    Great to hear that it makes that kind of difference. I've got a '68 Continental 462 Coupe in the UK and absolutely love it, but the carb definitely needs work. Struggles on hills, sputters a lot under heavy throttle, stalls off the line sometimes. I'm suspecting the fuel floats need adjusting, but this would just make a world of difference to it. I never plan on selling it, so in the long run its gotta be worth it. Great work gents

    If the car was equipped with a PCV spacer plate you won't have issue with the throttle lever, you may also be lucky and the sending unit has a built in return line!!

    Great looking Lincoln. I do not like the wheels because they take the attention away from the car itself. I always left the hubcaps on mine. I bought a set of white spokes 15X8 with P275-60-15 Radial T/A & hubcaps. I have a 67 convertible with a mild built 462 & the Sniper Kit & a good stainless exhaust. The Sniper ran great with more power, smooth idle & increased mpg (Vehicle Had A Ford AOD) 28 MPG @ 75MPH & 550hp & 545ci MEL

      Hey David! We have the manifold sent out to be re-welded and have pulled the whole front end off it so we can fix the valve issues. We also are rewiring the vehicle currently. This is a slow process but we are documenting it best we can for its return to RUclips! We will be getting it tagged and street legal next and then doing road trips with it. Thank you so much for your continued support!

    Looks beautiful, smooth, roomy, great for trips. Think EFI be great for it. Saw someone else doing a will it start on a 67 white hardtop. In worse condition but they are the lux cars of yesteryear.

    Fascinated how you created the fuel sending unit / return modification - seems you simply modified what was already there? That would be a neat skill to save money in custom units and tanks.

    Good Morning Great Video I am a few steps closer to getting my snipper 2 installed on my 1966 Lincoln continental by a licensed technician I found on Holley's website The technician stated there is no distributor for a 462 engine compatible with the snipper system is this true ? if so looking for a solution or a distributor to work with this system please advise
    Thanks

    • @MaffettMotorwerks
      @MaffettMotorwerks  4 месяца назад +1

      We needed fuel only and utilizes the stock distributor as a tach signal. We can’t speak on if there is a modern distributor to work but a quick call to Holley would make that answer very fast for you. Their tech department is amazing.

    What did you hook the pink wire to for power in start position as the ignition wire does not have power In start position? We bought same kit and system will not remember parameters .

    • @MaffettMotorwerks
      @MaffettMotorwerks  3 года назад

      We went to the "I" terminal at the starter solenoid. This has power under crank and ignition switch on.

    Did you have any issues with sticking gas pedal? Like taking off slow and you have to give more pressure and then pedal unsticks and it jumps too fast. Seems pedal sticks more when running engine then when engine is off . I lubed all moving parts as well. Any thoughts?

    • @MaffettMotorwerks
      @MaffettMotorwerks  2 года назад

      We have not had any issues with that but I would check the linkage at the throttle body and check it’s path make sure you have a strong enough return spring and that nothing else is binding holding the cable.

    Hey nice car nice job I am going to do a 66 lincoln for a customer how long should this take so I can give Him ball park labor on this , Thank You for Your time Jim

    • @MaffettMotorwerks
      @MaffettMotorwerks  2 года назад

      Hey Jim feel free to shoot us an email we can go over our project times with you. The labor hours call for 24-35 hours depending on the vehicle and shop experience. Running the lines and diagnostics after the set up was the longest amount of time. Because if the self learn messes up at all through the calibration you have to start again.

    Curious what do you mean when you say redo the suspension that car being a linking it was made to give the ultimate ride so I’m curious if the upgrade you’re talking about is about the comforting a ride or is it about lowering it and turned it into well not a Lincoln

    • @MaffettMotorwerks
      @MaffettMotorwerks  3 года назад

      The suspension from this era was in its time state of the art, but it does not age well. The car sits almost 8” lower than factory due to the wear of suspension components. We redid the whole suspension with a state of the art air ride system from ridetech. It rides worlds better than it ever has, and better than most cars on the road today. And it most definitely rides like a Lincoln should.
