- Today we're looking at a graphics card that launched exsluviely in China back in 2019. Thanks to SOYO and AliExpress, it's finally avaialble to the masses, but should you buy one?
Test Specs:
i5 12400F
32GB DDR4 3200 (2x16GB)
GPU: SOYO AMD Radeon RX 560 XT

The RX 560XT is a Rebranded RX 470D which was a dumping ground for all the failed RX 470s that cannot even hit 2048SP, Polaris had quite a large bit of failure rate from manufacturing, which is why AMD made so many 2048SP RX 580s.
The 1792SP RX 470D was initially meant for mining as the core didn't matter as much but memory bus does. But as mining died downed they rebranded it as the RX 560XT for gaming purposes, which explains the single HDMI output.
True. It is also comparable in GPU power to PS4 GPU . So basically games that run well on PS4 (like GTA V) will run well on this too.
@@aleksazunjic9672 PS4 is around gtx750ti / rx460.... PS4 Pro is a around rx570 / 580. This GPU is probably close to twice of PS4 gpu.
This GPU matches the RX6400, GTX 1650 and A380 in rasterization performance but, unlike the rest of those GPUs, the 560XT doesn't support DX12U. At least this one works with official drivers.
Interestingly, there are some RX 470D that can have all 2048sp enabled with a vbios flash, and there had been some words floating around saying the RX580 2048sp can be upgraded to 2304sp through a similar process. I have only tested the theory on a 2048sp RX580 myself with failure, but there is a lot more success stories for the RX 470D, and maybe for the RX 560XT as well. AMD don't do as good of a job at disabling shaders back then as they do now.
I remember buying RX 470D from china, I flashed RX 470 bios and managed to unlock rest of the cores. I was lucky since mine was rock stable for many years.
Soyo was actually a known brand back in the 90s. Would like to know if today´s Soyo is the same thing as back then.
Ah that’s a cool piece of info. I’ll look into it!
It's not, "Soyo" these days is just Maxsun
@@RandomGaminginHD There are 232 Soyo motherboards on The Retro Web, spanning from 80386 era to Pentium 4 era.
Soyo was legendary during the VIA chipset days in the early 00s. Side note I do miss Soltek, Epox and Leadtek🥲
@@contadeusuario7806 I'm rocking a Maxsun H610 board rn and will definitly get an AM5 maxsun board. Half the price, bare minimum but worth it with vrms and what not. Pretty cool for budget gaming
That's a sapphire rx shroud painted white
Yeah looks like it 😁
I had to walk over and pick up my beloved Sapphire RX 470 when I saw it. I almost want to buy one of these now...
So not a bad thing?
@@ronniemoysey8854 Not at all, as long as the price is right
@@haydn-db8z I hope you carefully placed it back down again. no bruising, please.
TBH you could use it as is. Build a low cost banger box for gaming on single player games with this. Could be fun.
To give you more info on this. It uses the same architecture as mining boards that the mining cards used. Example like the RX470D which was a mining variant. Thats why there is only 1 HDMI port. They essentially used a mining card and converted it to a gaming card (bios flash , ect.) Its actuaslly cost effective as then can buy these mining boards for cheap , do some modifications to the HDMI port (to make it work , soldering) and a bios reflash and done).
Some of them originally had DVI out
@@mr.moonmn1436 It's actually the 560 minin variant with a bios flash, the actual 560 xt has all ports
is this why they run at such low temps?
I was honestly impressed how it never went over 60C on those benchs.
@@LucasCunhaRocha It's basically using a beefy cooler on a GPU that never needed it, if it used the standard cooler for this GPU you'd still barely see it hit over 65°
The fact this is the price the rx 580 2048sp had on that site half a year ago and the prices have changed so much is crazy
Don't mind a Chinese Takeaway myself .......
You are funny! 😆
i just saw the sub count 529k.. ive been here since 13k....(on a different yt account i lost) great work dude, always loved your videos when i was in school.. that's a couple years back now tho XD
MAN, I ALWAYS COME BACK TO YOUR CHANNEL! It's been years and you get lost in the algorithm sometimes but I always revisit! Great video as always m8!
Ive had a couple of 580s from AliExpress and not had a problem with them at all however seeing this in white Im severely tempted. Great to see GPU packaging artwork hasnt completely died out. Thanks Steve, great video
At 1792 cores its closer to the 2048 cores of the RX 570 than to the 1024 cores (or even 876 of the cut down) RX 560.
