I must admit when I visited NYC 20 years ago I was really surprised to see the water level of the Harbour so close to the level of the city and no wall or barrier. This is a shock compared with cities like London, where riverside embankments were added many years ago to cope with peak, flood tides.

What a joke, this will create more problems than it solves and will need more billions as they go...

Addressing problems that have ALWAYS existed.
Makes me want to puke every time hear "climate change".
Its always changed. Expecting it to remain the same would be the weird thing.
"Expected ocean rise levels" by 2100 or whatever - thing is it still hasn't.

Moving inland is better long-term. I think the capital complex at Albany NY is intended to ba an administrative center following the submerged coast.

Well, rich people can protect their beachfront properties from rising sea levels, they are aalready building tiny sea walls to stop the ocean. Everyone else is fucked and will have to move inward, allowing more beachfront to be bought by the rich who want it because it becomes more exclusive. With capital it is not hard to stop the sea, the Netherlands have been doing it for centuries
