You've really matured as a content provider, best video ever. Lost my Dad too 5 years ago, lost my shop too. My Dad made the best and most honest Automatic Transmission Shop around, you know they are notorious as the most dishonest because a driveway mechanic can't do an automatic trans. Once the state inspectors brought in a Ford, shifting too high. Easy fix, Vacuum modulator. Well nothing passes through a vacuum line unless the diaphragm in the vacuum modulator has failed, but in that case you are blowing a plume of blue smoke out the exhaust and the trans is out of fluid. You check the vacuum, it's OK? Then you replace the modulator , still no go? You have valve body problems. But on putting the vacuum line back on he felt something. He grabbed his pocket screwdriver and took the plug out that they had put in. He called them and told them their car was ready. He explained all that to them, told them to NEVER come back, and threw them out the door on their ass. I heard tell they bounced 3 times and ended up in the middle of the busiest road in town dodging cars. My Dad was 5' 8" and 135 lbs. He also hired and trained 50% of the kids that are now working at, or own their own Automatic Transmission Shops.
You guys should build a little efficiency apartment next to the shop just in case someone needs to stay there overnight rather than going all the way to the house or to John's house.
I just got to say thank you for traveling so far for work to make videos that I thoroughly enjoy and have learned so much from sorry you have to do such a long travel for my entertainment and knowledge but I appreciate it
Hi Isaac, last week it hit 80 up here in Mass, so we decided to take the bike for a ride. We have a '99 Shadow. First, when I went down to get the battery out of the cellar, I noticed a big puddle around the boiler and saw the vent was leaking. Second, what I went to put the new throttle grip on I noticed it was wet around the master cylinder weather brake lever pushes in on it. So I opened up the master cylinder, I noticed it was half full of duc guck. So what the turkey baster and a lot of paper towels and brake cleaner, I was able to clean all the crap out of a master cylinder add new fluid and bleed it all through. I blasted brake cleaner on the outside where the lever hits it. After we got back from a ride it was still clean and dry. And the boiler was a $20 party from Amazon delivered the next day! So a win, win! Thanks for these videos, it makes us realize we're all human!
Stay safe brother I've lost a couple of family members on two wheels. It was through no fault of them or the motorcycle but there's a lot of crazy drivers out there. I'll be waiting for part 2👍
Every time I mention I ride someone always pipes up about someone they know who was killed. Yeah that sad but so what? I don’t mention my best friend was killed in a car accident every time someone says they drive 🤷🏻♂️
Condolences, I lost my father in 2015. It doesn't get any easier but it does get better, if that makes any sense. Thanks for the video that's a great bike, I always wanted a Buell. Gonna get one I think if I can find one.. looks like a snappy little ride - 80mpg looks real nice too gas sure is on the rise again!
The Buell Blast was the 1st and only motorcycle I ever owned or rode. I was miffed about your exhaust since you appeared to have the stock muffler as I also had at first but mine sounded like a cute little lawnmower. I bought an aftermarket muffler real soon and later a jet kit to reduce decel popping. Mine had more miles on it back in 2000 when I bought it 2nd hand than yours though.
I like the motorcycle stuff. I have a 2012 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 fuel injected that actually gets 70 miles per gallon. I was amazed, it's a very good bike. I had to upgrade the seat though the seats are terrible on those things.
I like the buell's I've found a couple Buell lightning's in need of new owners for dirt cheap but haven't seen a Buell blast for a few years now. I plan to scoop a couple up next chance I get. Great video Thank you for sharing
On some of the battery chargers you can put a good battery in parallel with the bad one to get a the charge on the bad one. I have an older analog Schumacher battery charger. It needs to "see" something like 9 volts to start charging. I think I read it in the Schumacher manual.
Awesomeness sweet stuff. It does sound like it will need a starter relay. They get really nasty with a batter connected.. just replaced one of mine 😂 👊 stay awesome
good luck finding parts for it. i have two that i got for $50 and parts are extremely scarce. im not even sure a harley dealer will sell the parts for it without being shown the title.
