I love that you're exploring locales off the beaten tourist path. It's great to see how the locals live when they only have their own resources to depend on. Thanks for sharing.
While watching this video I couldn't help but think back to the despair you shared with us when you discovered the poor condition of Karl's hull. Now you are living life and enjoying the ride. Good on ya, you've earned it.
It would seem that the struggles of yesterday are paying off in the joys of today. You inspire people to reach beyond themselves looking not at what they are but what they can become. Thank you.
Another great video. Thanks. What I like (among a lot of other things) about your videos is the honesty. It's not all shiny yachts and expensive gear. Sunshine and luxurious marinas. We get to see a real person(s) sailing a real yacht that requires a lot of maintenance. Real places and poverty. And at the same time beautiful islands and very friendly people. Looking forward to next weeks episode, Stay safe and enjoy, Henk.
Really super video. Thanks for sharing and for continuing on. Really interesting places you are going to . Be safe and fair winds. Keep your first mate, you smile more often.
I really like your videos! And i wanted to say that the quality of filming, cut etc. is getting better and better! Awesome work! Thank you for this! Cheers!
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video. I always enjoy your more unusual shots, loved the change of focus on the little lizard. keep up the great videography! there are so many bad to mediocre sailing videos out there and I really appreciate the effort you put in to make them special.
I've followed you and Carl from the beginning. love all the ups and downs. keep the videos going the wife and I are still waiting to retire so we can untie too. thanks again for great content. Thadeus and Gretchen.
Wow, great photography. This was a really good video. It really shows the lay of the civilization and how they live. It reminds me of home Puerto Rico back in the 60ties. It is also nice to see that your sunburn on your face has cleared up. I felt so bad for you after watching your painting of Karl and how sunburn you got. Take care of that skin sweetee. Thanks for the videos. I always worry about my fellow sailors even though we rarely if ever meet. Fair winds.
ok I must say your videos are much better when you have companionship. They are always so much happier and upbeat. Don't get me wrong, the struggle you show is amazing. But love to see you happy as well.
Those clamps you used to repair your rigging have been known to allow cable to simply slip right out when put under a heavy load sharply. Not saying that will happen to your repair but you might want to make sure they are still tight.
Hi +MISTERComaToes, thx for ur concern. This was just a temporarily fix to get to Rio Dulce. I have by now changed the complete standing rigging and it's looking gooooood :) Ahoy, Nike & Karl
If you get back around to the other side and the manatee restaurant please say Hi to Klause and Annetta for Sterling and Nicol on s/v Rxtasea! There are good lobster around the point at Michaels rock and a waterfall to hike to.
Amazing video. It's a great thing to see people with little means be so friendly and have so much fun. It just shows life isn't about all that stuff is it?
Thanx Nike and happy sails. I can't get enough of your trip so i started watching from the begining again. When you back toGermany how long do you stay and when do you go back to Karl. I am trying to understand how it works. GOD BLESS LOVE & RESPECT
Another great video Nike! Here's a little underwater video tip. Can you change the program on your underwater camera to filter out some of the blue light? Many cameras have an underwater setting. I know that back when I was doing a lot of underwater video that this made all the difference. Have a great time. Be safe.
Thx Andrew, I will have a look but I don't remember seeing that. i just bought a red filter for the GoPro though, that should help :) Ahoy, Nike & Karl
+WhiteSpotPirates I just read this on line discussion of filters. www.uwphotographyguide.com/when-to-use-gopro-filters-underwater I am suprised that your camera doesn't have a program setting for underwater video. You have such excellent video and your videos keep getting better and better. Good luck.
I have been watching your videos from the beginning( or close to the beginning). I love how you make us feel like we're there with you. Love the music, and that green hat. I have a question, what is your ring made of? Fair winds, and may your adventures last forever...
Hi Nike. Glad you are at or have been at a good anchorage. We will leave for there in about a week. We pledged for $25 per week, not sure how to do that., We would love to meet with you sometime if we end up in the same hemisphere at the same time Bruce
Hi +tony grella, well, there are reports every now and then...And that always makes me worry a bit. But usually, I try to see the good and not worry too much. But sometimes it gets you, especially if there is a new report in a region that you are in or close by. On the other hand...if you think how much crime is going on at land, I guess in comparison the life at sea is rather safe. But then, one can never touch wood enough, right?! Ahoy, Nike & Karl
Hi +Neil Shubert, have not really used it much yet...was no need yet cause the longest passage was like 4 days... Will let you know once I used it a bit more. Ahoy, Nike & Karl
Hi +Bob, you can find that info on my website whitespotpirates.com/faq/. I love the GoPro, but I started to use my camcorder more and it just makes the videos so much nicer, IMO...;) Ahoy, Nike & Karl
They were actually in Sandy Bay in Guanaja the same day we were and they wrote to me when we had just left to Micheal Rock and I did not have any internet there, so we just missed each other unfortunately... Ahoy, Nike & Karl
... In USAF Flight Crew Water Survival School, we learned that, if it doesn't look like a regular fish ... it has smooth skin, flashy colors, etc ... don't eat it ... I'm sure Lion Fish would NOT make it on my menu ...
Nice video. Be careful, the s/v seawolf a few months ago thwarted an attempted boarding by 5 men in a small boat. Luckily they had personal protection. I see you sometimes wear a ring on your left ring finger, anything up we should know about.💕💍🎂
Oooh, you are talking about the bling I talked about on Facebook? You will have to wait a bit for that, the videos are a bit behind real time... Ahoy, Nike & Karl
Ah, now I know what you mean...that short video I uploaded the other day was a real time video. The episodes are about three month behind. Sorry for the confusion ;) usually, those real time update just go to the Patrons of Untie The Lines but in December I made an exception amd posted it for everyone...But you will get to see the bling in action eventually... Ahoy, Nike & Karl
+WhiteSpotPirates You mean those who can't afford to be a patron have two wait three months to see the video's? I subscribe to about 90 different sites, how can someone afford to be a patron to all of them? I was wondering why some show summer when it's winter. I guess it's like movies the ones I watch are new to me but about 5 years old.
+theislandpackrat Nope, that's not what I meant :). Everyone gets to see the episode at the same time...There is a three month delay that comes from the need to move around the material, to edit, discuss and upload...It just takes some time and with the three month delay we can (usually ;)) send on time every friday. If you are a Patron you get little aditional treats...on of them is a short unedited real time video message from Karl and me that gets sent out every month. It does not have anything to do with the episodes that you see here. They are and always will be for free and everyone gets to see them the same way. And if you want real time updates, you can also visit facebook.com/whitespotpirates and you will know what is coming up next in Untie The Lines... Ahoy, Nike & Karl
I was on the island for a week in 2005. It has changed so much for the better. Would love to go back. Such sweet people.
These videos are like little slices of heaven. Thank you for sharing!
Welcome Back, Nike! Glad to see all is well with you and "KARL." I wish you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
I love that you're exploring locales off the beaten tourist path. It's great to see how the locals live when they only have their own resources to depend on. Thanks for sharing.
This is what cruising is all about. You nailed it Nike.

