One of the best British female vocalists of the 1980's in my opinion.Who else agrees?
Probably the best
Yes agree, miles better than amy Winehouse
Along with Kate Bush, Annie Lennox, Kim Wilde
Me!🙋🏾
Totally agreed!! She has a heavenly voice
I miss the 80s SOOO MUCH 😥👍🙏❤️❤️
This song will never get boring. Stands the test of time!
I could stay and listen to this Song over and over again for hours, everyday...
The voice of Alison Is simply marvellous ... It's like Paradise.
Bravissima ❤ 👏👏👏
@alfredoscimone4744
Absolutely the same here.
Listening in 2024 and it's still a fantastic timeless song. Thank you Alison ❤

Gianmarco Fella No contest there. Real talent here.
From the first time on, I have heard her with age 4, I knew, how perfect singing sounds like .. and how heaven sounds
She's got an powerful voice, that put today's singers to shame
Definitely
None of today's singers are in her league, not remotely anywhere near it!
You've not heard of Floor Jansen, then?
You're right
Totally agree. Who even compares. Not even Adele.
This takes me back to my 20s - I'm 61 now - what a fantastic time the 80s were!
🙏⚘💜⚘🙏
Great voice
Not half mate. Sixties was crap compared to 80s. Alison /Annie the biz. All my play list is mostly 80s.
Moyet, Peter Gabriel, The The and Kate Bush defined 80s pop to me back then.
KDP, I'm right there with you 🙂 this came up by chance. I was obsessed with Where Hides Sleep. The 80's had some amazing talent ✨
This song came on in my local co op and it stuck in my head, great song, who still here listening?
I first heard that song in my local coop too and it has been playing in my mind since also! 😊

Forgotten. Really?
Still listening in 2021, soon to be 2022. Definitely not forgotten.

Yo!
Just now! Lol
Casi 40 años después la sigo escuchando
First time hearing this song, very cool. I just heard it on BBC 2 .
Great voice!
The British saved the music industry in the 80's with an audio reboot and a boatload of creativity and style. Sometimes unappreciated but not forgotten.
Underappreciated, yes. My husband and I are both American-born and bred, but due to his decades-long interest in punk he got exposed to a lot more British post-punk and 2 Tone ska because of overlapping genres in the fan base. I only heard the New Wave and ska songs that charted, unless I bought the album. And I wasn't old enough to get into clubs until '89 anyway. I had no idea XTC has such a large catalog, or that Madness put out so many videos and were so much more successful in the UK. I love the former for their diverse styles and themes, and the latter for being such nutty fun.
Well, for the first half of the 80s but by the second half people saw what Stock Aitken and Waterman were doing, churning out hits on a production line and that's when it started going downhill again. Early 90s and Rave kept things fresh but once the boy band and girl band thing took over it was back to made up puppet groups.

Tot timpul britanicii au fost cei mai buni si inainte de anii 80..si cred ca vor fi in continuare..
A distinctive powerful voice, Alison is a really brilliant singer.
Absolutely amazing, re visiting my youth, oh the good times
Totally agree with you.
🙏⚘💜⚘🙏
Bellisima voce❤❤😊😊
Alison Moyet has always been a gorgeous woman with an amazing voice
Yet at the time most blokes used to just talk about her being "fat" as if that made any difference to her talent.
She’s deffo gorgeous ❤️
I'll second that...
She is beautiful because of the voice.
Alison voice pure class 👌
Quality of the best of voice of 80s but the music bizz ripped her off
The UK produced some amazing music in the 80's
126er having been there was this done in the Negev desert
126er didn’t it? Now it’s mostly shite! Lol.
Mick Jamieson have absolutely no idea. I’ve got sand dunes near me that looks the same In Australia....could be anywhere. Middle East somewhere I should imagine.
Great year to be living in the music of the UK1984! Happy (as a Yank) to have been there! Thanks for the greatest music in a lifetime! (And movies too)
The UK produced the best music in every decade it's strange how a small island in the middle of no where has produced so much great music
The 80's were too amazing musically.
I know better song choices
I AGREE TOTALLY.
True that is a measure of her greatness of anything.
The best💖
Far better than Adele, but not nearly as lauded for her talent as she should be! Love Alison's voice and was fortunate to have seen her in concert. Absolutely BRILLIANT! 👏👏👏👏👏👏🤗❤
"Speech" ... Jacqueline...I remember early Adele n see Alison' stage persona all over her set..😊

Best decade for music. Ever.
It was the best. I miss the 80's.
very awesome, i grew up in the 80's and my dad worked for mute records in London that Alison was signed to along with erasure and many others :)
An absolute classic. Today’s female singers can only dream about being as good as her. And she writes her own music.
When music got your heart beating ....
No sign of auto tune😂🤣.pure talent like most 80s vocalists👍
Vocals pure, the band not so much
Very good point. In fact, that is why so many of the 80's artists sounded flat rather than sharp - and it was brilliant!
And the majority of singers today as well.
Yeah, especially since IT DIDN'T EVEN EXIST YET WHAT'S YOUR POINT
@@VideoMeltdown The technology was there, and various other electronic and recording tricks had been around since at least the 50's.

