Same, I don’t think I have body dysmorphia tho, but when I try to guess my face shape or body shape is impossible bcs I always look different, like, I look different in every photo and in every mirror and in every angle, literally I’m not sure how I look, I have a vague idea from what other ppl tell me but most of the time is not what I see. Maybe I’m just heavily asymmetric xd
@@MiLe-ql9ol You know what helped me a lot? I watched Aly's contouring series. Those videos go into depth about features and show lots of examples. She teaches how to measure the face to see what shape it is, what your proportions are, how to evaluate how prominent things are, etc. I took my body measurements too. Once I had the numbers, I didn't have to trust my eye anymore. After those videos I went back to the Kibbe playlist and realized I had answered most of the test questions wrong, simply because I didn't understand the terms/descriptions well enough. Another tip is not to look too much at the celebrity examples. They can be useful sometimes, but the problem is that two celebs from the same category can look wildly different from each other, because they each have unique combinations of yin and yang features (even though they're at the same place on the spectrum).

exactly the way I see myself is very different from what other people see. So, I probably have to ask someone else to do that for me. For example I love my shoulders and neck line but my mom says they are pretty wide for a girl. So, I am confused, whether they are wide or normal

@@moonrabbit2747 for me was also very hard to figure out even looking at the picture of my body, maybe because that image was different for what i thought i looked like. This time i tried again, but i put a paper on top of the picture and draw the silhouette of my body, and really makes it easier for the eye.

ignore the descriptions, they are stereotpyes. solve the test and count the answers. that's the only way. it's confusing, because they say a romantic should have an hourglass figure and a dramatic can't. but that's not true. like someone said in another video about the kibbe test- the hourglas figure or the full lips are just one question and count as one point. so there are no actual elimination questions. you can be short and pure dramatic, you can be tall and romantic- why not?
@@2govneta So my elongated and narrow A arms and my elongated broad B legs are A+ or do I pick the difference between the two, which is neither of them, and select C?
My body is like two entirely different bodies joined at the waist ... very narrow and lean up top (30-32 sized bras and small sized tops) and quite wide from the hips down - size med or lg) . Small hands (7.5 ring size) with long narrow fingers but very wide large feet (9 - 9.5 C width), etc.
This test doesn't work for me at all.
@@milomilo55 If you don't konw the answer to a question skip it, rather than pick any. This will give you a more accurate result
@@mariemai2902 It's not that I don't know the answer to each question, i.e. body type/shape/size etc. because I do, but there are no options for my body type/bone structure etc. for many of the questions. I'd have to omit quite a few answers. e.g. 1/3 of the questions, so it wouldn't be accurate at all since after all my limbs, hands, feet. etc are omitted I'm left with a limbless torso from a body of unknown height.
This test just doesn't work for asymmetrical people which is OK. I'll just find another test that doesn't focus on symmetry.

I've read somewhere on the internet that if you don't really seem to fit in one single category, you're most likely on the gamine spectrum because they combine a lot of romantic and dramatic features almost randomly.
We ignore the Cs. So you get mostly yang with some yin. So you could be FG or N. If you have A and D in the same category (bone structure, flesh, facial features) they neutralize each other. So if they all do so you're N. If they're in different categories and your bone structure is yang but short, your flesh is yang and your facial features are yin, you are FG.

The first time I did this, several months ago, I got soft classic. Today it ended up being theatrical romantic. And yet when I watch the clothes videos on body types and listen to descriptions, I find myself completely fitting into the soft gamine category. Man, it can be difficult to properly distinguish the differences..
Did you take a picture of yourself, from chest height w/o clothing? I think she mentions it the video or the previous video. I got confused and had to take a photo myself!

I think it’s to do with the proportion of bone, muscle and fat distributions instead of just focusing on just general body lines like hour glass, pear etc. When she talks about softness and wideness she’s saying fat distributes there, when she talks about sharpness she’s talking about bone definition, etc. It’s hard to categorise becausethe differences are way more subtle as to general body lines.

A cup means you won't ever sag to your waist, you don't need a huge hard structured bra, and you can run to the bus without hitting your chin with your flapping breast. Lucky girl.

You can try out different clothing recommendations for the body types and determine which lines and hairstyles and make up look most natural and in harmony with your body. Otherwise the youtube channel Merriam Style offers online consultations and lots of information. She is very professional when it comes to this topic.
If you don't like paying for these consultations, I could try to help you too. I'm a romantic body type, and I've helped a lot of friends figure out their type too :)

Most, not all, of the women in the video have similar features because they are all white. Some facial features that black people or Asian people have are not even mentioned in the video. The hair types that were mentioned do not even include that of very coily hair, as seen on black people.

