That scene might be a shout out to another scene in the first Strange movie, when Mordo gave Strange the WiFi password at the Temple and Strange first thought it was a spell or code.
Classic Dr. Strange was so OP in the comics, they continously nerfed him for decades, trying to find the right balance for their Final Boss of Magic. Physically weak, but Boss tier magic is ridiculously hard to balance. The fine line of glass cannons being completely useless easy kills, to being ubsurdly broken back line spell spammers is still an ongoing struggle, that no one has quite figured out yet. This was a great scene though. Thor is a melee that could've easily pummeled Dr. Strange in such close quarters, but Strange's magic confused Thor just long enough for another unexpected spell to do serious damage. Marvel made them both look strong.
@@halogalaxy5612 That's just a bad idea all around, bringing stronger and stronger enemies and just mindlessly upping the power creep always end up in a mess.

3:04 Aw man, definitely one of my favorite scenes of the movie! Just twelve awkward seconds waiting for Mjölnir to come while it destroys everything on its path and Thor's awkwardness makes it even better. Loki being upset of course is the cherry on top😂
And right before that Thor was annoyed at Strange for teleporting instead of walking, when Thor could've just walked over to where he put it and picked it up.
@The Program And he already knew that Tony Stark was a egotistical pain in the ass, and set in motion the one future that killed Stark and _that_ Loki…

The fact that Thor forgot about his hammer and not his brother shows that he neither cares for fame nor power. All he needs is family. Great scene and great moment
While I do like them, pretty much every scene he's in causes major problems for his power level. Here he's teleporting everywhere including someone else, forming things into reality, seemingly transmogrifying them and finding the direct location of anyone he needs to. All of these things could've been massively useful in every apperance of his after this (bar maybe the last one) but he never does them again. They always give him a power for a joke and then never think of the implications, him teleporting without a ring breaks any stakes of his character ever.
@@calumbarry1829 well I'm not entirely sure but I heard that he's most powerful while within his own domain, that being the sanctum sanctorum, where he reigns supreme. I love how the movie indirectly addresses that the first thing Dr. Strange tried to do was just call Thor on his phone but instead, he abducts his brother and leaves a cryptic message. Because Thor does not have a phone. It adds a layer of realism that Strange did try to approach Thor like a normal person and was effectively forced into mysterious wizard mode.
even funnier when you realize he couldve just done the thing he does with tony in infinity war where he just teleports to him via portal, he probably did that with tony BECAUSE his meeting with thor was so chaotic in comparison

It is the way of Wizards to utilize trickery to overwhelm superior opponents. Given how many times Loki has used trickery in the same manner, you'd think that he'd watch for it more :P
Notice how unlike with Thor, Strange let's Peter Parker actually come in. He's probably more cautious with Thor than with Peter because Thor is powerful and he knows very little about him and he brought Loki with him, while he's more trusting with Peter because he fought with him in Infinity War and Peter is less likely to be a threat.
There should be a cartoon series where Thor, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Hulk, Hawkeye, BlackWidow, Captain America, Falcon, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider and Black Panther fight Galactus

BorneYesterday20 the only reason he was wearing gloves was because he was only in this scene. Otherwise makeup would have had to spend an hour on his hands to scar them up, but the makeup artist for this movie isn’t the same as the one used in Dr. Strange
For the Sorcerer Supreme, these are merely cantrips that he can cast and recast at any time. The only spell with a limited use was the Sling Ring to Odin's exile, since he needed a strand of Thor's hair. Everything else was just him controlling who comes into his Sanctum Sanctorum, what weapons/umbrellas they wield, and their positions within the Sanctum.
The power difference between these characters is so well illustrated in this clip. Dr Strange is in another league just throwing Thor and Loki around like they're children that he has herd along with him from room to room.
Loki is the God of Mischief, all magical powers you can think of Loki has mastered all of them. There's a reason why Kang the Conquerer and Dr Strange both fear Loki and his power to completely change or destroy reality. in the Loki series Classic Loki conjures an entire city as an illusion to trick Alioth. The Loki variants are extremely poweful. Our Loki just doesn't realise how powerful he is yet.
Actually, my read on this scene is that Strange very adroitly maneuvered the Asgardians to neutralize their very strong power levels. Loki immediately gets tossed into a pocket dimension where he just falls and can’t do anything about it. Thor gets subjected to teleportations & time-skips under the guise of hospitality, so he’s almost constantly disoriented (when he isn’t drinking beer). Meanwhile, Strange takes advantage of this to gather information on how to shoo the Asgardians away from the vulnerable Earth without escalating things into a Gods vs Wizards conflict.
Must have been dumbed down for plot convenience... They constantly nerf Dr. Strange because they don't know what to do with him. Infinity War is probably the best realization of the character in the MCU.

