Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheeran is one of the singles from his third album "Divide". I recorded this cover using my Boss RC30 Loop Station. I will post a tutorial as soon as I get the chance to make one.

Big question: i have bought the rc 500 inspired by this video. However when I want to activate track 1 (the melody and bass) it starts on the wrong part.. cause of the structure of the song?
Yes! It is because there's a 2 bar break before the chorus, so your bass will start on bar 3. That's why I stop both tracks before launching into the chorus. It resets everything back to the beginning.
On the RC-500, I recommend getting the FS-5U and connecting it to the external footswitch input. You can assign it to start/stop both tracks together

Yes, same chords. Just the Pre-chorus and middle section that are different
Hi Lee, Hope your well. I have a couple of questions if you don`t mind me asking. 1. what settings do you use on your Boss OC 3 for Castle on the hill. Second question when recording on your audio interface how do you stop background noise like dogs barking , doors closing my guitar pickups seem to find every noise. Good luck for the future. +Robert Bevan Hi Robert, sorry I haven't answered this earlier. I was going to wait until I made a new Q&A video but it's been long enough without answering you. Pretty much, my microphone does pick all of that stuff up. Sometimes I have to record a new take entirely if it's really bad. The reason I sweat so much in my videos is because I close all the windows and doors whilst recording (I live in Spain so that gets uncomfortable). My guitar's pickup doesn't tend to pick these annoying things up so I often simply drown them out with the guitar. Occasionally, I will cut out the microphone track each time I'm not singing which also helps.
With regards to your first question, I turn the selector switch (on the right) to "Polyphonic", the direct level to the 0 or off position and the other 2 controls to around 3/4 or 3 o'clock.

Do you have a pickup in the back of the guitar as well?
+JozeN I have a magnetic soundhole pickup and a piezo in the bridge, that is all. The soundhole pickup is an LR Baggs M1 Active, it does a great job of picking up the natural tone of the guitar's body.

I really want to start looping but don't know what microphone to use. Do u have to have two or is that optional? Thanks
It's not essential but if you use the same mic for the loops and your lead vocal, you will lose a lot of clarity in the lead vocal and the overall sound can become muddy. Also, your loop mic has to be equalised the same as your guitar which is somewhat limiting. For the sake of making your vocals sound good, I would use separate mics :)

+Leonardo Ceratti Hahaha! My girlfriend keeps telling me I shouldn't wear Macbeth in all my videos. It's a clothing brand (mainly shoes) which was started by Tom DeLonge, the ex guitar/vocalist from Blink 182. I don't think he owns the company any more though.
If you were to take formal vocal training you would be able to have an absolutely incredible voice. Most guys don't have anywhere near that range so there's a ton of potential here.

i don't know if your voice is so thin because its just the way your voice is.. or it is because you're not singing with your diaphragm.. i'd say good joob on the looping! i recommend you buy the rc 300! way better looper.. maybe you gotta work on how to get your voice really out still but.. you're on the right track mate! i still have to work on my voice too! lately i've been trying to learn how to sing with the mixed register! its slowly working out! way to go mate
