Tony Leong, you are 100% correct; it's regrettable that the author of this video clip has treated his narrative academically with more political correctness than reality ! The biggest problem for Malaysian progress is constitutionally entrenched racial discrimination, nothing is a bigger problem that official discrimination. Mahatir calls it "affirmative action as if it sounds better but it does not). This is the factor that induce the most successful Chinese businesses to migrate to Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia; those that remain are medium and small Chinese businesses. This means not just mere money that leaves Malaysia but big businesses like eg. Robert Kuok & Brother, Hong Bee and many more.

Given the scenario, maybe Sarawak State will offer the best option. Remember Sarawak is nearly as large as Peninsular Malaysia, will her new leadership and policy, the scenario will change quickly!

Same as large but not the power. Hope sarawak don't go radical as radical as the peninsular. Of course there was a lot of native Dayak has been converted forcefully due to inter marriage.,but quantity doesn't matter at all. Sarawak still having a lot of potential non muslim back up. We are not for the religion base politic but for the prosperous non religion base politic.

An informative video. All things being said, for change to happen, Malaysia would need a leader with balls, not just balls but balls of steel. Our current PMX can only do so much but to be fair, he's got a lot on his plate to deal with and he just got started. Now either he wants to stand out or to just blend in. He must take note of the lesson of Mahathir when he took office the second time. Nearly everyone welcomed him as a hero and even would have forgotten the misdeeds he could have done in the past as it could have been as " it was different at that time or it was needed at that time," Then Mahathir started to play politics instead of governing. Mahathir was once a leader that Malaysia needed at that time but now he's only a pale version of himself (not referring to his health) Now after 'losing the crown to rule Malaysia', he is now bringing up irrelevant things like " the chinese still using chopsticks to eat, multiculturism and signboards language usage". Now this is a lesson for Anwar to note. He fought hard to get where he is today. Be the leader of Malaysia for all Malaysians. The theme should be " All must prosper"

Today's news, one state has a coalition of 8 political parties, 8 leaders? Ignoring that all, want to be paid as leaders how do you get a decision?
The biggest problem in Malaysia, is the inability to make objective decision, decisions are made for social/religious reasons.

Education should be geared to critical thinking and to global needs. Most importantly, politicians should work for the people and not for themselves

The main issue the country is regressing economically is because the engine that runs the government for 50 years plus is inefficient. The practice of double standards also contribute largely to the brain drain. The country is heading downwards. Sad.

You are talking in your bubble without taking into account the dynamics of the social and economic fabric of Malaysia. 2. Thanks for your solutions to the problem you identify - again, your solutions are perhaps doable in your bubble. 3. Whatever you identify - go to the source - what causes political stability? what causes economic overdependence, environmental degradation, brain drain and social inequality...You are obviously not well read nor are you a deep thinker and you are definitely not a MALAYSIAN - what gives you the right to comment of MALAYSIA - Professor ?