Very nice, thank you for some great videos, I like the scuba video!
so cool , a guest on board.
amazing video as usual. I am a power boat guy but you make me want to try sailboats. Glad to see that Karl is behaving :)
Those clamps you used to repair your rigging have been known to allow cable to simply slip right out when put under a heavy load sharply. Not saying that will happen to your repair but you might want to make sure they are still tight.

always great videos, and yes the lionfish are a problem, especially here in south Florida...
Thanx Nike and happy sails. I can't get enough of your trip so i started watching from the begining again. When you back toGermany how long do you stay and when do you go back to Karl. I am trying to understand how it works. GOD BLESS LOVE & RESPECT
great video!!
Esta es vida!
Your vids are really good.
Wow, great video! Love the colors and textures, your videos just keep getting better! Do you mind sharing what kind of cameras you are using?
Hi +Marty Worline, not at all :). You can find that info on my website whitespotpirates.com/faq/.
Ahoy, Nike & Karl
you inspire us :) thanks

great video at about 3:12 there was a menu hanging with food prices was that in US currency?
Hi +jerry b, One US dollar is about 22 Honduran Lempiras, so a Hamburger is about 2$, Burritos 1.50$ a juice 0.50$ etc.
Ahoy, Nike & Karl

Hi Nike still sailing along with you. You mentioned pirates and i was wondering how bad of a problem that is.
Hi +tony grella, well, there are reports every now and then...And that always makes me worry a bit. But usually, I try to see the good and not worry too much. Are you going to get over to Belize? We lived in Punta Gorda back in the 90's. (I'm actually a geographer as well) :)
Hi +Dan Haug, no, I think I will skip Belize...but not 100% sure yet :).
Ahoy, Nike & Karl
Amazing video, how is the iridium internet working out? Safe sailing!
Hi +Neil Shubert, have not really used it much yet...was no need yet cause the longest passage was like 4 days...
Will let you know once I used it a bit more.
Ahoy, Nike & Karl
Besides a Gopro, what other video camera are you using. Great videos, keep safe and enjoy your life
Hi +Bob, you can find that info on my website whitespotpirates.com/faq/. I love the GoPro, but I started to use my camcorder more and it just makes the videos so much nicer, IMO...;)
Ahoy, Nike & Karl
There seem to be ~60s of "black screen" (between 9m and 10:08 running time), after the credits and all. Anyone else experience that?
+Dan Kingsbury yes
*ups*
get to Cayos Chachahuate........
nice
did you ever meet up with seawolf, another youtube blogger?
They were actually in Sandy Bay in Guanaja the same day we were and they wrote to me when we had just left to Micheal Rock and I did not have any internet there, so we just missed each other unfortunately...
Ahoy, Nike & Karl

AWESOMES EATING LIONFISH !
And it was soooo good :)!
Your spanish is near perfect.
I love everywhere that you go and eat but, being honest, have you had more than the average number of upset tummies over the years?
Nice video. Be careful, the s/v seawolf a few months ago thwarted an attempted boarding by 5 men in a small boat. Luckily they had personal protection. I see you sometimes wear a ring on your left ring finger, anything up we should know about.💕💍🎂

NO...
where's all the bling on Carl you talked about?
Oooh, you are talking about the bling I talked about on Facebook? You will have to wait a bit for that, the videos are a bit behind real time...

The man cleaning the crabs didn't really look or sounded that friendly...!
Didn't know people ate lion fish? Being so small an poisonous seems like to much work for the amount of reward.
oh, but it is so worth it, they are really soft and tasty!