My RX 570 is only 4GB so I guess in current year this 560XT is better buy.
Your 570 will still be fine, it should just beat the 560XT by a smallish margin. At least my old Sapphire 570 4GB would.
I just got this very card last week - It is a rebranded RX 470D, and was mostly used a mining card.
Early group!! Love your vidros, your voice is relaxing and its always so informative 😊
Thank you!
Brilliant video as always, love me some quirky pc tech
Scored. Loved building with Soyo boards back in the day. They did some fun color ways.
this channel never fails to surprise me. lowk the reason why im heavily into computer parts
I used to have a Soyo Dragon SY-KT333 motherboard. Hearing that brand name again brought back memories...
YES! Someone finally reviewed this thing! Thank you
Thanks for another fun video, I dig these old cards. That 560 XT really outperforms an RX 460.
That's a really nice looking graphics card, good modelling too 😁
Woah! Did we just upload the same video on the same day. 😮 Hope all is well my man
wild, i seen them both, nice video as always
I was gonna say… LOL
most painfully annoying and repetitive computer channel on the entire site.
@@brandonlehman7440 No, I hold that honor 🤣🤣🤣
I was browsing Aliexpress today for a card, and I've stumbled upon this. Wonder what it was. Now you upload this video. Nice timing.
our store sells their GPUs regularly for 2 years now because our customers are cheap. so we only give em a few months warranty with these products and it's a win win situation so far. but mostly only their RTX 3060 12gb and RTX 2060 super
Great video!
Honestly, even with the limited output, cant complain with that performance at that price

Really nice unique looking card and not many to be found in the wilderness, I would say it's a steel at £50 even just as one to keep for your collection
Great Video!
Omg that box art is badass.
Your facial expression while handling that card was at points, akin to a person picking up after their dog during walkies.
Walkies? Wtf..
@@AgentLazarus Okay, Laz.
I love the vanilla Sapphire shroud haha
I bought a Soyo RX 580 2048sp and it died after about a day. Luckily, the person I sold it to lived close by so I was able to replace it with a different gpu for him, but still sucked to lose the $60. I haven’t bought any aliexpress GPUs since then. Great experience with Aliexpress CPUs, including my 7500F
Soyo sells reworked original sapphire / other brand cards recycled from mining. They have huge fail rate after using for gaming unless you apply huge undervolt underclock... with 580 is very hard to do so... every bios is 1200+
5:26 that was a sick drift man
Yes true
i have the soyo 5700xt, bought it for 100 usd and its running amazingly so far for 7 months
I actually have a socket 7 mainboard made by Soyo, the SY-5BT from 90s. It's build quality is nice, Soyo is good manufacturer.
It looks like a Kmart version of the Sapphire 5 series cards. And I love the looks of those.
It has the same cooler as an Sapphire RX 470 / RX 480, just painted white.
It's a same card... quad uefi miner reworked to be something else appearance wise.
The box design a la Nvidia is a little bit weird but the card design is nice!
It reminds me of the XFX cards with those little dimples. I love XFX card design, I have an XFX 6750 XT myself
Not bad! And I managed to get Forza Horizon 4 as well on sale, due to it being removed from Steam sometime soon. You can get it on game key websites after removal, assuming the stockists have game keys left, but the price will go up and availability will be limited.
It's a shame that these game developers remove games that they think people won't play anymore.
what are you on about? PG removed FH4 due to licensing issues... same reason as older titles
idk why I find it funny when you turn it around slowly revealing the one hdmi in the corner, its like its screaming "THIS IS WHAT YOU PAID FOR", its just so in character for a chinese product
Yeah. I saw that one HDMI port and thought "that's it? Really? A little underwhelming. Seems like a not too bad card for around $60 on aliexpress
It's targetted to internet cafes that usually just has one monitor per PC. Even in a gimped RX580, it is enough for competitive play.
to be fair, I am using pc's for quite a long time now and I never used more than one VGA or DVI connector. Roughly one year ago I plugged in my first monitor via HDMI xD
Dual monitor also wastes a lot of energy, In short I would be fine with one HDMI connector. ^^
PLEASE do more Aliexpress cards! they are something I can actually afford, and I am so scared to pull the trigger on an aliexpress card
Not bad for a nice budget build.
