Kevin Hoppo We didn't expect the buildings to be as nice as they were. We were also blown away by how clean and well maintained they are...might have been for the FIFA World Cup though..
April and Tim Travel | Maintenance used to be only for big events between 1989 and 2006. That's the period Russia was in a terrible condition. Things really started picking up in 2004, and in 2006 the cities started looking like modern european metropoli again. Smaller cities still don't get the much needed attention as you might've noticed when you were in Irkutsk, but they will slowly be taken care of as the economy gets better.
5:50 This line is to visit Lenin Mausoleum! 100 years passed he's still popular especially foreing tourists! Open 10 to 13 - just 3 hours in a day excet Mondays and Fridays - that's why people start queing up early in the morning! The tourists entrance to the Kremlin is on the other side, and you will need a ticket, too
In SB we stayed at Central Street Hostel - we would recommend this hostel, its ina great location and has good facilities. In Moscow we stayed at Hostel Olimpiya - it was ok here, probably could find better 😊 Have fun!
@@andy89880 We did. We used Yota, they have a data sim option that is for the whole country. We also used Beeline, but they have data roaming within Russia, so if you're going to multiple regions I wouldn't recommend this. Also, we had to keep going back to the phone store because Yota would occasionally not work. There's free wifi around too, you just need a sim you can recieve sms on to get the access code to use it. We haven't had the best luck with sim cards tho!
If you will be in big cities it doesn't matter. If you plan on travelling to small cities far from large ones, it's better to use Megafon because they have the largest coverage area
Actually you can buy birch juice drinks in any time of year. Of course it will not be fresh one from the tree but with added water and sugar. Still it will give the opportunity to taste it. It also sells in many European countries and even US by companies dealing in organic food.
@@AprilandTimTravel oh yes!! birch juice is colorless and transparent like a pure water and have barely sweet taste. nothing special about your feelings when you first try it, but it's very healthy and as authentic russian drink as well known kvass))
Avec Bonheur We used to be vegan in Australia but we've found it a bit too hard while travelling, especially when the ingredients are in a foreign language! So we try to cook as much as possible for ourselves and make vegan dishes.
April and Tim Travel thank you! I have been vegan for a long time but when I think about going to Russia 🇷🇺 soon I don’t know how I am gonna be able to stay away from all this amazing food, at least to me it is and soo nostalgic bc I grew up in Russia. It’s much easier for me here in the US to be vegan. When I am in Russia, I want to eat everything 😂😂. What is your honest impression of your visit to this unique country??
@@AprilandTimTravel Russian is complicated enough to learn by foreigners, but the hardest step is the first one to begin with. You already know how to say the sunny weather in Russian))) greetings from Moscow guys! Good luck!
Our Russia trip has been canceled 3 times (we are just going to wait it out now) but I love your Russia videos, so helpful. I’m excited to go eventually! I just started my own channel and you’re such an inspiration to me, so thanks for doing what you do 😀😀😀
Oh no, cancelled 3 times?? That’s so disappointing! Hopefully you can still get there and see all you wish to see before too long. Glad you find the videos helpful 😀 It’s nice to know we can help other travellers, just like we have been helped by other travellers 👍
The buildings looks so beautiful they really took pride in what they built.

Nope. Moscow is pretty clean city last years.

and how do you know that Mr.Macedonian?
Ingvar Z | Because it's true. The '90s were the years when Russia was rotting from the inside.
Glad you liked it in Moscow. Enjoy your trip!
Thanks :) Is Moscow your home town? Its such an interesting city.
Yes this is my city.
Спасибо. Вы очень красивая пара. Удачи.
Thank you 😊
Definitely Moscow and Petersburg the most beautiful cities on earth, but not only, foos and eomen are amazing!
The line was to the Lenin's tomb, not to the entrance. The Kremlin's entrance is at it's N-W side.
It's called a mausoleum.
The mausoleum has beeb closed for a long time, so I'm pretty sure the line lead somewhere else, not to Lenins tomb))
Another smashing video guys! Спасибо!
Nice video, good job!
Thank you :) Glad you enjoyed it
3:30 Высотка на Котельнической набережной. Kotelnicheskaya enbankment sky-scripper. (Google: seven sisters, moscow).
Yes that’s it! It would have been much easier for us to pronounce 😂
I had to go to VDNH is also a miracle

Uzbekistan fruits are amazing
Agreed! We're missing them.
Uzbekistan is an amazing place itself. Would love to visit one day, and experience the madrasas and fruits all in one shot.

Wow! I am going to Russian in March 2019. Can I ask which hostel you stayed at in in MC and SPB?

Birch trees are one of the symbols of Russia. You should have tried birch juice while you were there :)
Paul V. Birch juice?! Sounds interesting 😀 We did see pinecone honey.
April and Tim Travel that is one of genuine traditional Russian drinks like kvas etc. 😊
I think Paul is a little bit joking about birch juice (birch sap) because it's available only in spring)

I think April is beautiful too.
I am Russian and live in Moscow. You sound like silly polish.