Hey brother. Love your content. Love cars and cameras. Love this bike. Curious how being part of two RUclips channels works? No negative intentions. Just new to both channels trying to figure out how this all works.
Isaac, you sure know how to find some good deals, maybe you can share your secrets in a video one day. Great bike for a daily driver, I always wanted a Buell.
Three hours of freeway riding is a long trip! You might be more comfortable in a little Honda Civic... At least then you could listen to music and sip coffee on the commute.
Certainly an unusual drivetrain setup there using a belt instead of a chain, reminds me a lot of the belt-driven pulley on front-loading washing machines with that large pulley going to what I assume is a much smaller one, and I suppose if you get caught in the rain you could get your clothes washed at the same time... :P
Should make a bench cleaner for carburetor's too run diesel fuel thru too clean out the systems of carbs ? But it must be a recirculating system with filters that way you don't lose anything and it recirculates
What would really be interesting and different is if you were able to mount that bike engine in that Chevette of yours. That would be cool. Nice bike 🙂anyway.
I bought a basically new 125cc Sachs Madass for $1,000 last month. I love these little bikes lol funny enough my tire size is the same as the Buell Blast.
Glad to know as a young unexperienced mechanic that very recently started rebuilding a lot of carbs this size is to see Ike do it the same way with filling the bowl with the cleaner of choice and dropping all the needles in the bath while going through the rest of the carb.
Its not a Harley in any way, shape or form. All they did was buy out Erik Buell and close them down after a few years. It was built by and designed by Buell in Michigan, not Wisconsin
I remember those engines being good for about 20,000 miles...then they self detonated... requiring an engine replacement.... there's still parts available for the Blast...
Your little nighttime run made me think of something. I've been in the textile graphics industry for over 33 years now so my question is this, Have you considered doing the Mini Mayhem shirt's with a glow in the dark overcoat on the white print. seams to me that would make for some cool looking campsite video's. in the day it looks basically white but with the light's out it's a whole new story. Just a thought. ✌😎👍
My first bike was a Buell xb9r!!!! Probably not a good idea to get a 1000cc bike for a first!!!! Mine had the fuel and oil inside the frame!!!! Where u put the gas in yours is the air box for mine!!!!
That was cool GP at night!!!. Isaac, who is playin in the background music on this one? Pretty cool guitar. Dig that little 500. might be next on my list!!!
If $1,000 is considered a reasonable deal on a Buel Blast in good to great shape but not running/been in storage but no damage, no modifications with a clean original title I might be loading up betweem 5 and 10 of them that fit such a description, most with less than 7,500 miles, and hauling them to the East Coast? Where Im at they can be had in rough cosmetically, needs battery and carb cleaned, clean title, may be missing a couple minor parts but 3 hours to being ridden for $200 to $300 and a decent looking running riding right now will sell for $850 to $1,250. A parts use only but still 85% complete will go for $150 maximum and comes with a title. And Ive even seen them given away.. I was working at a decently large volume Harley Dealership when the Blast was introduced and while they never were our best selling bike (in fact they were probably our least popular selling bike,) they did show up at a period of time when motorcycles pretty much sold themselves, and our bike sales department worked harder at selling parts and accessories to customers who had bought a new or used (10 years old or newer ) to upgrade with and extended warranty contracts. All this means even the slowest selling bike we had still sold a bunch of them and 90% of them our sales department sold would be parked in a garage after a year or less and and will probably have under 2,500 miles on the Odometer. And I honestly dont think Ive seen one being ridden in the last 8 year. More than 6 of them I knew of ended up be used as Go Cart engines and one was bought by a friend of mine who raced Top Fuel Harleys and we built the blast into a dragbike for his 13 year old son to race in the JR Dragbike Association with some serious (for a Buell Blast) hotrodding. Half a Sportster Stage 4, Screaming Eagle cams, roller rockers, Buell Lightning head ported, forged 11:1 compression JE piston that matched the Lightning head combustion chamber, Lightning cylinder, Mikuni Screaming Eagle 42 mm flatslide carb, Stepped header pipe into a Vance and Hines ffler for a XB 1200 lightning, the SE ignition module with programmable advance curves, rev limiter, and Two Step ignition retarder for dragstrip launches on a custom made wheelie bar, an extended swingarm and chain drive conversion driving the PM Billet 3 spoke wheel with a 200 series drag radia. His son won the Western Division Championship on points and by taking 1st in the Conference Championship Finals. I actually had a lot of fun practicing against a portable dragstrip Christmas tree to get my RTs back to competitive numbers. There are probably a few hundred sitting in or behind garages since their 2nd year when the owner bought a Sportster and also learned that trade in value on them was $0.00 because we had so many used bikes in inventory because everyone wanted to buy a 2003 "100 Year Anniversary Commemorative Edition version of whatever model they liked and we were giving as little as $1,500 trade in on a clean, 12K miles 3 year old Heritage Classic. We actually stopped accepting trades for almost 9 months so Buels and especially Buel Blasts satt gathering dust.. I will literally start making some calls tomorow and deciding if I should sell them as is for a little less or make them run and ask for more.
