    Should be 30 to 35k, then maybe this thing would be worth it. I like base vehicles but they're wanting way to much...

    I like hand crank windows feels like a classic vehicle

  • @BitsndBobs

    The new Nighthawk edition is the deal. Upgraded gearing and axles, limited slip, 20 inch aluminum wheels and tires, power windows and locks, body colored trim, black badging, trailer tow upgrade, body colored hard top, tow hooks and a couple of other options.
    Sticker was about 48 k and I can walk out the door under 38k with rebates and stuff. Get them while you can as Jeep only badged 2000 of the Nighthawk model. I have to think this is a great way to get into a decently equipped Gladiator and a very respectable price right now.

    Thanks for the review. Been considering a sport gladiator. Love the manual windows and locks. Like my older jeeps! Keep up the good work!

    I like crank windows but I wish they made power locks with crank windows. Instead of manual everything.

  • @handyman2183
    @handyman2183 5 месяцев назад +2

    I like it and crank windows would not dissuade me. If money is tight and you need to prioritize I would rather spend the money elsewhere and roll up my own windows. When I was young and poor I bought a wrangler with no radio nor air conditioning. Was inconvenient but somehow I survived. Part of the reason vehicles are so expensive now is everyone “needs” luxuries that weee once considered extravagant (not that electric windows are an extravagance).

    I love my '21- wanted a Wrangler for a long time, but still need to be able to pick up a sheet of drywall or plywood or lumber from time to time. That's where this thing shines. Spend most of the summer with the doors and/or roof off. That being said, $45k is steep even with the updated screen.

    Have the same manual windows and door locks on my Wrangler. Miss the power locks the most especially if it’s raining. Got my two door 2022 with 3.6 engine, automatic transmission and hardtop for under $40k. 17000 miles and still going strong. Nice review. Thanks.

    You can actually order this base trim with leather seats, which improves the look and cleanability. And I love the hand cranks, especially on doors that I can take off(lighter maybe?). Agree completely on this being an overlanding vehicle, maybe also to pull an off road travel trailer.

    I found a dealership with few 2024 sport trim for $29k. That might the deal I’ll pull the trigger on, except I don’t think we’ve hit the bottom yet. Maybe I’m getting greedy but I’d like to see a sport s get to that price. Will it happen?

    Crank windows are nice if you park your vehicle outside with the windows open and it starts to rain, you don't need the key fob to close them.

  • @EastonHB27
    @EastonHB27 5 месяцев назад +1

    I’ve always thought a 40k dollar Jeep with crank windows is the stupidest thing ever. It’s so obviously a gimmick like they’re trying to appear “tough” by having crank windows. It’s a fine trim, but it’s just $10k too much

  • @AldenMartinale1990
    @AldenMartinale1990 Месяц назад

    Local dealer by me is selling a sport for 37… that’s not ideal but acceptable imo. I don’t really care about the roll up windows and manual locks tbh.

    I've got a 22 mojave and the power is just adequate. Off road torque is good. It rides like a dog compared to similar style trucks on the road where most do the bulk of driving. the biggest benefit is being able to take the doors and roof off in warmer weather. Unfortunately due to most locations I drive I don't want to leave in unattended with the doors off. Great in specific conditions but overall for the price if I had to do it over again I'd choose something else.

    That's appallingly low payload for a truck with no options. What will it be on a Rubicon? 600 pounds?

    • @bcyrx
      @bcyrx 5 месяцев назад

      Santa Cruz and Maverick have higher payload ratings

    • @is6566
      @is6566 Месяц назад

      Honda Civic has 850 pounds of payload. Only 200 pounds less than this “truck” which has almost literally ZERO options to deduct from the payload. It’s downright laughable.

  • @John-yf4ie
    @John-yf4ie 5 месяцев назад

    Actually I would rather have hand crank windows! I purchased a new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon and ask if I could get the dealership to replace all the window with Hand Cranks.??

  • @amexna
    @amexna 5 месяцев назад

    I like these things way more than I should as a local all purpose city/country driver. Would be great for yard sale shopping, lol. Just still too pricey for what you get. Sort of ridiculous. I would rather get a used Trail Boss and enjoy pretty much the same gas mileage. And there is no excuse for hand cranked windows at $45k. Come on, Jeep.

    Our Gobi Willys sport cost right at 40k. Still too much but at least it had the Willys package. 70k for a rubicon, so ridiculous how jeeps are out of the stratosphere! And why did they never put a V8 in the gladiator? Stupid.

  • @herrporschex
    @herrporschex 2 месяца назад

    no more than 35k without the hand crank bs and manual windows. The car cost little over a honda civic to produce. The basic jeep parts have been around forever and being used in multiple models.

  • @4ME2DRV
    @4ME2DRV 5 месяцев назад +2

    They purposely don't care what the customers like or want anymore. They going to make what they want, and we have no choice. Everyone needs a car. So we are forced to pay high prices for stuff we don't want. Jeep is a joke with hand crank windows at that price point.

    2K for the auto, 2k for the delivery... Jeep is working themselves to extinction. The brand was supposed to be accessible and for utilitarian sporty outdoorsy folks. At these price points, the brand is for wealthy folks only.