L.C.H OP is right; I found it difficult to differentiate a lot of the features and had no idea how to answer the hair texture part
Pivot B - The lions share of body type evaluation is separate from hair and things like noses. And a lot of them are difficult to evaluate. Having highly textured hair or sleek curtains of heavy Asian hair automatically add a touch of dramatic to whatever else was going on, because the look is still and structured. Your type is determined on how those elements balance with all the other pieces of the puzzle. There is a lot of difference between noses of black women, and Depending on their genetic background, hair may or may not be the stereo typical “black” hair... it might have less texture, and more gentle wave, Which leans toward romantic combined with whatever else is going on. L.C.H thanks so much for the info! The Merriam Style video was really helpful and I’m a lot more clear on how the body types are classified now
The only descriptions that conflict with black people were the hair type ones. Asian people fit in just fine with the descriptions, most of them will have the second hair type and some will have the first one. She didn’t put pictures of Asians but you can use your imagination. You can find non-white noses under the descriptions she said but they just won’t look like the ones she put on screen.

I have done this test on myself now a few times. I love it, much more body positive than the old fashioned "pear" "hourglass" etc test. After using several different photos of myself at different weights and angles, I have come to the conclusion I am a soft classic weirdly enough I sometimes gravitated towards the clothing styles recommended to this type (not always as I have some dodgy things in my closet!). Thanks for an informative and helpful video. Top tip do the same test a few times using different photos & always go off the photo not from what you think.

I always thought all my rounded edges and fleshiness and lack of angularity were because I was overweight and that if I lost weight I would be more angular and less fleshy, but no matter my weight, I have always been this way. Thanks to you, now I see that that's my bone structure (sloped shoulders, not-so-prominent cheekbones, pretty short arms and legs, wide hips) and instead of feeling at fault for not having the features I've wanted now I know I can't change it and that those features can be part of a desirable body type. Turns out I'm just a Romantic! Me and my squishy face are in great company! I really love how you don't favor or show distaste for any particular features and instead emphasize that they all add up to a body type with its own unique vibe and beauty. So many beauty channels tell you how to "hide flaws" and try to look fundamentally different instead of focusing on the full picture and working WITH instead of against your natural body to find your own personal beauty.

Finally I got it. I think I'm a dramatic classic.
A tip for those who's still struggling finding their type, don't let your preconceptions and insecurities about yourself deceive you. This type is about seeing ouself out of the box/objectively. I always see my self as sporty laidback person, so I once thought I must be one of the natural. But I too often portray my self as a charismatic cool woman, and the fact that I'm taller than average compared to the people around me, I thought.. maybe I'm a dramatic. Haha, things got confusing. Then again, so many people say that my body is like a teenager's and my head is larger than average and also a little disproportionately larger compared to my skinny body, so maybe... I'm flamboyant gamine, I thought. Haha.
Now after I learned more and retake the test, I know for sure that I'm a dramatic classic. My answer is mostly A, B, and C. Now I can narrow my conclusion into two, either I'm a dramatic classic or a flamboyant natural. But her explanation about the results really help me conclude.
So, you should divide this test into two series of questions. First half is about the "bone" (bone impression). And second half is about the features (face, body, etc).
So for me, the first half is mostly C, then A. And the second half is mostly B, then A. With this I can safely say that I'm not a flamboyant natural because to have a mixture of B and A doesn't automatically make you a FN. Your first half have to be mostly B! My first half (bone impression) is C. My B is on my face and hair.
So an underweight classic woman with disproportionately fitter/fuller face is confused no more. ;)

This actually helped me, I think I’m a soft natural but was a bit confused as my results were 0A, 5B, 2C, 5D, 4E. Splitting it up into bone and features/body type helped.
The shape of my cheekbones... uhm.... "unexistent"? :D

PSA: t's worth taking your time when doing this test! I did it fast the first time and was convinced I was Flamboyant Natural. Then I thought I was Dramatic. I have finally figured out- after REALLY taking my time and watching vids, and being honest with myself- that I am in fact Dramatic Classic. DC felt right, like it 'clicked'! It didn't with the other 2, something had always felt 'off'.

after watching this informative video, i understand why women have soo much animosity towards me, and it also made me more aware of what i look like to the outside world.
It is not fair that society treats people differently based on how their body is genetically made up, but the silver lining is not everyone feels the same way about the certain body types (while one person might be jealous or feel superior, another will admire or relate more to you). Hopefully, each body type has its own perks alongside the disadvantages. I'm not particularly a fan of being so short, but I'm sure if I were taller and looked more powerful I'd have to be more conscious of how assertive I act or I'd more easily make people angry.

At first I was super confused by my results tbh. I was mostly D (but slightly leaning toward C on most) with equal amounts A and E. Aly describes Soft Gamine as "equal parts A and E with several D" but the way she explained the concept made me think D answers make me more romantic than gamine. I think the quiz is much more conceptual than "mostly A? you're dramatic", etc. You have to put all the information together to get a good understanding :) I think based on this test I would consider myself youthful romantic or MAYBE a very romantic gamine.

