I think Thor underwent a lot of growth himself because he's worried here but so pleased for Cap in Endgame. I think Thor felt possessive of Mjolnir for a long time but after all he went through, he realised that a lot of stuff he put stock in didn't matter. Even at the end of Infinity War, the directors said Thor wanted to taunt Thanos as he killed him so Thanos would know it was Thor who killed him hence chest shot rather than an immediate death. Thor wanted to savour that kill but his huge guilt for his arrogance and ego afterwards made him understand, just like the Ancient One said to Strange, that he was never about him. Hence why Thor so pleased for Cap in Endgame.

*To the people in the replies*
First of all, there's no way Cap "pretended" that he can't lift mjolnir because you could literally see how his veins came out to lift it and another thing worth mentioning is that the hammer will instantly feel very light to you if you're worthy,so if Cap was already worthy in this scene, then he should automatically lift it before he can even react to "act" as y'all claimed. Second, the most plausible theory as to why Steve couldn't lift it in this movie is that he was still keeping the secret about how Bucky killed Tony's parents. Let me ask you this,do you really think that mjolnir would deem a guy who kept a secret on his how friend's parents got killed by his other (brainwashed)friend as someone with a pure heart?

I miss the old team so much. I don't dislike the new team because they're of a certain race or gender, or because they're overpowered (look at how far THOR has come while remaining loveable). I miss the old team because it felt like a family hanging out, and the new team is just a bunch of strangers who barely seem to know each other exist-especially Captain Marvel who's apparently been going out of her way to avoid Earth according to her newest movie.

To me, the look Thor makes more communicates a curious, "Did he just...?" feeling to me, rather than the look of worry that someone was just about to upstage him by lifting Mjolnir. Just my reading of it.

Cause it's one of the few MCU scenes in which the Avengers are hanging out and having fun like normal people, with no giant Damocles sword above their heads. Even in Civil War, they're hanging out because of the Accords. Here? They're just celebrating.

I feel this is one of the reasons why Peter Parker makes such a great hero. His life outside of his role of spider-man isn't as connected to his superhero life as much as Tony or Cap's is. At the end of the day he's a kid with a bit more life experience taking on some extra responsibilities. Spider-man is awesome.