Brilliance Never Dies!!!
Priceless song
Alison Moyets voice is one of the natural wonders of the world, brings back a lot of the 80s for me. Such a powerful, honest and heart rendering quality. IMO no other voice could’ve done her beautiful epic song the same justice. A woman of her talents for singing and songwriting should have scaled greater heights. It’s a pity she was crippled with social anxieties, weight problems and body image issues. I was surprised that she recently graduated with 1st class degree in Fine Art Printing from Brighton University, in England, not far from me. Thats a significant plus for a 60+ yr old with Dyslexia and ADHD issues🙏🏽
Wow didn't know she had done so well Many thanks for the news
Jenny ,Guernsey ❤❤
I'm 32, i was brought up on 80s songs, and I still absolutely love this over most of the rubbish that's produced today :)
that's because you have good taste Elliot....
51 year old Aussie living in London - listened to this as a kid in Melbourne over and over again.
“.. over and over again” - same here.
This tune best reflects the spirit of the 80s.
The best thing she ever did by some distance and one of the best songs of th 80s
This song is a killer track. One of the best from the 80's.
This lady can sing....!!!
She certainly can,and then some.
probably the most likable female singer we have in UK, no one dislikes her songs and her personality, shes a real treasure.
I;m amazed no one has commented so far on the obvious double entendres in the song "Love Ressurection" actually means "LoversErection" hence the line before it about "needing a warm injection:" it actually makes the song better knowing that that is what she is really singing about
Beautiful voice in a beautiful decade with a beautiful message
THE BEST.
Best female vocalist of the 80s. ❤️❤️
EVER.
What a voice growing up in the 80's amazing time!!!💙
Her voice is almost like the archetypical and memorable voice of the 80's. Beautiful lady. And this song is SO good and uplifting.
What a pity that she, Annie Lennox, Simon Le Bon, Paul 🤴🏻 (the one from "Love and Pride", whose singing like Cher), guy from Silent Circle and Marian Gold they never sang togheter! 😒🙄 That would be a great sextet... 😁
Fantastic 80s She can certainly sing unbelievable voice 👌
That voice!!
great voice
great song, great singer, great voice
She was a great singer
Aldele isnt has good has Alison Moyet or Amy Winehouse infact I don't like Adele at all

You know, one of the best things about being in my 50's now, is that I lived my teenage years in the 80's........Priceless, and I wouldn't change them for the world!

Adele or Alison my vote is for Alison all day long.
Alison shits over Adele any day.
Not even close. Alison by millions of miles
I think one reason Adele sold more because she's more suited to pop; Adele, Amy Winehouse and others started this certain 'soulful' way of singing and pop fans jumped all over it (mainly because it wasn't all that soulful, it was watered down for kids' ears). These type of singers are now all over talent shows and the industry. But although there was pop in 1980's it feels the industry was still open to truly great talent then. I've never heard anyone else sing like Alison ever.
👍👍
Adele's success, not withstanding her talent, has been a triumph of marketing.
Song that cant get boring, always feels so fresh
I was born in 1965 & glad of it. I believe I lived through the golden decades of music - the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. I lost touch in the 1990s and bailed out in 2000. Music today is utterly repellent. I'm happy to be trapped in my musical time warp until I croak it.
I am sick to almost death of people comparing Alison to Adele. Moyet is on a level way way out of Adele's wildest imagination. In 10 years people will be saying "Adele?". What's her last name.... And here we are still listening to Alison after 34 years.
Ah but YOU are comparing them. Pot? Kettle?
i agree cant get close to alison. she is one of the greatest and always will be
adel who ,, allison will live on and on just listen people to what we danced to and hugged our loved ones on the dance floor 30 yeaars ago shall i go on ,, theres loads of great music just ask and you will be inspired cheers
dam right and she is more beautiful
Your generational bias is just sad. There's no point arguing with a zealot over what constitutes talent but the idea Adele will be forgotten in a decade is plainly ludicrous.
Fantastic 80s synth beat but with a REAL singing voice. Double whammy, super song!
Brings sadness and happiness for me of times with my late wife.
She has a unique voice!

Apparently while making this video Alison was propositioned for marriage numerous times. Her striking beauty and voluptuous figure was a God send for these men, oh and she wasn't wearing enough jewellery so they new she was single. Alison is no one's trophy she belongs to the world, her voice is mesmerising.
I wonder if they propositioned her directly, or if they just asked the closest men to her at the time
what a voice