You seem to have it figured out but for anybody else (like me) who comes down into the comment section for clarification she has a video comparing all the body types and a video comparing a singular body type to the others! One could also consider where their letters lie if their flesh or bone is more soft or sharp
I have had my weight fluctuate a lot in my life, and that has somehow been very helpful in figuring out my body type. When I am in better shape, it's clear that I am a soft classic and that is what the results of the test gives me. But when overweight lean more into romantic. I think the emphasis on "soft" is important lol

ΑΜΑΛΙΑ ΓΑΖΗ the type at 11:01 says mainly E or D but with several A answers. None of the people you’re replying to said they had the A’s, so there is no “clearly” about having almost all D answers with a couple E’s. There simply isn’t an answer for that in the video, and there definitely isn’t in Kibbe’s test.

REALLY CONFUSED! I got an equal number of B and C with the rest being D. What's that?
I got a similar result! 7 C, 4 B, 4 D are my highest scores. Did you figure out what body type you are? In other videos I feel most similar to a soft natural or soft gamine, but in the video above 'soft natural' mentions no C answers, while 'soft gamine' mentions no C or B!
I think having too many 'B' results excludes you from being on the middle row (on the straight-up romantic-classic-dramatic scale), and the 'D' results lean you towards the softer end, so... Soft Natural. They seem to be allowed to have moderation and symmetry (think ScarJo), whereas classics/soft classics don't seem to be allowed to have bluntness. But the quiz results in the video don't reflect that so I don't know if I understand it right D:
Similarly Gamines seem to be a 'mixture' of extremes, and perhaps that could extend to include a mixture of blunt features (B rather than sharp A) and almost-soft ones (D rather than super-soft E), with your 'C' features simply being unremarkable residue if you aren't classic enough to BE a classic (or on that row). I do know that I am not symmetrical/refined enough in the face to pull off hairstyles recommended to classics in another video, despite having a slim majority of C answers myself. So perhaps I'm onto something. But would very much appreciate input from others on this point...
I have the same problem, I got 5 C's, 4 B's and D's, 2 E's and 1 A. Theoretically I should be a slightly softer classic type (right?), but my bust is very small and I look very young for my age (this overall teenage feel) so I thought I look like a soft gamine even I got almost no A's and E's. At the same time, I don't look "dolly" enough to be a gamine? No huge eyes or rounded face. I'm super confused

My bust not small especially but hips are narrow (another 'natural' type feature...) so I have that soft teenage look, but too much bluntness to be doll-like, except in my wrists... I have been taking notes for both soft gamine and soft natural. I think that where the recommendations are the same (similarity in hair texture for example), it should be a good one for me... But often the recommendations are opposite! D:
My test results: 1A 0B 6C 7D 3E. I did the test several times, sometimes I have more C than D but they are always the most dominant ones. I'm not sure what my type is and would appreciate help 🥰

All features do apply to any kind of people, they may not be as obvious in some cases, although she even explains in which places/features exactly do people tend to gain weight (she has more videos with way more examples, including poc and etc)

Mostly B means you are natural. Other letters might indicate you are soft natural or flamboyant natural.
C indicates an even mix of sharpness and softness and symmatry . So you are a natural with yin/yang combination and symmetry.
And you might be a soft natural or flamboyant natural. This depends on how much softness/roundness you have or sharpness/long bone structure.
My guess would be that you are a soft natural because D indicates softness with some sharpness.
Maybe it is soft natural.
this series is amazing! i am let's say 90% dramatic , and a little bit dramatic classic in the face. Now I learned to accept and love my body type and recognized that I will never get more bust or flesh on the arms, no matter how much weight I'd gain. I also researched kibbe's body type and now I truly See which clothes match me.

it was a bit confusing, i think i'm just ugly because i don't belong to a group fully, i think i'm between theatrical romantic and soft classic.
My body type is mostly C, my facial features are mostly D, and hair is A. That should make me a Soft Classic but since my body is C, shouldn’t that make me a Classic instead? Also, my height is 5’6, so I am a bit confused.
What does it mean when most of your answers are d? I did this test on the internet before, but I always get the most d answers and after that e answers. A great job this video! You chose very good pictures to visualise the answers :)

Thank you for this video, did this the second time a few days later after quite a bit research & picture referencing because it challenged how I saw my body. I’ve always judged my body pretty harshly and being bullied didn’t help. First I got soft natural, realised I’d done the test through the lens of judging myself and what I considered feminine. Did it again, was a lot more objective and got romantic. Mainly got E, a few D. It makes a lot of sense, regardless of how much weight I gain or lose I keep a certain shape, and curve which has always made me assume I was too big or fat because I’m 5’4. I’ve been judging my body so much, wanting it to be a certain way I kinda want to cry about it😂 no matter how small I get I still keep curves on my hips, breasts, thighs & arms. And no matter how big I get my waist remains flat but can look wider. This was very illuminating, especially in what we’ve been taught is feminine from society & bbl culture thank you so much.

This! I'm torn between soft natural and soft gamine. I don't feel like I look like the soft natural examples, but I feel awkward in the gamine clothing examples from other videos. My closet has elements of both. Hard to shop, too, because I'm thick in the middle (look to be about 3-4 months pregnant when I'm not).
