    Spectacular! Now I can diagnose instead of swearing and resisting the urge to kick historical vehicles. I've often suspected that the wiring diagrams don't always reflect reality and it makes it difficult diagnose things. Thank you for posting!

    this is a great video and it does show your knowledge of the system. What would it take to have these wireing harnesses reproduced? I am sure guys would rather start from zero instead of trying to pull and troubleshoot 50+ yr old wireing

      A company named bauer electric just stated making sections of the Lincoln harness. Not cheap tho... You're looking at around $10,000 for a mostly complete harness.

    Thats actually not that bad at all.
    Of course my skewed view may be because Ive had to tear my 6.0PSD apart...

    Nice educational video Nathan, Great Work!! To the first part of the video about them being different... my 68 actually came with 69 wiring harness/colors... and was very confusing trying to fix the wiring for the window switches when I first got it.

    Are there any replacement conversion wiring and fuse box That just simplify all the wire placement ??

    Nathan great videos. thanks for the effort of explaining things. 2 questions: who makes an electric motor to replace the vacuum wipers? 2. I will likely replace my rear suspension with air bags. I will do the install myself, any idea if it adds or detracts from value to a '61 convt. I owned it for 30 plus years have finished rebuilding entire drive train and rebuilt top and hydraulics.

      I make my own and I'm not aware of any specific conversion kit available. In my opinion, if you're planning to sell it soon the air ride may add value because it's popular now, but an original suspension will be worth more in the long run.

    is the difference you talk about between the cars just the color of the wires or is it schematically different?

    • @NathanWilsonDrivingDreams
      @NathanWilsonDrivingDreams  4 года назад

      Each year is schematically different. The differences I mention from early to late year 64 are just colors.

      @inmate666 4 года назад +3

      Your nutrual safty switch is out of adjustment or bad..probably because the rubber bushing at the end of the steering column is bad.id fix it before i would bypass it.

      @@davin24 id still keep a working one.it keeps the top from being used while driving and if some crazy possibility of it being in gear when started could be bad . expecially with a remote starter
