This isn't just a Volvo problem there are a lot of vehicles with aluminum rims that get seized on to the steel rotors I bought a Jetta that hadn't had a tire off for years and they were stuck on pretty bad too. This shouldn't be a problem if you live somewhere that you put seasonal tires on or if you drive enough that you need to rotate them regularly but if you don't I buff the corrosion off the wheel and the rotor and put a little nickel-coat on the areas that corrode. The advice some guys give to drive it with loose lug nuts might work but you run the risk of damaging the studs. A good kick to the outer edges or if you have a big hammer hit it from behind and underneath letting the hammer head slide on the ground so you don't smack your rim, keep your face back and away as it can rebound off the tire pretty good some times. Always a good Idea to have it braced with more than just the jack and be careful not to be under the car when you do this just in case.
After you remove the bolts and the tire Sticks, put the bolts back on not tight! lower the jack to the ground. The weight to the car will dislodge the tire.
Thank you, one of mine wouldn't come off. Set her back down and it dislodged. Used a little bit of copper anti seize around the end of the bearing to help it not happen again
If it's really stuck, go to the hardware , buy a pulling tool for 15 € , if you can shake it ,it ain't stuck, when they are stuck the bounce if with a bang, be careful.
damn, that really freaked me out the first time it happened to me. I ended up driving it around the block - with the wheel completely flat, as uncomfortable as it sound, it solved the problem. Definitely weird, never seen it or heard it in another vehicle.
I know, me too! I was thinking “oh great, there’s some special bolt connecting this wheel here that I can see!” Glad this videos is helping some Volvo owners. Thanks for the feedback!

Good Tip! Thanks
I use a 2 lb sledge and bang the tire lightly on the sidewall all the way around to break it from the rotor.

Wonderful. Thanks for sharing the feedback!! 😀
Reading these comments gives me great concern about what kind of nincompoops have turned their automobiles into dangerous projectiles.

A bucket of hot water pops the wheel off
Interesting 🤔. Thanks for sharing that tip!
@@DriveTimeDIY Or a garden watering can. Never fails.

I have had my tire cane off the ri
I have had my tire come off the rim
Omg! That’s scary! 😮
just give it the mule kick... car is far too heavy to be shifted... only use anti-seize on the hub lip, not any lubricant
Great tip thanks the kicking definitely helped
Yes, good point on the anti seize grease
