Sorry to hear that Paul - you do need to hit it right. I usually wait for light north-easterlies, but then again I'm nearly always targeting plaice and soles at Seaford. On shore winds are better for bass and the odd chance of codling, but fishing through storms are not really for me these days! Better luck next time.
Interesting that the short snood 2-up rig works so well. I have seen other videos with very long traces and beads for plaice and but I have also found that the top hook on my usual 1-up 1-down (no beads) rig out fishes the bottom hook. If the tide is pushing then the short snood will get the necessary movement just off the bottom to attract the plaice in my view.
Agree - and you see all of your bites as well, which is useful, since not all plaice 'hang themselves'! And if you think they want extra movement of the bait, you can always change to a smaller plain lead, or watch-type lead and let it drift - as long as there aren't too many snags where you're fishing.
Sorry bit late coming in on this one but still going through your library . The low to high distance on the shingle appears to be quite some distance to me, would you say some distance casting is especially required over the high to find the right ground , or do the plaice move over the shingle ? Great watch again thank you for sharing .
Hi Rod. Thanks for the videos been very interesting seeing your style of fishing and the adaptions made to improve rigs, made me think different. That aside could you tell me the make of your rod rest please. Cheers
Many thanks for that Angie - the rest used here is a Leeda Icon Extending Tripod. I also have the non extending extra wide 6ft version and mount the extending parts on to this when I'm using 16ft rods or need to raise rods high to combat currents / weed.
I agree - it appears strange! I don't follow the rule book, so won't be offering lessons - its the way I've always cast a rod! It just feels natural to me this way - I do the same coarse fishing and seem to get required distance and accuracy, so it suits me. Many thanks for watching and commenting - best wishes.
Very good session considering plaice and dover's caught together in daylight. am i right in thinking the water colour changed during your session allowing both species to feed in the same session?
Thanks for that. I'm not sure about the water colour change; but I don't as a rule night fish Seaford, so all of the soles I've caught have been in daylight on an ebbing tide - mostly half way down the tide as the light starts to fade. I should really try at night for them!
Bass when conditions are right and you're better off trying at night. Odd rays turn up along this stretch - one was caught during the day when I filmed for my first video at Edinburgh Rd.
Thanks Matt. These are Grauvell Teknos Due 4500 - I have several other Grauvell rods; however and unfortunately, I believe that the company has gone bust.
There's one near the end of my next video - at Eastney! Slightly different size to the ones your used to though! It's a target of mine for this year - to catch a decent sized turbot off the beach. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks for watching Bill. I admire your work and, for your comment, have added you as my first featured channel. Keep doing what you're doing, the way you do it- its great! If it was that straight forward, I would have started a channel called Easy Filming! Keep up the good work!
Interesting video again. Nice to see the Sole coming in.
Thanks again Tony!
Have fished Seaford last week in a storm and this week in an Easterly and not good. Well impressed with your success cheers Paul

@@rodsangleuk6283 Thanks for the reply much appreciated and will take your advice 😀
not bad session at all ! well done
Thanks for watching Michael. When conditions are right Seaford is great for flatfish.
Nice Sole, expect to see me raiding your spots come spring 2021. 👍
All the best Andrew - it's a pity we weren't able to fish for most of spring 2020.

I normally find that with plaice, the further out you can cast, the better your chances of catching.
Just subscribed keep them coming 👍🏻
Many thanks! Keep tuned in - plenty on the way, as long as the interest is there!

Great video... strange way to cast a fixed spool reel thou... 🤔 why do it with reel on top like that????? Never seen it before?

I am down at Seaford for a while Rod, the sea was very choppy today, what are my chances of a bass? was thinking a mackerel head close in.
Good chance - plenty of joey mackerel have been coming out - so bass should be about at night clise in. Best of luck Paul.
Can you catch Ray and bass from this mark

Great angling, what rods do you have? Tight lines. Matt

I like the fishing video chap thanks for sharing!!! Check my turbot videos out when you get a minute 😉
