I'm not sure how this was done but I did get to see Harry Lorayne do this for real 2 ft away from me at Ruben's deli in New York City in the early nineties. Harry was one of the world's foremost memory experts and could literally name every person in Johnny Carson's audience. The clip is available on RUclips.