Card seems like the quality kind of card for the price. I may pick up one.
Got an RX6600M mobile GPU on a PCIe card from Ali Express, and it works surprisingly well in my desktop PC.
I ordered last week a Soyo rx550 from aliexpress, it was on discount aroud 40$ from 100$ cause the summer sale.
Been working great for a week now, temps seem fine.
I didn't perform any detailed tests but the benchmarks I get with this GPU seems good.
It's been a huge upgrade from my nvidia 730gt.
What processor did you pair it with?
@@allaniman8829 with my existing I3 6100
I recently paired a rx 580 8gb 2048sp i got from aliexpress for £50 with a 7500f for £100, upgrade-able and great for most things.
i got a 1tb nvme gen 3x4 for £30 and 32gb of 6000mhz teamgroup expert ram for £70, after some testing im surprised its all legit for so cheap
eventually i can upgrade but gpu prices are too overpriced lol.
Soyo used to be the OEM for HP until HP brought out the alienwear brand. I have an old HP Pavilion with the original Soyo 240 HD GPU it’s from early 2000. It was built for video editing.
Splendid
Honestly, I always love graphic cards with boxy design like this
you should do a +20% TDP test and a easy overclock test to see how compare to a rx570
One of my friend had a Soyo mainboard around 96-97 back in hungary
i had a SOYO H610M motherboard, it has a VRM cooler on it that it looks overkill for an entry level board lol
its been solid for almost 2 years aside from the moody memory compatibility, everything else runs smoothly. It even still has BIOS updates and is compatible with 14th gen intel.
RandomGaming got da Virgil chair!!!!!
This is extremely decent for $50 and i myself would personally buy this. it even looks decent - runs great
The Funny thing is, I also happen to have a China/AliExpress - only AMD Radeon GPU, It's a Radeon R7 350 2GB D5 [Sapphire Nitro - branded, and it's Dual Fan, the shell looks like a modern graphics card, just like the RX 560XT in your hand but Silver/Gray] , the funny thing is about its SOLE existence being only in AliExpress, and R7 350 doesn't seem to exist anywhere else (other than AliExpress for the hardware and AMD's Website for Drivers ofc). Yeah, not even in Sapphire's Website. Thought it's a cool piece of GPU to have.
I love that the box looks like a Nvidia box just for better marketing
That's a gaming graphics card right there!
the cooler and shroud came from old sapphire rx570 and repainted white also the heatsink they painted silver to make look clean haha
You need to test more soyo products, they are pretty underrated only for being Chinese, the plastic feels a little sus but the rest is fine
The CS2 gameplay was painful
My first PC was an AMD 450mhz K6 2 back in 1998. Reason I mention that is ti came with a Soyo motherboard. When I got around to replacing that PC I looked for a Soyo Motherboard to put in the new one and they just couldn't be found. I wasn't sure what happened to the company. They just faded away.
I just got an RTX 3050 8GB model and to get up and running ASAP, I’m going with an i5 12400f and an $89 Gigabyte DDR5 H610 motherboard for $204 plus taxes on my next payday in 2 weeks.
Looks like Sapphire dumped their excess parts onto SOYO. The card seems to have the same cooler/backplate as rx 570 pulse, just painted white. There were also rx 470 mining cards with the same shroud using the rx 570 pulse pcb, but without the backplate. The mining cards also have just one output, but I've mostly seen DVI variants. Interesting card either way.
Your facial expression in this video makes me think of that middle eastern guy (i think) that would always smile at the camera while cooking a huge meal, who now frowns at the camera
Interesting review, better to buy new budget gpus mayne than risk used market? Thanks for reviewing👍
Thanks for watching!
I see so many 580's locally for around 50 bucks. Some great models too, sapphire nitro for 60 right now. Id personally go that route but this doesn't seem bad at all if you have no local deals
I feel like this is the same idea being used today, the Rx 7600(lowest tier flagship) comes with 8gbs of vram but gets boosted to 16gbs for the XT model. The Rx 560 also gets is vram capacity boosted for it's XT model🤔
soyo is a pretty decent brand! I've gotten a cheap soyo monitor and hell, it works fine, not the very best, but its fine to daily drive
Oh nice I didn’t know they did monitors
Check out Toasty Bros' review of the Mougol RX 560XT. May as well be twins.
