition.
Just to see what you recommend when it comes to skin care would be very helpful!
Keep up the amzing videos x

I think I can possibly be a soft classic. Spent my life in colouring my hair black to enhance the contrast with my fair skin and green/gray eyes. now at 40 my hair is turned completely white already (my natural colour was mid brown) and last year I decided I had enough of dyeing my hair every week to cover the roots. I know I look softer than before with white silver hair but I like it, although it takes away a lot of contrast and make me look softer :) People ask me if I bleach my hair, but it is natural I just tone it with silver shampoo :)

But i do agree with these general ideas, you can break the rules if you know them first

as soft natural, I always hesitated to do any colouring in my hair. I just liked the colour it has and never coloured it. One time I used the colouring shampoo, red colour and was allright but still missed my normal colour. Mine has some nice reflections in the natural light, bluish soemtimes red, depends on the season. Now, thanks to you I find is better for my type to keep it as close to its natural colour, thanks God. I do start to have some white hairs but they do not bother me.

IMO, your coloring may not fully align to your body type and you should defer to your individual coloring in that scenario. I'm a soft autumn SG and muted, lower contrast looks better on me than saturated and high contrast colors.

Oh, it's Zoey you mean lol. I replied about the girl after, whoops! Yes, the checkmark is above Zoey with her brunette hair. So the video is agreeing with your sentiment!!!☺️

I'm either dramatic classic or flamboyant gamine. I'm neither super tall nor small, so I guess dramatic classic. I love asymmetric striking styles and feel best wearing them. Anything too classic is boring. I have purple hair, blue eyes and pale skin, and contrast is definitely what I need, so your advice is definitely true for me. Soft lighter hair make me look ill. Love your vids!

What hair colors should you recommend for someone who is a theatrical romantic but has a soft contrast? I get confused because theatrical romantics needs rich hair and should avoid softer hair colors, but if I have a soft contract rich hair won’t compliment me.

,,If you choosing artificial hair color keep the base of your hair very close to your original shade'' Can someone please clarify what Aly meant (flamboyant natural). Does this mean that if you choose an artificial hair color, you need to keep the roots of your hair in the original color?

You are wonderful ♥ Your voice is so angelic, you could talk about anything to me and I would listen ^^ (also, I'm soft natural and have naturally red hair - but I would love some blue on the tips. I'm a little scared to try it out, because I love my natural color - do you think it's a bad idea?)

I had high contrast with salt and pepper, but now my dark hair is lightening! So weird. It's like I'm turning blond with white hair. Believe I am a dramatic. Guess I'll wait to see if it turns all white.

    • @AlyArt

No of course. It's not about the skin color. It's only a bone structure plus height and flesh. It is even not about the weight.