i have an 04 black blast you will love it till the charging system fails. parts availability is horrendous. still one of my alltime favorite bikes to ride 83mpg@90mph and the handling is just wonderful. was also my only vehicle for the year that irma hit fl
I like the Buell, I almost baught one brand new back in 2003 but waited , and ended up in 2004 buying a brand new 2004 Moto Guzzi 750 Breva, everybody thought it was a Buell . Lol it actually kinda looked a little like one .good video Isaac 👍
also , i bought a 2001 hd uktra classic electra glide that was in a flood, trashed. But a little time, a lot of parts and obviously some green backs, i was able to get it running and riding. Lots of miles and memories later, it was all worth it! have fun brotha
A air compressor sounds like rough buel, LOL!!!lacquer thinner fuel cleaner. No filtration? It will be fine, I have no filtration myself LOL!!! Here we go power tour!!!!
Excellent video Issac :) also get bottle of STP Total Treatment fuel injection and carb cleaner in fuel tank fuel time also clean carb and whole fuel tank plus system even engine everything too plus carb too! Also be say holy moly that stuff great to and my cousin Nancey use it all vechiles plus 2010 Motorcycle and plus even after been put away for away from Winter season months and each tank full plus October when does last tank full when in storage! She said to me 2 crank over start up run smoothly too and use 89 with 5 % Ethonal or 91 or higher octane gas has no Ethonal too !
Ooh mate have youve tried a ultrasonic cleaner for carbs? I've seen people use it and some say like "OH BEES KNEES BRO" or some are like "ok it did clean it and it's fine" sorta thing i know you use carb cleaner like the caustic stuff that you really don't wanna touch the works quite good but like the ultrasonic bit is like a scrubber inside the whole thing and also removes like hard stuck on stuff too in the venturis n stuff because like water gets everywhere inside it.
I am so glad that all of the members at "Car's and Camera's" are supportive of all of your purchases and builds! The only problem as a Subscriber is that I never get responses to my comments...
Getting bike ready myself, I just got it end of last season 🙄Ohio ( Suzuki Intruder 1500lc) carb was mucked up, my son ran it outa fuel, sucked up watery crap, I try my best to keep non ethanol in it, Dr'd up the tank with Berrymans B-12 soaked & refreshed carb good to go 👍and installed a motohorn trumpet thing is loud they'll hear me now 😂☮️
I've heard motorcycles being regarded as a luxury item . I'm a poor boy . My motorcycle is for runs that don't require my truck . I guess maybe it is luxurious to get 45mpg vs my trucks 17 mpg ? Gotta have 2 vehicles in case one breaks in the boonies . This may be one of your best investments. Thanks for sharing your luxury item with us
Man i like the project but really dont like how that exhaust sounds.. maybe its the mic in the camera but it sounds like hell. But cool bike! I like the mpg. And I believe brake fluid is hydroscopic but u probably know that. Good job man!!
You've really matured as a content provider, best video ever. Lost my Dad too 5 years ago, lost my shop too. Prior to buell being discontinued, there was a huge aftermarket for these bikes. There was a bolt on big bore kit that woke these little bikes up.