That is probably the first GC I've seen with just one HDMI output, such lack of ports in general is very rare from what I've seen. Guess it says something about the intended use for this model? Maybe a gaming cafe card?
apparently it was a rebranded RX 470D that was initially designed for mining, which explains the single output.
I am at job and had video on mute at start, and i swear to God i hear his "Hello everyone and velcome to another video"
One single HDMI output?! I have never seen modern stuff like this. Used to my VGA had one output but that was 25 years ago
I feel like the singular output puts this in the "Internet Cafe" hardware group.
Yeah that’s a good point
more chinese oddities please :-)
Seems like it wasn't using more than 4GB vram most of the time. Good review as always
The cooling shroud is using the same molds that Sapphire used for a bunch of their Polaris cards.
How do you manage lighting for both indoor and outdoor shots in a video?
Wow lol this is the original shroud and fan of the sapphire nitro+ rx 470
The whole thing is a nitro miner quad uefi reworked manually soldier... it's a sapphire underneath.
I bought FH4 today, Deluxe Ed. How could I not? It's Brit Forza, with Brit seasons.
SOYO?! I haven’t heard from them in almost 20 years. My first Athlon XP system used a Soyo motherboard that I got for like $30
Can I male a suggestion? On Steam sale there is Lossless scaling on sale, can you test that on an older system like the elden ring setup and see what it actually does? Like what does lossless scaling do on an rx 580 or what is it actually doing? Is the cpu making the frames or the gpu is getting extra frames? Questions...
Nice of you to help everyone in csgo 2 on their K/D ratio.
I had a RX580 2048SP that was used in China for mining rigs, it was a modified RX570 with an overclock to 2048MHz, and had the same 8gb ram that the 580 got. Kinda sucked because it only had 3 outputs (2 hdmi, 1 DVI), I ended up getting a RX580 to replace it with 5 ports (2 HDMI, 1 DP, 1 DVI). I wish they still made 5 display gaming cards.
The Cooler and back plate looks identical as Saphhire Nitro+ from RX400 era
Thats a lot faster than the 560 quite impressive really
Semi-OT: There seems to be a new hype in town, the window scaling and frame generation software "Lossless Scaling" which brings upscaling and frame generation to games which don't have it built in. Could you give it a try, maybe also with video playback?
The box art did not make me think that a white card was going to pop out of that box. I thought I would be something with a Big Read Dragon plastered all over it.
I've bought a few soyo cards, 5500 xts, and while they had 3 DP and 1 HDMI, only the HDMI worked.
worth the money
I think a 1660ti review is in order!
4:38 should try doin competitive cs2 look very pro at cs2
'
Interesting that it has the Sapphire Nitro Pulse shroud and cooler.
Can you use the CS2 Benchmark workshopmap for more consistent/compareable results?
Lol i bought one of these in 2021 for 65 euro for my sisters pc have to say it still works pretty ok she only plays sims and a few other non taxing games not a bad little card on a tight budget
That single HDMI port and way more VRAM it would normally be shipped with ... dunno, it gives me the mining vibe.
one of them cards aimed at internet cafe set ups over in asia
It would be interesting if it was more or less an RX 570 that didn’t require a power connector.
Cards that don’t use a power connector in that price range would be useful even if they were a little weak.
Paint that fence lad 😉
hey man, loving you vids, i got a ryzen 5 2600 and rtx 4060(the 1 fan version seeing in your vids) 8gb vram, 16 gb of ram, but elden ring struggles to maintain 60 fps in some areas, do i need to upgrade the cpu? i was thinking of ryzen 7 5800X
Your bottleneck is definitely the CPU - try to find a 5700X or 5700X3D if you can.
The 4060 is only using 8 pcie gen 4 lane instead of full 16 like the 3060/2060. Your cpu is pcie 3. So it can only use 8 lane pcie gen 3 that what make it significant bottleneck.
Having a single video out is so weird these days lol
The last time I had a card like that, it was a RIVA TNT2, with one VGA output.
Brooo!!! 'Member Soyo? I 'member!
I bought a Soyo Rx 6600m, for just 150 usd, flashed it to a normal rx 6600 to have full control.. it feels like the best f*cking upgrade I've done for my pc, considering the local rx 6600 is +240 usd, and the 3060 is +300 usd
I request that you test using armored core
