This is 8 years ago but I love it..used to hunt there with a sling...came across a lobster once that was at least 32 inches from eye to tail...antane were 4 foot long.. that's what gave it away...two long antane coming out from under a rock..poked it in the back with my hand and it shot out and was walking on that sea grass... UNBELIEVABLY HUGE! HONESTLY IT LOOKED LIKE A DINOSAUR CRAWDAD WITH NO PINCHERS! about 1983...
Is that the el Moro cliffs. I though reef point was where the off limits started. If el Moro cliffs are good to go I need to get in on that. Always wanted to hunt there
+kelppaddie I got a nice 25 lb sheepshead on the el Moro cliffs a little less than a year ago. It's a good swim but beautiful. The no spear area starts just south of it
is it legal to SF in Laguna? i know i have seen a lot of SF going on in salt creek beach that's illegal but it would be cool to SF in a coral area liek Laguna. not hating i just moved to CA and wanted to get into this but cant find a beach that its legal in

And that’s good to know, I normally hang in rock pile or crescent beach laguna I’ll have to look it up. Use to freedive for lobster in Oceanside till I moved 3 years ago need another aquatic hobby haha
No you do not as long as you have a sport fishing license for fresh and saltwater you are fine I have a fresh and saltwater with two Rod enhancement and that covers everything I do it's called a sport fishing license for a reason that's for California though
Arnold, watch the video again and count how many fish I do not take. Divide the number of fish I did take (2) by that number. What is your answer? Less than 100%? If so, troll somewhere else.

Certain places in Laguna. Most of Laguna is closed. Salt creek is LEGAL. Look up the regulations on the Fish and game MPA website.

You're right all fishing is banned in Laguna. But this looks like Crystal Cove just outside Laguna, where it's legal to fish with the right permits.