I feel bad for you about your dad. I lost my dad last summer too. Thinking about you, buddy. Keep your head up.
hy what when did he loss his dad
If you left it not running it would get infinite MPG, but your shoe budget would have to go up.
Chevro-legs need tires too
Hi Isaac, last week it hit 80 up here in Mass, so we decided to take the bike for a ride. We have a '99 Shadow. Having to rely on a bike for commute transportation can get brutal in inclement weather. Been there. Done that. Have the T-Shirt.
I love the shirt Isaac. VW for life!!
Hell yeah! My first bike was a Buell Blast, it was small, cramped, and vibrated like crazy. Man that thing was so much fun to ride though!
Excellent video Ike. You might consider replacing the drive belt. Looks like a fun motorcycle. Road trip!
losing your dad is something you never get over it just hurts a little less with time issac is the talent of the show i hope we never lose him
🎉 that's pretty cool bro 🎉.... thanks for the video... JJ..Jonjon...
Glad to see you got it running looking forward to your next video.
So sorry to hear about your dad. Prayers for comfort and peace.
Great video perfect commuter bike can't wait to see the next video on the Buell. Very underrated bike ...
Stay safe brother I've lost a couple of family members on two wheels. It was through no fault of them or the motorcycle but there's a lot of crazy drivers out there. I'll be waiting for part 2👍
The guy has been on two wheels since the 80s I think he knows the dangers
@@hemidart7 I never said he didn't
Every time I mention I ride someone always pipes up about someone they know who was killed. Yeah that sad but so what? I don’t mention my best friend was killed in a car accident every time someone says they drive 🤷🏻♂️

Brake fluid is hygroscopic, so it pulls moisture from the air when exposed to it.
Good thing you bought it when you did.
Proud of you for fixing the Brakes before riding!!!
Big Smile on my end.

Neat, I like the sound of a single cylinder "Thumper"
I like the motorcycle stuff. I have a 2012 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 fuel injected that actually gets 70 miles per gallon. I was amazed, it's a very good bike. I had to upgrade the seat though the seats are terrible on those things.
Had a blast before
The way the exhaust is routed is pretty cool
I can't wait for your next garage sale!
I love the tree growing out of the engine bay of the Red Stang. It must have ran and drove when parked......
Thanks Ike!!🙏. Be safe drive careless 👊✌️💚🤙
Love your videos, Isaac
I like the buell's
I've found a couple Buell lightning's in need of new owners for dirt cheap but haven't seen a Buell blast for a few years now.

Buell - Harley has an interesting history. Cool bike! Thanks for the videos! 👍👍
Great bikes. Blast is the baby .weld the exhaust mod back up .😮
Really like the old bike restore/resurrection videos. If you add some solar lights around the course you could make more wild nighttime ride videos.
Sorry for your loss ike....and your brother too
For anyone considering doing a road trip around the uk ... I'd give it a miss for now... $6.82 per US gallon where I am!!!! x
What a super cool Harley. Always wandered about those bikes. Cool beans. Keep up the great work
Awesomeness sweet stuff. It does sound like it will need a starter relay. They get really nasty with a batter connected.. just replaced one of mine 😂 👊 stay awesome

Condolences on your Dad, I know that's tough
Isaac, you sure know how to find some good deals, maybe you can share your secrets in a video one day. Great bike for a daily driver, I always wanted a Buell.
Man Ike, you live 3 hours away from the C&C location? Props to you for hanging out there as often as you do to shoot videos!
Lost my dad too.. rip Mr. It'll be fine...😢
Cool bike you got there. I'm throwing a fzr600 engine in a go-kart, I wish I had the whole bike but I can't complain I got it for 10$.
Scores!👍
That is a nice looking bike Ike. Think that was a pretty good buy.
Gonna be a great show I already know!
Nice-looking bike great deal
Three hours of freeway riding is a long trip! You might be more comfortable in a little Honda Civic... At least then you could listen to music and sip coffee on the commute.
Your a good Man Ike , love is immortal and it can last beyond what we perceive as space n time, you are never alone with it
I've been soaked by rain, beaten by hail, blinded by bugs, caught in snow and ice storms, and all those on top of drivers that can't see bikes.
