    looks good, I like those old Simplicity tractors. Well built.
    I've made those wire belt guides before out of steel rod. Heat it up and bend the profile.

      Ross Thoms Yea that's a great idea! Never thought of doing something like that to keep that belt on the pulleys. Well I'll remember that one for a future project, just sold the Simplicity today, and cleared about $300. Thanks for watching.

    Really looks nice. You should have done a video of it running? I think you are pretty fast getting that far in only one week. Thanks for sharing Ken.

      The Shade Tree Fix-it Man Thanks George, but in reality it took about a month to get this thing completed. The video clip that mentioned a week was what it took to complete the seat. I thought about videoing it running, maybe next time. I've got another one in the works, I'll get a before and after video on that one. Thanks for watching.

    Maybe you can make guards for those pulleys, or get them made. Just something simple that would fit, it doesn't have to be original equipment to be safe. Great job, it looks really good.

    Looks good ! I would put a guard on those pulleys .You wouldn't want anyone to loose some toes or a foot in there. I lost two fingers when I was five in an unguarded water pump pulley.Not nice . Mark.

      Mark Bow Yea you are right, the only problem is finding pulley covers for this model would be almost impossible to find, it's quite an old lawn tractor. Sorry to hear about your accident, had a neighbor do the same thing with a go cart sprocket when I was a kid.

      You could make them yourself. Some 1/8" cut steel plate with 1/8 x 2 flat flat bar wrapped around and welded .

    What size belts for the variable drive

    What size deck belt is that

    • @snowking55
      @snowking55  6 лет назад

      Sorry I don't have the mower any more and it was 3 years ago that I did the resto. Either find the model number of the deck or mower itself and Google it, that will bring up some websites with schematics to identify your deck size and give you a number for the belt. Then Google the belt number and you'll find the correct size. Hope this helps.
