When I grow up, I want to become a fighter jet pilot in the US Navy, just like how my grandpa served in the ARVN and how my great grandpa served in the French Navy. I don’t want to fight against my own brothers, the other countries on earth. I want to fight to protect earth like in this video, which is a great depiction.

It's fun to fantasize about it. But the truth is, almost any spacefaring race is going to be hundreds if not thousands of years ahead of us in technological ability. So our few flimsy space crafts (space station and a few hundred satellites), our warships, fighter jets, and missiles, should be about as useful as natives on canoes rowing out to meet a nuclear carrier. It wouldn't be a war. It would just be a matter of why the aliens are coming. If they want to exterminate us and take the planet, there's nothing we can do. All these TV shows and movies showing us fighting the aliens are silly. It wouldn't be our soldiers against theirs or our aircraft against theirs. Again, imagine us invading some aboriginal tribe. They bring blowguns, bows and arrows, and come out to meet us on a few dozen canoes. We don't even need our naval ships and fighter jets. A few powerboats with miniguns and 50 cal cannons will easily take the poor natives out. We can't even imagine how the aliens would kill us, but there wouldn't be any meaningful fighting at all.

I remember reading a book series where the aliens, who are parasitic slugs that take over the bodies of other species, flat out state that a direct invasion of Earth would be doomed to fail because we humans have such an ingrained prowess for warfare that we could overcome their technological weaponry advantage.

Nuclear Warfare poses a huge issue for any species which engages us in direct combat, as the US, Russia, and others are fully prepared to bring out everything in their arsenal to avoid losing. imagine 10000 nuclear warheads heading in your direction, any species would probably want to avoid that; so theyd either retreat and come up with a better strategy, or blow up the earth with everything they have after seeing our weapons

It would truly be a beautiful moment. The United States, Russia, China, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany. And dozens of countries all over the world casting their petty grievances and rivalries aside to stand for a common goal. Not as individuals. But united as one. It's just embarrassing and disheartening to admit it would take one hell of a situation such as this to even entertain the idea...
It's a nice concept to think all humans and nations would band together against any alien attack, however, there will still be some ruthless holdouts who would not hesitate to take advantage of the situation and strike out against certain countries just to gain some ground against certain lifelong enemies. If you disagree then you haven't been paying much attention to the ways of human nature.

I chastise myself to not have discovered this video sooner. This video pretty much represents and gratifies my fantasy for Humanity's Military going against Sci-Fi/Fantasy elements. You sir have brought back the childhood enthusiasm out of me, and I can't give you enough thanks for making this edit
It's fun to fantasize about it. But the truth is, almost any spacefaring race is going to be hundreds if not thousands of years ahead of us in technological ability. So our few flimsy space crafts (space station and a few hundred satellites), our warships, fighter jets, and missiles, should be about as useful as natives on canoes rowing out to meet a nuclear carrier. It wouldn't be a war. It would just be a matter of why the aliens are coming. If they want to exterminate us and take the planet, there's nothing we can do. All these TV shows and movies showing us fighting the aliens are silly. It wouldn't be our soldiers against theirs or our aircraft against theirs. Again, imagine us invading some aboriginal tribe. They bring blowguns, bows and arrows, and come out to meet us on a few dozen canoes. We don't even need our naval ships and fighter jets. A few powerboats with miniguns and 50 cal cannons will easily take the poor natives out. We can't even imagine how the aliens would kill us, but there wouldn't be any meaningful fighting at all.

Nuclear Warfare poses a huge issue for any species which engages us in direct combat, as the US, Russia, and others are fully prepared to bring out everything in their arsenal to avoid losing.

It would truly be a beautiful moment. The United States, Russia, China, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany. And dozens of countries all over the world casting their petty grievances and rivalries aside to stand for a common goal. Not as individuals. But united as one. It's just embarrassing and disheartening to admit it would take one hell of a situation such as this to even entertain the idea...
It's a nice concept to think all humans and nations would band together against any alien attack, however, there will still be some ruthless holdouts who would not hesitate to take advantage of the situation and strike out against certain countries just to gain some ground against certain lifelong enemies. The part labeled Unite for Humanity , makes me think of seeing a Giant formation of naval Ships of every nation along with cargo ships with there decks packed to the brim with Main battle tanks , APCs, IFVs , AAA, Sams and troops of every nation, though each soldier wears the patch of there nation above it is a patch of earth or the UN ( if the UN is actually a functioning thing in this movie) and Fighters , transports, Bombers in the air along with Heli's of every nation.