The damnest thing about Dr. Strange (and I have been a Dr. Strange fanatic since the 70's - he was my favorite because his power is learned, not being born a god or exposed to gamma radiation or something horrific that would just probably melt your skin off), but the thing about Strange, if I understand it properly, was that he wasn't teleporting himself and Thor around the mansion so much as he was moving the universe around the two of them as a fixed point of reference. That is some serious power. THAT is what I loved about Dr. Strange. He learned his shit from a book. Actually getting bit by a radioactive spider gives you leukemia, not super powers.
I like interactions like these in the MCU where you have guests that show up for a little bit but they don't necessarily have to be part of the whole thing or part of the main cast. Another good one is the Falcon in Ant Man 1, and if we go way back then Hawkeye in Thor 1. Modern MCU movies could use some more of these
After appearances in two Avengers movies, a Spider-Man and his own origin film, I still feel like these four minutes are the best MCU version of Dr. Strange.
I just love how this scene perfectly establishes just how freaking powerful Strange really is. Not any bombastic explosions or over-the-top special effects, he just casually moves reality without even lifting a finger, and why? To move around his own house. If this had been his introductory scene in the MCU I would quite frankly have been terrified of him even if he was a hero. Given how he's even more absurd in the comics, rightly so.
The glass refilling is a little wink to a Thor story in Norse Mythology. Where he had to drink a horn ( Glass) of Ale ( Beer), but as much as he would drink the level in the horn didn't change. Because the horn was connected to the Ocean.
Actually, the volume of ale in the mug did change, but not by much. However, in the real world this translated to Thor lowering global sea levels by several thousand feet. Marvel may not have gotten every aspect of Thor right, but one thing they kept from the original myths was the fact that he is seriously OP.

That scene might be a shout out to another scene in the first Strange movie, when Mordo gave Strange the WiFi password at the Temple and Strange first thought it was a spell or code.
I've resigned myself to the fact that Dr Strange will never be as casually badass as he was in this scene ever again.
🥲🥲🥲🥲
Why was he so pathetic in his own sequel, man...?
@@Fermion.nerfing a op character is not a good way to balance character, introducing a stronger enemy is a better solution.

I like his gloves, shame he took them off for Infinity War.
Loki is the God of Mischief, all magical powers you can think of Loki has mastered all of them. @@WarfightersWorkshop Which is a shame. I want to see the bat shit crazy power they have. I suppose the writers have to balance other characters too.
Why could we not have gotten THIS version of Strange for his recent sequel? Competent and at the center of the stage when he's on it.
Must have been dumbed down for plot convenience... They constantly nerf Dr. Strange because they don't know what to do with him. Infinity War is probably the best realization of the character in the MCU.

What about the droid attack on the wookies ?
@@jiribarta7555 it's critical we send an attack group there emmediately
Dr Strange: take a seat.
Me: *takes seat*
Dr Strange: What are you doing here?
Me: "Uh....I'm just visiting a friend."
Dr Strange: "A friend?? Who's fifteen?"
Me: "Nothing wrong with that I think. I met him online."
Dr Strange: "Online. You are a sick and twisted person. You need help. But first, I think you've got some place to go. Three years, maybe you deserve five. These gentlemen will lead you there."
Doctor Strange needs to wear these new robes and gloves for the sequel. LOOK AT IT!!!!!
My favorite wizard
The gloves are perfection.
Just like the comics.... after Tony Stark he’s my 2nd favourite avenger
I don't like those gloves, it makes him look like he was about to do the dishes.
Kramer voice: "Look at it!"
The confused look when the beer fills up magically. Priceless
Thor here: why the hell do I need a computer?
Thor in endgame: me plays fortnite with noobmaster 69 and will win no matter what
They're playing on a console. There's still a good chance they don't know what a computer is
@@IAmSwatchingYou maybe but he should have seen computers on midgard and there is Tony's tech too
@@IAmSwatchingYou game consoles are still computers
@@yakinyamaddi why would he see computers on Asagard? Even if their magic is an extension of science they perform their science or magic by mental projection, no machines (computers) involved.
Sorry just re-read your comments you said Midgard not Asagard my mistake.
@@richardwentworth1873 no problem
i used to feel bad about all of those priceless artifacts getting smashed by the umbrella but then i remembered strange can turn back time with the time stone and fix them, yay
I didn’t because strange was messing with Thor
but then Thor would just show up again anyway
nvm your right he could restore them like that apple
You used to feel bad because of movie articles hahahaha how sad
There always some...consequences.

Yes😀
What about a genetically modified spider?
@@mariobadia4553 genetically modified leukemia.
@@ArousedRat1 *Oh GOD, I cracked up at this response!*
Actually reading a book doesn't teach you magic... You know that, right?
I like interactions like these in the MCU where you have guests that show up for a little bit but they don't necessarily have to be part of the whole thing or part of the main cast. Another good one is the Falcon in Ant Man 1, and if we go way back then Hawkeye in Thor 1. Modern MCU movies could use some more of these
After appearances in two Avengers movies, a Spider-Man and his own origin film, I still feel like these four minutes are the best MCU version of Dr. Strange.
3:32 Just shows how happy Thor is to see Loki being bullied 😂
Considering how often Loki bullied, tricked, and deceived his brother, he more than deserves it lmao