Belt drive setups are actually quite common.
Yeah belt drive motorcycles have been around for a while now I know at least 30 years
Should make a bench cleaner for carburetor's too run diesel fuel thru too clean out the systems of carbs ? But it must be a recirculating system with filters that way you don't lose anything and it recirculates
What would really be interesting and different is if you were able to mount that bike engine in that Chevette of yours. That would be cool. Nice bike 🙂anyway.
I got a ticket for 97 MPH in my Chevy Chevette.. I had hooker header on it a Tubo muffler.. drilled out carb jets and advanced ignition timing..
My goodness I didmt realize how far you had to drive to get to the shop. I would have to move closer.
My ears nearly blew off when the compressor started😂😂😂😂
I bought a basically new 125cc Sachs Madass for $1,000 last month. I love these little bikes lol funny enough my tire size is the same as the Buell Blast.
Sounds like a really big lawnmower! Specs are close enough to my duke 390. I like lightweight bikes
Glad to know as a young unexperienced mechanic that very recently started rebuilding a lot of carbs this size is to see Ike do it the same way with filling the bowl with the cleaner of choice and dropping all the needles in the bath while going through the rest of the carb.

His voice and accent sounds like Huell Houser, who used to be the star of ‘California’s Gold’ and other shows on PBS!
My first bike was a Buell xb9r!!!! Probably not a good idea to get a 1000cc bike for a first!!!! Mine had the fuel and oil inside the frame!!!! Where u put the gas in yours is the air box for mine!!!!
Great find. Good video. Take care. God bless
Well if John wouldn't have bought property 3hrs away work would be closer lol. Nice cruiser for a grand!
Hale yeah Ike!!! Keep up the great work.
😎👍😎
What about the Honda chopper with the CV clutch..
Or the triumph..
Well..this one's got turn signals ..
That was cool GP at night!!!. Isaac, who is playin in the background music on this one? Pretty cool guitar. Dig that little 500. might be next on my list!!!
Just need to do a chain conversion and or a fat rear tire conversion wilhile your at it. A better exhaust and turn signals would be sweet too
Nice bike. Good luck with it. Can't wait to see the mower builds on cac.
A dozen trips or so and it will pay for itself! Nice! 👍
It's SPRING of course the gas i going up, IT ALWAYS DOES. JUST WAIT TILL SUMMER ? NICE FIND, SIR.

I remember buying the blasts! Mines been gone a minute.
You already have five or six other motorcycles. Have you always had ADD or was yours adult-onset?
i have an 04 black blast you will love it till the charging system fails. parts availability is horrendous. still one of my alltime favorite bikes to ride 83mpg@90mph and the handling is just wonderful. was also my only vehicle for the year that irma hit fl

Any bike is a fun bike! That thing is a blast 😁 pun intended
Cool bike haven't seen one of those in a minute

I do my best to answer comments
Nice tree growing in between the frame rails of that Mustang that thing get's better mileage then that bike LOL!!
Isaac, have you ever tried shocking the battery with a welder and then charging it?
What is the status of your Opal GT? I see it’s finally on the rack.
I had a 70, 4 speed. Wish i had not gotten rid of it!
Working on it
That bike is Buell-tif-ful!
Buell is made by Harley Davidson. You got an awesome find for $1000 congratulations
Thanks for sharing your luxury item with us
hell yeah finally someone i watch has a blast too they are fun especially with a dans air intake and a better exhaust
don't forget your pulling a trailer with a bike on it....😁
Man i like the project but really dont like how that exhaust sounds.. maybe its the mic in the camera but it sounds like hell. But cool bike! I like the mpg. And I believe brake fluid is hydroscopic but u probably know that. Good job man!!
Exaust sounds bad lol
That Buell sounds bad assed ike!
Only problem with motorcycles are when you see cool projects on the side of the road you can’t nab them
Never mind Ethanol, some of us are old enough to remember when gad had lead in it.
(Edit) And when brakes contained asbestos.
Brakes often times still do contain asbestos... So do clutches. It's good to remember that when dealing with them.
